Chapter 116: Too Much For This World
Nia blinked at him and the glassiness faded away. "Wife?"
"Yeah, she is an elf, and a really cute one too," Bane replied, but Nia didn't move.
"If you can't feel my pain, and you can't sense it, then there is no way you are a demon," Nia muttered, and Bane rolled his eyes.
"Of course, I'm not a demon. I'm a human. Goodbye."
Bane turned to leave, but the woman suddenly clung to one of his legs, but Bane kept walking despite the complaining woman.
"Stop. Don't leave me," Nia begged as she held onto his leg, but Bane didn't stop, and he ignored her until the door shut behind them, leaving her alone.
'You are a cold-hearted bastard,' Onyx said, and Bane snorted.
'You know who my wife is, and I have no interest in pissing around with women right now, or ever for that matter. Just Lysia is more than enough, so I will be as cold hearted as I have to be,' Bane answered as he looked around the small circular room.
There was a staircase, but no sign of what the next floor would have, but Bane didn't really care, and he didn't see any reason to delay the inevitable. He walked up the steps, and was surprised to see a massive library when he reached the top.
"That's different," Bane muttered as he looked around the large room. It was a square made of shelves, and they were stacked to the ceiling with books, scrolls, and all sorts of paper.
"This is the Liandrie Archives. It is a vast collection of the demon's greatest knowledge. All the history, great murders, and great works of art that were created by demons are stored in these archives. It is a place that is ruled by Zephyr and Lloyd, the twin Demon Generals," Nia sniffled from the ground where she was still being dragged behind Bane.
"Are you really still attached?" Bane asked, and he glanced over his shoulder and saw Nia's hand, but her arm was stretching further and further behind him as he moved forward.
"Why did you leave me?!" Nia demanded, and Bane sighed and turned around, taking her by the wrist.
"Look, lady, I am not interested. You are a pretty girl, but I have a woman I love more than anything else, and I will never be unfaithful to her," Bane explained, and Nia stared at him for a long time, then clamped herself back to his ankle. "Are you serious? Stupid? Deaf? Or just a fucking combinations of them all?"
Before Bane could get a reply from the female demon, a pair of laughing demonic voices came from within the Archives.
"We will be the most famous Generals ever!" A male voice laughed, and Bane looked around for the source, but there was no sign of the twins.
"Yes, we will have the glory, the honor, and the respect!" a female voice cackled, and Bane finally located the twins. They were in the center of the room, and looked exactly alike, from the tips of their horns to the bottoms of their feet.
They were dressed in black armor, and were standing in a circle with several scrolls and papers. Each of them had a hand on a large scroll, and their eyes were glowing red.
"What the hell is this? Some kind of magical conference call?" Bane asked, and the demons looked up at him.
"We are going to reduce you down until there is nothing left but your demon heart," one of the twins said, and they both raised a hand and pointed a finger at Bane.
Bane didn't say anything, but instead lifted a foot and stomped down hard on Nia's hand, but missed as she reattached herself to his leg.
The twin demons' red faces turned purple from being ignored, and they glared at Bane.
"You can't ignore us, fool! You will die!"
"You are already dead!"
Bane rolled his eyes, and walked over to the twins, but was met by a large force field, and he couldn't pass through it.
"So, you are trying to use this spell to kill me?" Bane asked, and the two twins looked at each other and laughed.
"What can you do? There is nothing you can do. This barrier is a tier seven spell, and can't be destroyed. No one has ever broken from this spell. Once you are inside, there is no way out. The spell will rip apart the body of any who tries," the female twin mocked, and the male twin smirked.
"We have killed many powerful demons here. Your death will be quick, and then we will have your body as a trophy."
"A trophy that we will enjoy, and not a trophy to have for anyone else," the female twin purred, and then they started chanting the spell together.
Finally, Nia realized that she was also in the same danger as Bane, she looked up at him from her position on the ground, but then let out a sigh. The monster was smiling, so he must have a plan.
The moment the barrier came up, it was almost transparent, and it was easy for Bane to see the room inside, but when the twins began to chant, it darkened, and he couldn't see anything.
'I could kill them,' Onyx said, but Bane shook his head.
'No, I want to test a theory. From what I can tell, everything in this world is just a construct of demonic energy. With that in my amazing mind, I should be able to deconstruct anything I come in contact with. I have a lot of energy, and a lot of control. So, while I can't cast spells, I can break any skill or spell used on me in this demon world,' Bane explained, and Onyx was quiet for a few moments, but then replied.
'Your theory is correct. With your manipulation of demonic energy, then you should be able to break the barrier, or any other spell... You really are too much for this world,' Onyx sighed, and Bane nodded as all the magic collapsed around him and Nia in black flames.
"What happened?!" The twins screamed, and Bane grinned.
"I destroyed your barrier, and your spell," Bane answered, and then kicked out with a leg, sending Nia flying into the wall, and he rushed forward.
He didn't bother with a weapon, but instead grabbed one of the demon twins by the head, and slammed her down onto her brother.
Both of the twins let out screams of pain, and tried to fight back, but Bane twisted both their necks, killing both of them. Both bodies burned up with black flames, and two bright blue demon hearts were all that were left and they floated on flames to his hand. Bane looked down, and Nia was back to clinging on to him.
"Did you not just see what I just did to those other two?" Bane demanded, and Nia nodded, but didn't reply. He tried to shake her off, but she just flapped in the air, not letting go. "I will turn you into black fire and then eat your heart if you don't let me go!"
The demon woman just stuck her tongue out at Bane, making him furious.
"I will do it!" Bane threatened, but Nia only ignored him, dodging his every stomp. "Is this how my wife feels?"
'I shall record this moment so Eve can replay it for Lysia's entertainment. I will assume that you will need to have many things to defuse your wife when you get back,' Onyx explained, but Bane's face had gone dark and ugly.
"Oh, you are trying to get me killed when I get home?"
'She can revive you. This is all for everyone else's sake,' Onyx retorted back, but Nia spoke up in a whiney voice.
"You have such a mean face, and you are a horrible man. How did you even get a woman like that?" Nia asked as she clung to his arm.
Bane shook with all his might, but the demon woman seemed like she was glued to his arm, and just flapped as he shook.
"I can't take anymore of this," Bane groaned, and then walked towards the stairs, and headed up, and Nia was dragged along behind him.
"Where are you going?" Nia called after him, but Bane ignored her, and she let out a yelp for each stair her ass bounced into.
"I am going to kill the King, and then leave," Bane said in an emotionless voice, and Nia stopped letting out yelps.
"He is much too strong, and there are two more floors before you can fight him."
"Good, the more, the better," Bane said as he climbed the steps, and entered the next room.
