A New Hope Nier

I was awoken by the sound of deep breathing, a soft humming being sung and then I realized there was a soft hand going through my hair. "No... Do not move." A soft whisper spoke out as Rennala's voice hit my ears with desperation.

I stilled and relaxed as Rennala's hand continued through my hair as she resumed humming a quiet and soothing litany. But even as I relaxed a bit, I took in my position with my senses as my face was buried well into Rennala's massive covered chest for her inhuman height of like ten feet tall.

'Alright. Operation, Aggressive Adoption is a success... This isn't what I wanted!"' I mentally screamed as I felt the Rune of Rebirth having attached itself to the Mending Rune I stole from Godrick, and obviously either my Gap Shenagins or Rennala had pushed the Elden Ring shard into my soul but already I could feel a great deal more power as this shard was more powerful then Godricks was.

"Rennala?" I asked slowly as I readied myself for whatever insanity she was going to display.

But instead, her voice was rather cold as she held me ever tighter. "Jake Bariss... My most precious thing in existence. After my last children have passed, along with Radagon abandoning me here. I know what you did to me, as I have met Miquella before."

There was a moment of silence as I absorbed her words and then I said softly. "I transferred your obsession of the amber holding the Rune of Rebirth to myself... Did you?" I started and I heard a hum before she spoke.

"Indeed... I transferred the rune into your soul. But even still..." She started and stopped as she was at a loss for what to do with me.

As she was now aware... She was more than aware of the years she had spent in insanity just holding at amber while endlessly trying to rebirth her children and failing horribly. And while she had these new feelings for me, she knew they were forced upon herself by my meddling.

I took a deep breath and then I said honestly. "Rennala, your son is driven mad by Malenia's Rot, and although it will be difficult I promise to heal him just as I have healed your mind. And as for Ranni. She isn't dead, she is living in the backyard of the Carian Manor."

There was a moment of stunned silence as Rennala seemingly forgot to breathe with her going completely still. And then she took a shuddering breath as she finally let my head free so she could gently but firmly hold my head so she could finally meet my eyes for eye contact.

Our eyes met and I met the eyes of desperation. The eyes of a mother who loved their children beyond literally anything else. And one who got a hint of someone offering a miracle. 

"You... I will not survive such a falsehood Jake Barris should you expel such words in jest." She said wetly and I closed my eyes and as her grip tensed I re-opened my eyes to meet hers.

And I said with utmost honesty. "Rennala, I want you to join my organization as a very powerful mage with countless years of experience in teaching magic and just your power. Whatever feelings you have for me, I won't try to take advantage beyond accepting whatever you need to calm yourself... But I swear that in literally less than twenty minutes. I can fly us to Ranni. Right now Rannala."

Radahn and Ranni were salvageable honestly, Ranni could move her soul into a YoRHa body and I could expel the rot from her brother Radahn's body. Though Preator Rykard on the other hand... Yeah, I can't do anything for him, nor do I particularly care to as he always was an unrepentant monster who was utterly insane.

I mean... The dude fed himself to a divine serpent to take over its body. Being into Vore was just... No.

While I was in the midst of thought Rennala finally sat up from where she was floating in the air with my body laid out on her taller form with her gently laying me down on my feet on the ground as she audibly took a breath as one of her hands firmly latched onto my shoulder. "Very well, Jake Bariss. I will give you my trust this time, as you have come here with honest and good intentions."

She went silent done with idle conversation with her closing her eyes as she held onto my shoulder with a palm as I used some magic to have a large book table fly over for us to sit down on and then we flew outside of her library. And as we flew out, I saw A2 standing over the corpses of a couple dozen of the insane sorcerers from the lower levels of the magic school.

"Come on A2, let's move," I spoke with A2 giving me a funny look at Rennala having moved me so I was sitting on her lap with her chest acting as a pillow for my head. And after a moment of looking around, I raised an eyebrow and pointed at a corner as I said. "Melina, are you coming as well?" I asked dryly as she was trying to climb onto the table in her invisible form.
