The broken dungeon core

Soothing vulnerabilities

Luna seems like she’s wanting contact with me so I give her access to my dungeon flesh which she gently grabs and kisses.

I decided that I would wrap her up and I cradle her amongst my dungeon flesh, as I made it very much like a nest that she could comfortably sleep in.

I moved her blanket from her room to my dungeon core room and I covered her up which confused Luna for some reason.

Luna, “I forget that you don’t think like most people, but I think this is nice.

It’s different from what I think I was originally looking for but it might be better for now….

Just promise me that when you get access to your breeder you’ll choose me as your first…”

Luna is blushing with embarrassment as she snuggles into my dungeon flesh shyly.

I agree with her on that, after all I had planned to do so from the beginning, but since I was wanting to make her as secure as possible I decided to see if I could get her access to the dungeon feature for the breeder.

I take quite some time trying to figure out what to do as I perused my dungeon database for a way to let Luna have constructive permissions and then letting her have the breeder placement as well as the resource requirements.

It didn’t take it away from me but more like it gave her access to see my dungeon building panel which has only a few functions and categories.

The special dungeon building features includes the dungeon breeder which requires some hefty amounts of resources to construct, and the dungeon monster spawner which is still too damaged to create as it is way more complex, as it will construct a dungeon monster from a combination of biomass and mana while using my energy resources to create it all in a short amount of time.

Luna received the new information through her dungeon manager system about her new access to my dungeon construction information.

Although she can’t directly make changes to my dungeon herself she can now see what is available and how much it cost.

Since she can see what I can get and it’s cost she can decide to have something made with my available resources and I will get it done for her.

Luna looks excitedly through the new information before she asks me some questions.

Luna, “Looks like you still have a lot of damaged things to repair…. While the cost of your breeder is a lot higher than I thought it would be,…. even if it is cheaper than the monster spawner.

300 mana is no joke! and that’s just for a level 1 breeder, and the biomass required being 150 on top of requiring 50% energy!

No wonder you haven’t been able to make it yet!”

Luna strokes my dungeon flesh like she does with smoothing out her fur.

She looks somewhat solemn as she thinks carefully about what she has learned.

Luna, “The breeder is a level one item so,…. Doesn’t that mean that you were supposed to be able to afford that in the beginning had you not been damaged?”

I realize that she’s definitely right about that as the 500 that has remained in parentheses since the beginning must have been what I should have had as my original base of mana storage.

I responded with a simple yes.

Luna, “So weren’t you supposed to be born as an adult???”

I seem to have missed something important here???

Luna goes red in the face before she awkwardly says something with her own conclusions as I haven’t given her any response yet!

Luna, “If that’s the case could it be like you have been stuck on heat suppressants since you were born!?

Dungens are supposed to have a lot of monsters in them, even newly discovered small ones can end up having a hundred or so monsters in it, but you don’t have any monsters yet!…..

Are you really going to be okay???”

I don’t really know but I think I might be feeling a bit of stress about it and although having inhabitants has helped I feel like I am missing something that I need to have already had.

I answered with an uncertain ring of small stalagmites and clay with a stalagmite in the center this time to have the answer lean towards a no.

Luna’s eyes seem to tremble and her fluffy ears droop, she pulls one of my thicker tendrils of dungeon flesh into her embrace as it she was trying to hug me like she does with her siblings.

I can’t help but feel like a surging wave of energy went through me and I have this obscure sensation or desire to embrace Luna in some way that’s more than what I am currently capable of doing right now.

I have to pacify myself with wrapping her up more, with my dungeon flesh embracing around her snugly, I then have a tendril squeeze her hand gently, as I try my best to convey my feelings to her.

We ended up holding each other throughout the night as she had fallen asleep clinging onto my dungeon flesh and I kept her wrapped up warmly.

Luna started her day transferring her mana to me, surprisingly enough she did so through my dungeon flesh as she was still half asleep.

So she has suggested having the others try to do the mana transfer the same way so that they don’t have to come to the core room all the time.

Luna seems to want to be one of the few allowed in to my core room and I don’t think I see any problem with doing so.

I’m sure having the mana transfers getting done through my dungeon flesh would also be more convenient for everyone….

I wonder why Luna still insists that she wants to keep doing her transfers in my core room instead though?

I don’t mind and I actually feel a little more happy about it than I think I should be.

Luna warmed up the stew from last night and served it to her family and a couple of villagers who exchanged some bread, butter and milk for a couple of servings.

Luna decided to have a cold box fashioned for the foods that were better kept cold.

She has me make a container much like the planters we made before, except giving it a lid that can seal air tight.

After which she had gathered snow from outside and filled the base with it before adding the jar of milk and butter inside then closing it up.

Luna made the announcement to the women in the dungeon that she was testing out a cooler box and that she’d reveal how it turned out in the evening.

Luna also used this time to catch Tammy’s mother Tina, asking her about how Tammy was holding up and if there was anything they could do to help her recover.

Tina, “That’s mighty kind of you Luna, and I think you are probably the closest person who could relate to what our Tammy had gone through….

I think the worst thing is that she’s been afraid of men and she fights sleep like it would be the death of her.

I have to admit that I am getting exhausted, I wasn’t young when I had Tammy in the first place and now I might as well start calling myself old.”

She deflated as she spoke, looking smaller as she explained the situation.

Luna, “I am sorry to hear that, but maybe let’s try some sleeping herbs that I had to start using for my nightmares and restlessness, they go well in a tea but I also eat them raw when I don’t feel like making tea.”

Luna runs off to her room and harvests the parts of the herbs needed and she returns to Tina.

Luna, “Here try these tonight and let me know if they help her too!”

Tina, “Ah, my grandmother used to use lavender and chamomile all the time, I might try some of her old recipes as well if this helps.”

Luna, “I might suggest to see if Tammy feels well enough to try making the recipes with you too as I have found keeping busy has also helped me to keep my mind off what happened.

It might not work for Tammy since she couldn’t escape and ended up hurt way more than I was, but I think it’s worth a try.”

Tina, “That it might, I had forgotten that’s how I made it by day by day when I had miscarried before I had Tim and Tammy, I just needed to get my mind off of it even though I was still lost I got by.

I am not sure what else to try, but if you don’t mind would you mind finding if she might be interested in doing something with you or the other girls?”

Luna, “Well I have been making clothing storage chest with my little sister Misty.

I have recently started teaching her how to weave vines into different useful items like the baskets and the mats we made for everyone’s doorways.

Misty seems to have taken a liking to it so I’m sure she’ll love to show off her handiwork, maybe Tammy might also enjoy it and maybe she would feel better after making something nice for herself.”

Tina, “That might be a good idea, we left our dressers back in the village and are currently using our bags and pillowcases to store the clothes currently so I will definitely be able to praise her plenty over it.

let’s see if she is interested.”

They shoo the men out of the area and have Tammy and Tina go to see the chest Luna and Misty made.

They had stripped the bark from the vines before using them so the woven chest was smooth and wouldn’t snag the clothes.

Tammy seems interested but she seems anxious and fidgety.

Luna, “If you want, I can have my dad out hunting and get my brother to go spend some time with his friends so it’ll just be us girls here.”

Tammy stutters.

Tammy, “Is, that, really, alright???”

Luna gives a soft and caring look while making her voice more gentle than usual.

Luna, “It’s not a problem, Rocky has been missing being able to spend time with his friends, and my dad is wanting to get some target practice in with his bow before dealing with bandits.

I would suggest us cooking together too, if it wasn’t for all the traffic in that place.”

And so it was decided that Tammy would come stay over once Luna had the vines needed for them to make a chest.
