Chapter 53: The Arrival Of Distinguished Guests

“Ling Xiao, you’re getting out of hand! You were the one who caused all these troubles, how dare you criticize us now? Longevity Sect was indeed very powerful ten thousand years ago, but everything’s different now. If everyone behaved like you, our sect would’ve been exterminated long ago! Why don’t you just die? It’ll be your contribution toward the sect!” Lin Shan was so enraged, he shouted at Ling Xiao while pointing at his nose.

On the other hand, Lu Guanjie and Ma Yan from Indulgence Sect were pleased upon seeing Longevity Sect in chaos before the arrival of Liu Xiongfei and Great Master Jiao Mu. They stood aside smiling and were ready to witness the sect’s doom.

“What do you mean that I caused all the trouble? Liu Xiongfei and Jiao Mu aren’t even here yet, why are you so sure that they’re here to find fault with us?”

Ling Xiao sneered and glared at Lin Shan. He was not afraid at all.

“Why? Do you think that they’re here to have tea with you?” Lin Shan scoffed as he ridiculed.

“I know what they’re here for!” Ling Xiao responded, “I don’t know why Mayor Liu’s here, but Great Master Jiao Mu’s here to give me a gift!”

Lin Shan, Ma Yan, and the rest were startled for a moment before they burst out laughing.

“Hahaha… Ling Xiao, have you become a fool? If Great Master Jiao Mu’s here to give you a gift, I’ll… I’ll swallow this rock!” Lin Shan mocked as he pointed at a gigantic bluestone not far from them.

“Elder Lin, I think he is very shocked by Great Master Jiao Mu’s visit that he’s starting to speak nonsense! It’s alright, he’ll suffer once the great master arrives!” Ma Yan scorned Ling Xiao’s reply.

Nangong Xuan and Great Elder flashed a bitter smile at Ling Xiao. They concluded that he was indeed a troublemaker because even they did not believe that Great Master Jiao Mu was here to give him a gift.

Of course, they were aware of his identity. Although he was the son of Demon-conquering King in the Ancient Great Barrenland, he became an abandoned child after the king went missing, making him inferior to a collateral disciple.

Three figures were making their way through Longevity Square.

The person leading was a white-haired elder who had a rosy complexion. He wore a simple smile and had deep eyes that portrayed his wiseness.

He wore a red robe that had a little golden cauldron embroidered on chest level, and inside the cauldron were five flaming golden stars.

The five flaming golden stars indicated that he was an inferior great pill alchemy master!

This was a rule set by the Pill Alchemy Guild that was effective in all of War God Continent, and those who self-passed themselves off as great pill alchemy masters with a certain symbol would be hunted down by the whole guild!

The little golden cauldron and the flaming golden stars represented a pill alchemist’s status. An inferior pill alchemist had one flaming golden star and the highest peerless pill alchemy grandmaster had twelve flaming golden stars!

Rumor had it that above a pill alchemy grandmaster was the exalted pill alchemy supreme that had the symbol of a cauldron, a Sun, and a Moon!

Behind Great Master Jiao Mu and Liu Xiongfei stood a pretty lady in a red dress who had beautiful features and a graceful figure. Most importantly, even though she seemed like she was only seventeen or eighteen years old, her cultivation was at first tier Spiritualization Boundary!

Upon seeing the lady, several Longevity Sect disciples subconsciously looked at Nangong Qing. When compared with her outstanding qualities, the red-dressed lady was not at all mediocre, which gave the disciples an illusion that the ladies were contending with beauty.

Lin Shan instantly yelled when he noticed that Ling Xiao did not greet the guests.

Great Master Jiao Mu laughed as he said, “Mayor Liu and I were too rash to have come uninvited. I hope that you won’t blame us, Sect Leader Nangong!”

Nangong Xuan replied right away, “I dare not, I dare not. It’s Longevity Sect’s blessing to have you as our guests!”

Great Elder and Ma Yan were extremely excited as they were both superior pill alchemists. They looked at Jiao Mu, the great pill alchemy master fervently, and followed him respectfully like they were his disciples.

The crowd made small talks with the guests, but they were slightly nervous too as they were trying to guess Great Master Jiao Mu’s and Mayor Liu’s purpose of visitation.

Liu Chuanxiong, Gu Zhong, and Wang Han were initially worried for Ling Xiao. However, their eyes went wide with surprise when they saw Liu Piaopiao standing behind Great Master Jiao Mu.

It was then when they finally understood what Ling Xiao meant and they were relieved.

“Great Master Jiao Mu, Mayor Liu, he’s Ling Xiao! He’s the one who killed my grandson, Ma Jun. He killed your future apprentice, Great Master! This little brute deserves to die, but Longevity Sect keeps protecting him. Please back me up!”

A brief moment later, Ma Yan could not help but point at Ling Xiao to condemn him.

The faces of Nangong Xue and the elders immediately changed to that of concern.
