Danmachi: Westward Cloud [Complete]

[Vol.2] Quest 104- The Musician

Spending a few days thinking of what to do, he mostly spent it sparing with Ai in the backyard behind Lenoa’s shop.

“Guh! S-so this is a level 7 huh?” said Ai, struggling a bit.

“Hmm… I still can’t get a good feel for my strength yet… maybe I should head down to the dungeon?”

“And be away again?” she said.

“Fine… I’ll go in 2 more weeks… for now, I guess I will sharpen my fighting skills some more. Be ready.”

“Right!”

Cirrus used a fraction of his new strength to exchange blows with Ai.

Clack!! Clack!!

“Why don’t you help your aunt?” said Circe as she’s mixing stuff into a potion while ready a book in the shade.

Clack!! Clack!!

“Maybe? But I like to make my stuff and said stuff are… um experimental at best.”

Clack!! Clack!!

“Like those boots that let you walk on water.” Said Nox.

Clack!! Clack!!

“You can make something like that!” said Ai, all the while keeping her focus on the spar.

Clack!! Clack!!

“Yeah… but I lost them at sea, so there probably on the sea floor right now.”

Clack!! Clack!!

“That’s a shame. I always wanted to walk on water!”

Clack!! Clack!!

“Well, you could if you're fast enough.”

Clack!! Clack!!

“I could! I will try to see after patrol!”

Clack!! Clack!!

“Speaking of it's already going to be 11 AM.” Said Circe.

Gasp! Really!” she said, stopping mid-swing.

“Yup, from the time you arrived and me brewing this potion, about 2 hours and 23 mins have passed.”

“I need to go! Kaguya and Susanoo are going to talk my ears off if I’m late! See ya Cirrus!” she then took her to leave.

“Ah…. now I’m alone with my thoughts…” said Cirrus as he crosses his legs.

“What about wrestling? Remember, we saw Artemis fight that other goddess and she had a tough time!” Nox said with a big grin on her face.

“… Ah music! I could be a musician!”

“A musician?” Circe said, looking up. “Why that?”

“Who cares why we’re getting the band together!! Like back in the Empire, Cirrus!” Nox said enthusiastically.

“Umm, I hope you’re not expecting me to join you. As you know, I’m not a good singer.” Said Circe.

“Is she saying the truth, Cirrus?”

“No, she has a good voice, but she’s better if she knows what she is singing and also she prefers to be making potions and stuff.”

“Ah… well, if you wish to join us, you're more than welcome!”

“But considering that most people know you, I think we should change your appearance slightly,” Cirrus said, getting up.

“What do you have in mind?”

Three days later.

“Hmm, I never thought I would look good with blonde hair?” said Nox with her icy blue eyes and blonde hair. Even her snow-white skin was tanner, all changed with a magic item dangling around her neck.

“I think I did pretty good Yoru.” Said Cirrus with a brighter yet relaxed appearance with his sunglasses even more tinted and a scar running down his right eye.

“Not as good as that scar across your eye, Sora.”

“It’s fairly easy to disguise yourself so long as you have one recognizable feature, they won’t know it’s you when you change.”

“I’ll take your word on it so you wanna start here in the park around Babel?”

“What better way to gain recognition than to go where the people are?”

“Guess so, so shall we begin?”

As they get ready, they already see a few people looking at them, but then they began.

♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪~

The melody slowly built up, but it quickly gathered attention.

People started to come and enjoy the music; Cirrus is playing his guitar. He placed the case before them, and it quickly filled.

“WOOOO!!!”

“ENCORE!!”

“Thank you! Thank you!” Nox said. “We are a traveling group called Night Sky! My name is Yoru, and this is my brother, Sora. We thank you for your patronage! We will be back tomorrow!” she then gave a bow, and many gave a round of applause.

Many swarmed around Nox trying to pick her up as was the same for Cirrus, but they both denied their advances and left.

“I heard from Ai that Demi Ymir opened a restaurant up in the western main street,” Cirrus said, walking with Nox.

“Oh? the adventure who trained Ottar? You wanna see?” she said.

“Let’s. I’m curious about how good her food is.”

Walking down the west main street, they find a 2-story building made of stone with a depth of an inn. Its front entrance was a set of double doors with wood carvings decorating the frame, and even at the front of the pub.

The sign read Hostess of Fertility on the left side of the entrance.

Cirrus and Nox enter to find some people inside and at the counter was Mia herself in a blue dress with an apron tied with a yellow sash.

“Oh, customers! Anya! Come and take their order!” she shouted.

Coming out from the back was a Cat Person, her brown short hair and eyes paired well with her cat ears and white headband, and a green dress with long puffed sleeves with a white collar.

“Yes! I’m coming! Meow!” she said, coming.

She lead them to a seat and handed them the menu. Seeing the menu, Cirrus ordered the pasta while Nox ordered the steak.

Anya took a while to get it down, but she got it and went to the back to place the order.

“Hmm, do you think this place will be full at night?” Nox said.

“Who knows, but seeing as it’s run by Mia, this place is pretty damn safe, so I would assume it’s pretty packed.”

They talked for a bit when the food came.

“Enjoy! Meow!”

They got the utensils and took a bite of the food.

“… Damn, this is fucking good.” Said Cirrus.

“And the steak is so juicy!” said Nox.

Mia, who was at the counter, made a grin as she cleaned the beer mugs.
