Chapter 12
As I recall, Seo Jae-gyeom was a tardy person.
Whether it was school or a meeting with a friend, he was always late.
“Hey, Seo Jae-gyeom, why isn’t he here? Didn’t he say he was coming?”
“Call him.’
“I don’t have an answer… Oh, he’s here.”
“Jae-gyeom, why are you so late?”
“Just.”
I had never seen Jae-gyeom run out the door in the morning.
His friends weren’t angry with him for being an hour late. Neither did his teachers.
Only his girlfriends, who would change every two months, were angry with him, but that didn’t change him.
This was probably the reason why his girlfriends changed so often.
Today, for some reason, he was at the school gate on time.
…with Jisoo.
‘Uh, the sun is about to set in the east today, because I saw Seo Jae-gyeom coming on time.’
The gym teacher who was standing at the school gate, coaching the kids, put his arm around Seo Jae-gyeom’s shoulder as he walked in, pretending to be friendly.
Seo Jae-gyeom slapped his arm away in a blatant show of annoyance.
Despite his rude demeanor, the teacher laughed heartily and slapped Seo Jae-gyeom’s back.
Frowning, Seo Jae-gyeom grabbed Jisoo’s bag, which had fallen in the wind.
“That’s heavy.” “I can pick it up.” “Yeah.” “Seo Jae-gyeom, are you coming to school today?” “No.” “How many times a month do you miss school?” “Math teacher’s stomach is too big, I can’t concentrate.”As usual, Jisoo’s adorable bruises are met with a blank look, but it’s probably just because he’s sleepy.
After all, Seo Jae-gyeom left early to go to school with Jisoo.
“Don’t look at his stomach, look at the blackboard.” “How can I not look? It’s in my line of sight.”Jisoo and Seo Jae-gyeom walked past the school gate, chatting casually.
I shrugged off the arm I had raised to call Jisoo.
“Let’s not get in the way.”It would only make things awkward. I deliberately slowed my pace. I ran a hand through my hair and tightened the strap of my bag, stalling for time.
That should have been enough.
I slowly walked through the front of the gym teacher with my voice low.
“Uh! Dahye!” “…Hello.” “Dahye, why are you so groggy this morning? You should be energetic!” “…….” “Strong?”Jisoo and Seo Jae-gyeom, who were leading the way, turn
ed around at the sound of Dahye’s voice.
Seeing me with my face wide open in embarrassment, Jisoo’s expression was also colored with embarrassment.
My gaze shifted to Seo Jae-gyeom, who was standing next to Jisoo.
Seeing me, Seo Jae-gyeom clicked his tongue.
‘What’s wrong with you?’
Kicking his tongue at someone is too much.
“Strong!”Jisoo ran in front of me, away from Seo Jae-gyeom, who was walking arm in arm with her earlier.
“When did you get here?” “A few seconds ago…?” “Why didn’t you call me!” “Oh… I didn’t see you. I didn’t realize you were in front of me.” “Me and Seo Jae-gyeom ran into each other on the way.”Jisoo emphasized again and again that they didn’t come together, that they just bumped into each other on the way.
Seo Jae-gyeom didn’t interrupt.
His head tilted, his gaze turned to me. It was the gaze of an annoying and tired object.
‘Isn’t it too much? I thought you were being kind to me yesterday.’
He’s gone back to his old self overnight.
But that’s how Seo Jae-gyeom is.
Moody and selfish.
It’s not like I don’t understand.
‘He’s with his favorite girl and I’m interrupting him.’
I can’t imagine how bad it must be for him.
When I was silent, Jisoo looked at me.
“Kangda, are you angry…?” “No! Not at all! Why would I be angry? You two could have come together.” “But…” “Really not. I’m in a great mood right now.”I wave my hand and tell her it doesn’t matter, but her expression doesn’t improve. As I watch her fidgeting as if she’s about to commit a huge betrayal, I suddenly realize that I’m not alone.
