The Tale of Hero Alice’s Social Death

Chapter 79: Have You Ever Considered the Mansion’s Feelings?

Is this really alright? I've only transmigrated for a short time, yet I've already uncovered the identities of the Hero and Demon King.

Alice couldn't help but voice a complaint in her mind as she looked at the silver-haired maid before her. It had only been around two weeks since she arrived in this world, yet the situations she had encountered were things that even the natives of this world would find unbelievable. Not only did Alice pretend to be the Hero and Demon King during these past two weeks, but she had even uncovered the real Hero and Demon King.

Though, unlike Aird, Luna seemed to be already aware of her identity as the Demon King. She was even capable of skillfully manipulating the Demon King's Power already.

Fortunately, judging by the hint of cautiousness in Luna's eyes, it would seem that the silver-haired maid had awakened as the Demon King only recently. Had Luna already reached maturity as the Demon King, she probably wouldn't have batted an eye even if Alice was immune to her mental attack and managed to dodge her sneak attack.

Meanwhile, going by the fact that Chris had only started having mental problems around a year ago, Alice deduced that it should have only been a year since Luna had gained the ability to use the Demon King's Power in actual combat. Although one year's worth of training had allowed her to skillfully manipulate the Demon King's Power, she was still incapable of using it to its fullest potential.

However, there was still a limit to being cautious. After seeing no action from Alice for some time, Luna quickly understood that Alice did not intend on taking the initiative to attack her. Although the large bundle of cloth wrapped around the blonde girl's right hand looked very suspicious, Luna did not intend on waiting any longer.

Immediately, Luna raised her spiked club and dashed forward. Then, she swung the gigantic weapon at Alice, her hands never hesitating for even a moment even though her target was a cute little girl. Just the wind pressure created by the spiked club was already enough to cause the surrounding cracked walls to tremble.

Alice had no intentions of tanking the spiked club for the moment. Her strengthened mind told her that even with 8000 points in Strength, her body still wasn't strong enough to take on a direct attack from the Demon King's Power. Thus, when Alice saw Luna lunging forward and swinging the spiked club down toward her head, she immediately kicked against the floor and dodged backward. Meanwhile, thanks to the 8000 Speed the Hero's Sword provided, Alice was able to dodge Luna's devastating attack once again.

It was fortunate that Alice had chosen to evade Luna's attack as the silver-haired maid's attack this time was much stronger than before. As soon as the spiked club impacted the floor, the entire room thoroughly cracked and crumbled apart.

She destroyed the room…

Alice couldn't help but be shocked when she experienced a sudden sense of weightlessness. She couldn't believe that Luna had destroyed the room with just two simple attacks. Moreover, the destruction wasn't limited to just the mansion's master bedroom. When Alice looked down and past her feet, she saw that cracks also covered the first-floor living room.

—Luna's second attack didn't just destroy the bedroom. It had also caused cracks to spread throughout the entire mansion.

If Alice wasn't mistaken in her judgment, the entire mansion would probably crumble into ruins should it receive another attack from Luna.

Before the room's shattered fragments could even fall to the first floor, Luna had already readied herself to launch her third attack. Dark mana flooding out of her body, she kicked against a piece of falling debris under her feet and propelled herself toward Alice. Her movements were so fast that she had already arrived before Alice and swung her spiked club before the debris from the shattered ceiling could even fall to her elevation.

Alice currently couldn't move about as freely as she did before because of the shattered floor. Although she wanted to mimic Luna's actions and propel herself away from Luna's attack using the falling debris, Luna's spiked club was already in front of her, so she had no time to do so. Thus, she had no choice but to raise her right hand and take the hit with the concealed Hero's Sword.

The instant the gigantic spiked club collided with the Hero's Sword, the shockwave of the impact instantly obliterated the flimsy bedsheet covering the Hero's Sword, exposing the weapon it previously concealed. Fortunately for Alice, the force of the impact had also sent her shooting down to the first floor like a cannonball. By the time gravity had pulled Luna down to the first floor, the debris from the first floor's ceiling had also reached the ground and buried Alice alive.

Thus, even though Luna caught a brief glimpse of the Hero's Sword, she had yet to realize the sword's identity. She only saw that Alice had blocked her attack using a sword.

Meanwhile, just like Alice expected, Luna's third attack had thoroughly shattered the entire mansion. Even though Luna's third attack didn't land directly on the mansion, the resulting blastwave was more than enough to push the mansion's cracked foundations past their limits.

However, despite having destroyed the mansion, Luna did not let her guard down. Rather, it was precisely because she had destroyed the mansion that she did not let down her guard. After all, this meant that her attack did not land on Alice's body. Had her attack landed on Alice's body, Alice's body would've absorbed the brunt of the attack's power, and the resulting shockwave wouldn't have been strong enough to shatter the entire mansion. The fact that her attack had shattered the mansion meant that Alice had redirected all of the attack's power to the mansion, which also meant that Alice should be virtually unharmed right now.

As debris from the second floor started raining down, Luna shrouded herself in dark mana, using it to push away any debris that might hit her. When all of the falling debris settled on the ground, only the spot where Luna stood was free of debris.

Meanwhile, Luna kept her gaze fixated on one part of the ruins throughout this entire time, her eyes never moving away from that spot.

"How ruthless of you. You just ruined a perfectly good mansion."

After being on the receiving end of Luna's gaze for a while, Alice knew that the silver-haired maid had already seen through her attempt to hide. So, she gave up her cover and pushed away the debris pressing down on her body. At the same time, she couldn't help but feel exasperated by Luna's strength.

It had only been a year since Luna had started to put the Demon King's Power into actual use, yet she was already capable of exhibiting such power. If Luna was given a decade to familiarize herself with the Demon King's Power, wouldn't that mean she could destroy the entirety of Holl City with one swing of her spiked club?

It was no wonder why people described Heroes and Demon Kings as walking taboo bombs.
