I suddenly became the villain and I liked it

Registration has been finalized. There are only a few days before the event starts. We were going through the equipment that we currently have.

“This sword is truly so light. Even when I hold it.”

“Upon testing, the sword uses the channeled magic per each attack.”

“Oh? So, it constantly needs to be fueled with magic?”

“Not necessarily mistress. You can control the amount of magic used in each attack. Of course, it would need to be charged first. So, pre-charging it will increase how much you can use before needing to charge it again. But the downside would be its weight as more magic stored is equal to how heavy the weapon can be.”

“So, what happens if you do not use the sword but it still has magic in it?”

“The user is the one who regulates the magic in the sword. Which means that if the user is not holding it, the magic will leak out and if it is used by another person, they cannot control the magic since it is not theirs.”

“But that means that another person can still use it?”

“Yes. They cannot control the magic inside but as a weapon it is usable. However, the magic has a chance of hurting them since it is still not their own magic.”

“Oh. That means that I cannot use it even if I borrow your magic.”

“It is dangerous, mistress. I do not know if your body can handle the backlash of magic.”

“Understandable.”

“But as a weapon, it is amazing. It has great sharpness and very light. Although it is not a good weapon for clashes. It is more feasible for quick attacks and assassinations.”

“That means it is also the perfect weapon for Melanie.”

“Huh!?”

“Between the 3 of us, Melanie is the one with the most affinity with the weapon. As with her shadow, this weapon’s weight is an invaluable asset.”

“I’ll get to that later. Since it is unusual as an armor, the tailor was really inspired and what happened was amazing. Somehow, this bodysuit distributes the force of anything through the whole thing. So, it protects your whole body and you won’t get any injuries while wearing it but it still hurts. Unlike regular armor that prevents you from getting hit, this was made in the idea of getting hit.”

I held the thing. It was very thin and smooth.

“Since it hugs the body and it is supposedly worn under all other clothing, it can’t cancel the pain of getting hit. If you get stabbed on your stomach, you still feel the force but it is then dispersed. We did test it with magic and it does the same thing.”

“And that is in normal state?”

“Yes. This bodysuit needs magic to use its full potential. When someone wears it and channels magic into it, it can adjust to that person’s size and the magic boosts the defense. It lessens the pain and strengthens the effects. Also, magic needs to be continuously channeled in it since it automatically uses whatever it has.”

“So, it is not efficient?”

“Yeah. You need to always have magic on it, you don’t need a lot but the constant drain is still there. If you’re brave enough, you can control when you put your magic. So, you can choose only certain times to enhance it.”

“I see.”

“But you can still use it, miss Athena. It still has good defense but the pain will be there and strong magic will still hurt.”

“Do not worry, Melanie. I understand. Does it have other properties?”

“Oh! It is waterproof! So, you can use it when swimming. It can also regulate heat so it won’t be hot even if you wear it for a long time.”

“Ah, perfect for everyday use.”

“Yes!”

“Now then, have you succeeded in spreading rumors?”

“Yes, miss Athena! There were some classmates of ours who got worried for me. Since they know that I am always with you. I did assure them that I am not in any danger but everyone else in the tournament will be.”

The commoners had a lot but the nobles had problems relating to their families and the dues that they need to settle.”

“Are there any of them related to my family.”

“All of them are not related to your family, mistress.”

That also gives me the option of directly getting rid of them. As father does not have them under him, he will not hinder me if I choose to do that.

My participation in the tournament was not part of the game. Will there be any events that will occur because I participated? Ah, how exciting.