Maybe Jisoo likes Seo Jae-gyeom, but she hasn’t told him because of me.
If they liked each other during this time and the only reason it didn’t work out was because of me…
Then am I too much of a villain?
“I’m sorry, I was so inconsiderate.” “What are you talking about, it’s not like that.” “Still…” “Kang Dahye.”Seo Jae-gyeom interrupted Jisoo’s repeated apologies.
His irritated gaze swept me up and down.
“Do I need your permission to go to school with Han Jisoo?” “…No.” “Then you don’t. Because you’re not my girlfriend, and you can’t be.” “That’s right.” “Yeah. I see. Then can you go first?” “Sure…”‘I guess I’m the villain…’
Sensing Seo Jae-gyeom’s sensitive mood, Jisoo kept her mouth shut and just looked at him.
I shrugged, but there was nothing I could do, so I was about to leave.
An umbrella came down on my head from behind.
The umbrella descended, shading my vision. The morning sun was shining all around me, but suddenly there were shadows all around me.
I turned around in surprise.
Suddenly, the person who put the umbrella on me in this sunny weather lifted it up to reveal his face.
No, it wasn’t an umbrella.
It was a parasol.
Jung Eun-sung, wearing a lace parasol that was ridiculously small and uncomfortable for his size, was looking down at me.
Tilting it to the side, carefully blocking out the sunlight, he said expressionlessly.
“Hi.” “Hi…”He looks like he’s in <The Temptation of the Wolf>.
The parasol is a prop to maximize the effect of his appearance, right…?
“Is that parasol yours…?” “Uh…”Jeong Eun-sung replied without sincerity and lowered the parasol. He began to fold the flesh of the parasol one by one, ignoring the gazes of the people around him.
I forgot what Jae-gyeom and I were talking about when Eun-sung suddenly appeared with the parasol.
“What the…?” “That’s for the trainee…”Everyone in the school, including the gym teacher, was staring at the 18-year-old male high school student wearing a light blue lace parasol.
“No, but what kind of boy wears a lace parasol…” “Aren’t all sunshades like that?” “I don’t know because I’ve never bought one…”Regardless of what others said, Jung Eun-sung stuffed the carefully folded parasol into his bag.
“UV rays are the main culprit of skin aging.” “I see…” “It’s really easy to be called handsome if you’re tall and have good skin. I’m not handsome at all.”Jung Eun-sung’s gaze landed squarely on Seo Jae-gyeom.
“…….” “…….”‘Did Jung Eun-sung just call Seo Jae-gyeom ugly?’
“Aren’t you going to go? Are you going to keep standing under this intense UV light?” “Uhhh, I have to go….”Dumbfounded, I followed Jung Eun-sung anyway.
Behind me and Jung Eun-sung, Seo Jae-gyeom laughed in disbelief.
Jung Eun-sung, who looked like he was going to rush off alone, surprisingly waited for me. As we changed shoes together and climbed the stairs, he said,
“Do you like such a cheap bastard?” “I don’t,”I sneered at Eun-sung.
“He’s cheap and he’s ugly, but he pretends to be handsome. I’m surprised the world thinks he’s handsome.” “…….”‘Are you a rapper, not a vocalist?’
I shrugged.
“Nah… he’s not usually that bitchy, but he’s a little sensitive today.” “Hmph!”Jung Eun-sung didn’t even pretend to hear.
If I defended Seo Jae-gyeom any further, I knew I’d get dissed too, so I changed the subject.
“Why do you hate Seo Jae-gyeom so much?”It’s not like he had any problems with Seo Jae-gyeom since he transferred to the school a few days ago.
She also doesn’t remember Jung Eun-sung and Seo Jae-gyeom fighting at this time.
Even now, Seo Jae-gyeom didn’t seem interested in him at all.
‘It looks like Jung Eun-sung is the one who is unilaterally stoking the flames of animosity.’
Jung Eun-sung replied to my question without changing his expression.
“I don’t.”
