"Creepy" Nessa muttered shivering as she instinctively grabbed my arm for comfort as the squishy feeling almost made me trip in a small hole.
"Wait" Ella suddenly halted causing the rest of us to stop abruptly.
I looked around wearily before my eyes widened as I spotted a blur heading straight for Ella. Instantly i moved to unsheathe my sword and yet Ella was faster. She drew her blade and slashed down the sound of metal clashing resonating through the forest. A large needle nearly four feet long and made of some kind of metal embedded itself in the ground to her left.
"A wolf?" I muttered seeing a large shadow walking out of the shadows deep in the trees before a frown came to my face.
The figure stood almost fifteen feet tall and was of a wolf but its entire body seemed to be decomposed with large open wounds that leaked black blood. Half its body was destroyed as if it got into a fight but the other half was full of thick silver fur that seemed to clang together as it strode forward.
"Disgusting" Nessa muttered holding up her hand and channeling mana while I slowly drew my blade.
"A corrupted beast" Ella's words seemed to be the breaking point as the wolf dashed forward with a speed that was blurry.
"Earthw~" Nessa started to use a spell but stopped as Ella moved forward even quicker then the beast.

Her figure seemed to become unfocused when you weren't paying full attention and all I could hear was the slash of her blade.
"WHOO!" The wolf hollowed and the front two of its legs separated from its body causing it to slide forward digging into the ground as it tried to stop.
The reactions in our group was top notch and I dashed forward holding my blade to the ground while nessa held up her hand and followed behind me. Although it seemed we weren't needed as the figure of the duchess appeared right beside the wolf who was still disoriented and slashed down her blade.
'Wow' I was amazed seeing the head of the wolf fall with ease.
'Out in the field the changes are much more noticeable' I thought stopping my movements only to feel something squishy and soft slam into my back.
"Eh! S~sorry" I looked back and saw Nessa rubbing her nose before she looked up at me and blushed slightly.
"What about the wolf…" Nessa's voice trailed off as she saw the duchess swinging her blade cleaning the blood off.
"It's dead" Ella sheeted her sword and I followed suit before I noticed Nessa's eyebrows furrowing as she looked at the beast.
"The mission was easier and faster then expected" I said with a smile feeling very pleased that the mission was already over before I clapped my hands.
"Shall we take a rest?" I asked causing all three women to look over at me with raised eyebrow.

The crackling of the campfire provided a comforting soundtrack and illuminated the surroundings as we sat around it eating the meal Nessa had prepared. The night was clear with stars twinkling above us in the sky as the warmth of the fire warded off the evening chill. Ella and the Duchess seemed more relaxed than they had the past few days, Perhaps they just needed to clear their heads but the one thing I knew as a fact was that their newfound strengths seemed to cause them to have a aura of confidence around them.
"This is good as always" I took a large bite of the savory and salty roasted meat as I glanced at to my side at nessa.
"Thank you" I was surprised seeing her more tame than usual and I noticed her eyes constantly glancing between Ella and the duchess.
"What's wrong?" Ella asked after taking a bite of the meat to having seen her gaze as well.
"What? Oh it's just~" Nessa jumped slightly before making a smile that made my heart start to race.
"You two have really improved by leaps and bounds" She remarked with a light tone.
"Did you start some new training regimen or something?" Nessa spoke eagerly looking at Ella and the Duchess with a mixture of admiration and curiosity
My heart froze at her words and Ella and the Duchess shared a quick glance before they both glanced toward me. A unspoken conversation passing between us as I looked between their eyes. I easily understood their hesitation after all Nessa was too innocent and too kind-hearted to be burdened with the truth of what we had done.
