Chapter 21: Men are heartless.

As a well-connected individual, Fang could join the cast directly without taking part in an audition. The day before he joined the cast, his agent informed him to go to a studio and take final make-up photos.

When Fang was still in his boy’s band previously, he used to come here to take album promo photos. Therefore, having known this studio well, he came here quite early.

There was another group of people shooting a magazine cover. Casting a casual glance at those people, Fang saw his enemy again.

Fang intended to bypass the guy with his neck shrunk, but unfortunately he was caught right on the spot.

“Why are you going to run away after seeing me?” Han Jiayue, in a small black leather jacket, asked with his arms akimbo. Fang smiled, “I’m afraid some gossip might come up between us.”

Thinking of the matter, Han’s heart still fluttered with fear. He pulled Fang to a corner immediately, and after looking around to make sure no one was there, he said mysteriously, “Can I ask you something?”

Fang sniffed the breath of gossip, so he put aside the enmity, and moved closer, “What’s matter?”

“Em…Your friend, the one looks like a goddess…. Is he a top or bottom?”

“What? Do I know a goddess?”

“Er…It’s Lin Yao. I want to ask you about it. If he is a bottom too, then I’ll give up.”

Fang Qiao got extremely shocked by the information revealed in his words. So it was Han who had dated Lin Yao a few days ago, wasn’t it? Suddenly, Fang got a feeling that the cabbage planted by him had been destroyed by a dog.

“What about Mr. Lu?” Fang asked.

Han looked fierce suddenly, “Humph, I don’t want to please him any more. All men are heartless.”

Fang felt pity for Lu Yanzhou. He was not only dumped by his first love, but also the ‘mistress’ he kept. So miserable!

Xiang, the agent, arrived just on time with a boy who looked handsome but not tall.

Xiang introduced the boy to Fang, “This is Tao, the assistant arranged for you by the company.”

Having cast off walk-on roles, Fang’s position became different indeed. He even got an assistant.

Tao was still a senior college student. He had just begun his field trip when he was arranged for Fang by the company.

Fang took advantage of the time gap in making-up to have a brief talk with his little assistant, finding the boy was good in every aspect except looking somewhat dull.

“Why do you come here to be an assistant?” Fang asked.

The reason given by Tao was quite simple but direct, “One of my relatives let me.”

Fang got interested, “Ah? Is he a star?”

“No, it’s Mr. Lu. I’m his cousin.”

“…”

“He requested me to keep a low profile, and not to let many people know our relations.”

Fang was frightened. How could he get along with an assistant with such a background. “Let me have a talk with Mr. Lu. Actually, I don’t need an assistant.”

“No, it’s the arrangement of my eldest cousin.”

“The big Mr. Lu? He let you be my assistant?!” What was he planning?

Tao was straightforward, “My eldest cousin orders me to keep an eye, and he doesn’t want you to be too intimate with my second elder cousin.”

…It turned out the boy was here to catch adultery.

The shooting went on until the afternoon. Fang’s acting skill was hard to evaluate, but he was quite good at being shot, and even the photographer couldn’t help praising him.

Fang copied a couple of the original photos which hadn’t been retouched yet. After all, it was the first time that he had been qualified to take final makeup photos for a film. He felt good, and was eager to share with others.

He intended to send the photos to Lin Yao at first, but then he thought the guy might be looking at the handsome pictures of Han Jiayue and wouldn’t think highly of his.

Fang pursed his lips, and changed someone to send.

Lu Yanzhou called a few seconds after the photos had been sent out.

“Finished?” the voice on the other end of the phone was lethargic, sounding as if he had just woken up.

“Yes, Mr. Lu.”

“Are you going back to the cake shop in the afternoon? I want to order a take-out.”

“I don’t have a takeaway business.”

“I want a box of egg-tarts. Besides, one cream cake, the kind I ate in your shop last time. Bring them to the company.”

“…”

Fang hang up with anger. It was already 1 pm, and Lu didn’t get up until now. Fang suspected Lu must have fooled around last night.

When he returned to his shop, the girl clerk said the business today was just too good, and all the egg-tarts had been sold out.

At first, Fang thought he could casually pick some desserts and take them to Lu. But then Fang thought the guy was just too picky. What if he didn’t like the desserts? Therefore, Fang had to roll up his sleeves, and make egg-tarts for Lu personally.

When the hot egg-tarts were baked well, it was near 3 pm. Fang was afraid Lu got impatient, so he called a taxi, and hurried to the company.

The taxi pulled over at the gate of the company. Being afraid the cake might be damaged, Fang held it carefully even when he got off the taxi.

At the moment, another luxury black car stopped beside. Two men got out of it before Fang could have a close look.

One of them was Lu dressed in fancy suits, and as for the other guy, Fang hadn’t seen him before. Judging from his appearance, the guy probably was a new star of the company.

Lu wrapped his arm around the star’s waist, and walked into the building as if no one was around. He even didn’t notice the take-away man – Fang Qiao beside him.

Carrying two big bags, Fnag stood blankly on the spot. Somehow, he thought of the words said by Han Jiayue in the afternoon, “All men are heartless.”

Except himself.
