Chapter 90: Reclaim the lost lands
[Mission: Exterminate the Glemorax King]
[Reward: ???]
[Side mission: Exterminate the invaders (I) (Complete)]
[Side mission: Exterminate the invaders (II) (Complete)]
Zyrus scrolled through the cube’s mission, but there wasn’t much of a change. Two side missions were completed which gave him piles of Bone enhancement fluid and Muscle enhancement fluid. He could foresee the end of the first mission; however, he had yet to find a clue about the second main mission.
[Mission: Canoe of Catastrophe]
[???]
[Reward: ???]
He had his own ideas about the sudden dungeon break on earth. He didn’t have the time to mull over things when he was in the first ring. He had neither the knowledge nor the strength to afford such things.
Now though, he had a bit of both.
‘Everything else aside, I’ll focus on this first,’
[Side mission: Reclaim the lost lands]
[Reward: New facilities can be created in the area under your control]
It was simply a matter of time before he conquered the whole continent minus the red zone. All of the aliens were wiped out in this battle. Thus, he just needed to travel across the continent to convert the whole land into a green zone.
He felt bad for poor Franken who’ll have to stay in the warehouse. They had to keep up the ‘façade’ of his trump card.
‘On the positive note, it won’t take long with this,’
[The last Apostle]
He will stand fearlessly when the world crumbles on the dawn of apocalypse. He will fight the darkness that devourers civilizations. On the world abandoned by all, he will usher the era of conquest.

Note: The title’s effects will improve depending on your actions.
Apart from this, he didn’t gain any direct rewards from this battle. The corpse would be used for summoning and empowerment, and while he could make some items with the glemorax chief’s remains, he’d rather use it on Elsid.
His named subordinates were considered as different entities. Naturally, it was possible to use his class-related skills on them.
“Zirnitra, led the drakes and cover a corner. I’ll deal with the rest,”
“Yes, my liege,”
Zyrus found it funny that Zirnitra had changed the form of address after noticing that there was also a ‘lord’ behind the glemorax.
“See you in a week then,” Zyrus waved his hands and disappeared with a flash. The earth was about to welcome a ruler after waiting for countless millennia.
…
Days passed by on the doomsday-like earth. The earlier battle had affected the entire planet’s climate. It was hard to predict day and night in this place. One thing was for sure though, the days were getting hotter while each night was more bone-chilling than the one before.
Apart from cursing at the weather and dropping off his summons, Zyrus was doing one more thing. He wanted to create totems in the sanctuary that would form a grand formation in the end. His idea of merging mage towers and tribal totems was put on hold due to the lack of sufficient resources.
However, the conditions were different on earth. He could use his summons for totems and substitute a lot of materials with them. There was no upper limit to the number of summons, and thus, Zyrus generously used over 30,000 summons to lay out the groundwork.
One might think that it was a risky gamble, but Zyrus believed otherwise. ‘Numbers are useless if your opponent is above your league of existence-’ he firmly believed in these words.
He was certain that this was the case with the one behind the glemorax. It didn’t matter whether he had an army of 150,000 or 100,000. Of course, this didn’t mean that the summons were useless.
They were seedlings which would one day grow into a verdant forest. What they needed right now was time and resources.
“Welcome, my liege,” Zirnitra and the drakes greeted him at the mountain range. Today was the last day of the week.
“Although we’ve conquered pretty much everything on these lands, it somehow feels empty,” Zyrus shrugged as he looked at the red zone.
“Indeed. We must remove these pests from the roots,”
“If only it was that simple…”
“You learned telepathy?”
Franken’s aggrieved voice sounded in the duo’s ears. Even Zirnitra who had just gained intelligence could tell that it was a white-faced lie.
“Ahem… just hold on for a while.”
“A month maybe? A bit longer if we want to be thorough,”
“Tch..if you’re so bored then do some work,”
Zyrus didn’t reply right away and opened the cube’s screen instead. He had made remarkable progress in the side mission. Now, he could build many facilities in the green zones.
