My Stepsister in Kyoto

Chapter 99: Innocent young man

"Are you going somewhere?"

In the morning, they saw Mizuto had already changed, and it made them sigh since this guy was as handsome as ever, even if his clothes were rather plain.

"Yeah, I will be back a little late."

"Okay."

They thought that Mizuto was going to work and only said to be careful as they sent him off.

Nevertheless, Akatsuki felt like she was being stared at by Reina. "What's wrong, Reina?"

"No-Nothing." Reina was startled before she shook her head.

"Really? I feel like you are staring at me." Akatsuki looked at Reina in doubt.

"No, it's just that I wondered where you went last night..."

"Last night?"

"Well... I realized that you had gone from the futon before."

"Oh, I went to the toilet last night. Sorry, did I wake you up?"

Hearing Akatsuki's apology, Reina shook her head and said, "No, it's okay." Yet, why did she smell his scent on your body? Nevertheless, she didn't dare to ask this question and only stayed quiet while thinking that it was probably all due to the fact that they played in his room before.

However, Akatsuki smiled at Reina's direction before she said, "Then, should we go back now?" Still, while saying those words, she noticed Yume, who was also staring at her, so she gave her a gentle smile as usual.

"Okay." Reina nodded.

"Then, Yume, we will go home first."

"Yeah, see you." Yume waved her hand and waved her hand, erasing all the doubts in her heart since she knew who he loved was her.

Nevertheless, Mizuto didn't know what had happened to his house. Instead, he was at the Kyoto station, waiting for someone who came from Osaka. Sitting on a chair while reading a book quietly, his smartphone vibrated, and he saw that he got a call from his editor.

"I have arrived at Kyoto station. Are you here already?"

"Yes, I am here."

"Where are you?"

"Wait in your place, Machida-san. I will come to you."

"Okay."

Mizuto knew that his editor came from Tokyo by plane to Osaka, then from Osaka to Kyoto by train. Nevertheless, this also made him sigh, wondering why there wasn't even an airport in Kyoto since it was so troublesome to transport to Osaka first. Nevertheless, hearing the description of her appearance, he looked around before he found someone that matched the description.

When he looked at her, he didn't expect that his editor would be such a mature beauty. Using the "Identify" skill, he found out she was in her early 30s, yet somehow she seemed younger. Still, the woman was also looking in his direction.

Their eyes met, which caused Mizuto to blink his eyes and then approach this editor of his. "Are you Machida Sonoko-san?"

Sonoka stared at this handsome guy for a while, completely in a daze, before she quickly answered with a nervous tone. "..ah, yes. That's me."

"Nice to meet you. I am Irido Mizuto."

"..." Sonoko.

"Is there something wrong?" Mizuto was confused.

Why was this guy so handsome?

This was what Sonoko thought at that moment as she looked at his appearance. His outfit was a mix of plain T-shirts, flannels, denim outerwear, and a black Converse high-top 70s. As she looked at him, she somehow recalled the memory of her school days, thinking that bitter-sweet days with the companion of a handsome boy next door, who was slightly shy and awkward, yet during the most important moment, he was so reliable and she couldn't help but rely on him during her toughest moment.

Yes, this was her impression of him, and at the same time, she also wanted to complain to him, who said that he wasn't so good-looking. Yet, she didn't know his appearance before they met each other, considering his photo profile on his social media was just a photo of his back instead of his face.

"...didn't you say that you weren't so good-looking?"

Mizuto could only show an awkward expression hearing her words as he had said that to her before.

Watching his expression, Sonoko wished to tease him more somehow, yet this also made her confused, wondering how such an awkward boy could write such a well-written, smooth love story.

"There is no way for me to say that I am good-looking, right?"

"Well, that's true. If you say that, I will snort at you, but you are being too humble to say that you aren't good-looking."

"Thank you. I also didn't expect you to be beautiful either, Machida-san."

Sonoka laughed and said, "It's too early for you to try to flirt with me, Irido-kun."

Mizuto only smiled and said, "Welcome to Kyoto, Machida-san."

"....."

Sonoko was wrong; it seemed that this boy, who was more than a decade younger than her, was able to smitten her. Still, as an adult and also a professional working woman, she was capable of controlling her emotions. Yet, she had to say this sweet boy was her type.

"By the way, I am just trying to confirm, but you are not a special male escort hired by the real Mizuto Irido, right?"

"...I am the real Mizuto Irido."

"That's great to know."

"It's cruel of you to mistake me for a male escort, Machida-san."

"Don't get angry, but you know, if we use your face, your book can be sold a lot!"

"No, please. Don't use my face for marketing purposes."

"You don't want to?"

"I don't. Anyway, let's go somewhere, please. I don't think that we can have a conversation about the book here."

"You are right." Sonoko nodded. "Let's go to my hotel first. We can talk there." She could see that many people, especially women, were staring in Mizuto's direction, and it was definitely a damn hard for them to talk about a business with so many eyes on them.

"Okay." Mizuto nodded, then said, "Let me help you with your suitcase."

"Thanks."

"By the way, where are you staying? It is the place that I have recommended to you?"

"Yes. It's on..."

With that destination, the two entered the taxi as Mizuto took a glance at his editor once again. Her skin was fair, and she had chin-length dark blue hair and light blue eyes. It was hard to imagine that she was a woman in her early 30s.

"What's wrong?" Sonoko felt like Mizuto was staring at her.

It was impossible for him to say that he admired her beauty, so he said, "The taxi isn't cheap. We're not that far from your hotel, after all." According to the hotel, which he recommended during their previous call, she stayed at the hotel in the Kawaramachi area, and it was definitely wasteful to take a taxi, he thought, especially when he knew the editor's salary wasn't much.

Sonoko chuckled and said, "You don't need to worry. All of the expenses used on this trip will be reimbursed by the company."

"Is that okay?"

"Of course, it's okay. This much of an expense is nothing when we compare it with the income that we might get from your book."

"...do you have so much confidence in me?"

"I do." Sonoko nodded. "I believe that your book has so much potential."

"...that gives me a bit of pressure, but thank you. I am happy to hear your praise, Machida-san."

Watching him blush, Sonoko had to sigh, thinking that this guy definitely wasn't good for her heart, but she felt like she needed to take care of this innocent young man.

By the way, just to ask which brand do you think is better?

Subaru or Mazda?
