Author Update: I wasn’t well since the past couple of days…
So, yeah, as the title said, I was feeling quite under the weather recently.
I mentioned in the last chapter that I went on a trip with my family last week.
And the sun was bright there. Naturally, I got a heat stroke... (This was Tuesday.)
Spent the night throwing up, barely ate anything the next day, barely even left the hotel room.
We were to return the next day (Thursday) starting early in the morning, but I ended up with a bad stomach ache and diarrhoea on the way...
And we spent the whole day on the road.
I was feeling better today but I figured that it was somewhat late for me to start writing.
That's why I decided to not write anything for this week...
Really sorry about that...
But as something of a compensation for it, I will be giving you guys a list of other novels that I found to have pretty good storylines.
- I'm the King of Technology by Lumydee: As you know, this was a major inspiration for my novel. If you read it, you'll see several similarities as well. This is like my novel but with less "Fantasy"... Basically, the MC isn't in a magical/wuxia sort of world but a somewhat pseudo-fantasy world with lots of weird flora and fauna but no mystical energies. The rest of the plot is similar. A mediaeval world where MC is abandoned and poisoned by family. But he gets a system, gets healed and gets around to kingdom and tech building. You'll find this OC on Webnovel, thought the author is nice enough that he doesn't mind if you read it on some other piracy websites too. There's a discord server for this as well (which is way more active than mine). However, Lum does do a lot of typos initially. Also, the author (Lumydee) reads my novel too and seems to enjoy it as well. (I mean, I have received positive comments from him on Webnovel and he also doesn't mind me plagiarising so much of his story too!)
- Level system vs Cultivation methods by Bristlecone: The other novel that inspired mine. It was over at 88+1 chapters before I started mine. It's got MC and his group fighting cultivators. MC has the soul of a lady from earth inside him along with a system. The cultivation methods are inhumane and the cultivators shown tend to be quite demonic beings. I'd say, it's pretty great if you really hate the wuxia stupidity and how cultivation is shown to be above everything else, while basic human standards and stuff get thrown under the bridge by the said cultivators and basically every other character. It's there on Scribble Hub (OC), Webnovel and Royal Road.
- The story of how a Cultivation Universe was Conquered by an Interstellar Weapons Platform by Osamaru: Great series. The title says it all. MC is an AI who got too close to a black hole and was chucked into a cultivation world. Unfortunately, the MC has only one job, which he is a genius at, and that is to subjugate planets and their inhabitants. And this guy doesn't care about anything else as long as he can ensure his safety and that he can take over the planet. It's still ongoing but it's going great so far. It's found on Scribble Hub and Royal Road.
- Science/Magic by Aidka: It's a pretty good novel. The beginning is pretty tragic but it gets better later on. MC is not a transmigrator. He was a prince who couldn't use magic and was chucked out. He found a lady from Sci-Fi Earth with psychic powers, studied with her and found that he had pretty OP powers of his own. It's also a Tech vs. magic sort of series. Also, the author has a somewhat erratic release rate. It's found on Webnovel.
- Chrysalis by RinoZ: Anthony (MC) woke up as an ant. It's like Kumo desuga nanika but Anthony has a proper family of monster ants along with some pets, human friends and a lot of comedy. Also, he doesn't try to become human. He likes it as an ant and stays as an ant. But he does set up an ant civilization though... (Webnovel and Royal Road)
- The Almighty A.G.F Entertainment Park by Lumydee: It's got cultivation. But it's still great. It's got all sorts of anime and popular games being presented as cultivation methods. Like, we literally have a realm where you go to "play" God of War or Mortal Combat and upgrade your cultivation. Manga are available as "Cultivation Manuals". Even anime and movies play a similar role. It's really fun to read. Available on Webnovel for free.
- I'm Actually a Cultivation Bigshot by Kinoshita Nakui: It's a Chinese series. But it's really, really funny. MC is a regular guy chucked into a cultivation world with a system. The system forces him to learn many things and once he's done, it shuts down. Now, he's forced to live as a normal man in a house on a mountain while OP cultivators are flying around. Or so he thinks... Actually, he's already so dang broken of a cheat character that everyone and everything is worshipping him. It's just that he doesn't know it yet and no one is brave enough to mention it... They think that he's some ultra OP ancient god who likes acting as an ordinary man and are too afraid to offend him... (Available on Webnovel, but I recommend that you should use some other website since most of the chapters are locked on Webnovel and it costs too much to unlock when you can read them for free by putting a touch more effort.)
So, these were some of the stories that I've been reading. There are many others too. Chinese, Japanese, Korean and English series. Both novels and comics. But I'll mention them some other day.
I'll try to release two chapters next week.
In the meantime, you guys can check out the above-mentioned series. Also, I might try translating this other Japanese series I was reading (but was dropped by the translator) called "The Other World Doesn't Stand a Chance against the Power of Instant Death". It'll be on another website though called "Creative Novels" since they seem to allow for novel uploads and fan translations. (IF I do translate it. But it's not final right now. The old translator was completely okay with it but I haven't really finalized my plans.)
Also, read that series too. It's great. One of my most favourite Japanese LN/WNs out there. The MC is probably the deadliest being in the multiverse.
Anyways, thanks for going through my filler banter.
Best regards,
FearlessCloud01 (The Author)
I look forward to seeing you next week. Unless I come by to reply to comments or you guys end up seeing me somewhere on Discord...
