A Dark Fantasy Spy

Chapter 0

“Hey, you had fun, right?”

My friend who recommended the trash game surely babbled that.

“The Heroes of Dark World”

It was a game with an interesting story, I’ll give it that.

A standard tale of players summoned to a world racing toward oblivion, saving it alongside comrades chosen by the God.

However, the complex and captivating worldview, along with the adrenaline-pumping flashy action and high-quality character illustrations, completely stole the hearts of hipsters with questionable tastes, and the game broke records with its popularity.

Yet, the difficulty that made the community’s guides useless and characters dying left and right, combined with the brutally gloomy setting and reliance on pure skill, were divisive aspects. I felt that too. Sure, I was hooked because the story was fun, but I had to stop when about four keyboards had already met their demise.

You might wonder why I’m sharing this story.

That’s because I got sucked into this trash game. And not as the summoned Hero but as the mundane second son of a noble family.

The problem was that our family was a feeble minor noble with no real power, and I was born as nothing more than a skill-less, naked nobody.

But the real issue was that I had never made it to the end of this game.

In a world where a prophesied apocalypse exists.

With no power, knowledge, or skills, all I had was this body.

Lying in my cradle, I concluded while watching a spinning toy.

Whatever it takes, I must succeed.
