Chapter 95: Chapter 95: Reflections Before Launch—It’s Free, So Take a Look
Hello, everyone! This is Just Like Sunshine.
Tonight at midnight, this novel will officially launch. To celebrate, there will be a ten-chapter release spree. Honestly, my stockpile is running low, so I'm working hard to write more chapters as we speak.
After the launch, I'll guarantee at least three chapters daily.
Having honed my skills through original works, I can usually manage four chapters a day as a baseline. But writing fanfiction comes with its own set of challenges—mainly, the need to thoroughly dive into the source material. It's not just skimming through; it's dissecting and analyzing every detail.
For example, while preparing to write about The Asterisk War, I spent over a month studying the original novel. It spans 17 volumes, and I took nearly 80,000 words of handwritten notes—painstakingly transcribed, word by word. And that's just for one series.
At this point, you probably have a basic understanding of how demanding fanfiction writing can be.
Every day, I spend hours poring over the source material and then hours more writing. It's no different from a full-time job, and honestly, it's more exhausting. At least in a regular job, you can slack off a bit; writing? Not a chance. It feels like I'm burning out, bit by bit.
And even after all this effort, people will still criticize or flame you. I don't even want to dwell on that—it's just part of the job. All I can say is that after writing multiple fanfics, I've come to understand just how thankless this task can be.
This realization became even clearer after trying my hand at original works. While my skill at the time wasn't quite up to par, the experience gave me deeper insight.
The time I spend researching for a single fanfiction is enough to outline multiple original novels.
It's draining, and the results aren't exactly stellar. The ceiling for multi-world fanfiction is pretty low, and it's not surprising. So, barring unforeseen circumstances, this will likely be my last multi-world fanfiction.
After I finish this project, I probably won't start another one like it.
That said, while I can't promise four or five guaranteed chapters daily, bonus chapters are still on the table.
Here are the rules for bonus chapters starting after the launch:
For every 500 monthly votes, I'll add one chapter.
Based on the current trajectory, the average subscription should be around 1,500. For every additional 100 subscriptions, I'll add one chapter.
For alliance leaders? You'll get three bonus chapters.
I know these might seem like high thresholds, but I simply don't have the energy to handle more.
Lastly, let me share the roadmap for this novel.
The Fate series will serve as the main world, with later arcs exploring singularities and Lostbelts.
The first volume has about 30 chapters left. It will establish the protagonist's ambitions, the roots of his motives, and the overarching plot of the novel.
The worlds the protagonist will traverse after that include:
The Asterisk War
Jujutsu Kaisen
Slave of the Magic Capital's Elite Troops
Overlord
One Punch Man
Problem Children Are Coming from Another World, Aren't They?
And unless something changes, the story will likely conclude with either Saint Seiya or Gurren Lagann.
That's about it.
As always, I humbly ask for your support, especially for the first chapter's subscription after launch. It will heavily impact the recommendations this novel receives. I've gone all-in with a ten-chapter release—please consider subscribing, even if it's just out of generosity.
Thank you all for your continued support.