[Congratulations! You are one step closer to completing the Side mission]
[You have reached the required threshold to unlock various facilities]
[Current limit: 1/9]
[Please select from below:]
[1. Barracks]
[2. Castle]
[3. Alchemy tower]
[4. Teleport waypoint]
[5. Warehouse]
[6. Forge]
[7. Bestiary]
[8. Satellite]
He wanted to build a teleport waypoint and satellite after defeating the glemorax king. He didn’t need a castle and warehouse at the moment, and the bestiary was like a joke in this dead world.
Thus, Zyrus chose from the three remaining options.
Barracks: Train your subordinates or summons according to the selected regimen. Increases the chance of evolution and skill learning process. You can appoint an instructor to teach their designated skill.
Limit: 10,000
Instructor limit: 1
Note: You can either create a regimen yourself or generate one based on your goal. Additional materials might be required depending on the goal.
‘Hmm.. five of these would do for now,’ Zyrus decided and looked at the other two tabs.
Alchemy tower: A tower equipped with necessary potion-making and enchantment tools. It has a large collection of blueprints and potion formulas, which can be accessed by improving the alchemy proficiency.
Worker limit: 100
Researcher limit: 10
Lead alchemist position: 1
Note: A large amount of materials are required to practice alchemy. Given enough time and resources, it is possible to impart basic mastery to the tower’s occupants.
Forge: A forge equipped with necessary weaponsmithing and artifact refining tools. It has a large collection of blueprints and research theories, which can be accessed by improving the forging proficiency.
Worker limit: 200
Researcher limit: 15
Lead forger position: 1
Note: A large amount of materials are required to practice forging. Given enough time and resources, it is possible to impart basic mastery to the tower’s occupants.
The alchemy tower was perfect to blossom Zirnitra’s talents. He had inherited the knowledge of sorcery, but even then, he needed the necessary tools to put it into practice.
‘And the forge will keep Franken busy for the time being,’
Zyrus closed the screen and opened the map. Elsid was ideal to be an instructor, and Franken was suited for the bestiary. Now he just needed someone who was good at observation and navigation for the satellite, and a blacksmith who could be in charge of the forge. However, these were issues for the future him.
At the moment he had to focus on slaying the glemorax king.
Zyrus zoomed out the map and clicked on a nearby plain. It wasn’t that far from the warehouse, and he could travel to and fro within minutes.
He decided to leave the central area for the castle. With a click of his finger five barracks were placed in a pentagon formation. They would form the first line of defense against any enemy attacks.
After that, he planned to build the alchemy tower, forge, and bestiary in a triangle formation.
*Rumble*
Earthquakes erupted on the designated area which could be felt from miles away. As much as Zyrus wanted to watch the construction process, he didn’t have the leisure to do so.
Time was of the essence, and he would use every minute to prepare for the final battle.
“It is unlikely that the enemy will take the initiative to attack, but still, do not exit the facilities for the time being.” Zyrus added as he ordered Zirnitra to lead his 100,000-strong army.
“As you command, my liege,”
After nodding at the departing troops Zyrus once again teleported to the warehouse. Franken had already left for his new home, aka, the forge.
‘Two months… this should be enough to create another skill for the 13 curses of void,’
It had been a while since he unlocked the authority via the cube. He was unable to progress any further due to time restrictions, but the current situation was ideal to make up for it.
‘If I succeed then I have a 70% chance of winning on the first try,’
Zyrus’s deduction was based on the glemorax chief’s abilities and his knowledge of the aliens. Of course, the chance of victory was 100% if he used some underhanded means. It was just that it wouldn’t be as satisfying as a head-on victory.
‘How many years has it been since I made a skill to counter the enemy?’ thought Zyrus as he sat down on the warm floor. His eyes held an intrigued gaze as he read the information on the cube.
This all-knowing object was perfect for an arcanist who had a bottomless hunger for knowledge.
