chapter 31
02. A visitor from the future (6)
A sudden visit at night.
Standing in front of the front door, Yoon Seo-hee was taking a deep breath as if she were tired.
Suddenly, I realized that it was time for the shuttle bus to be cut off.
“Did you really run all the way here? From the station to my house?”
“It’s okay, it took a while! You know I’m fast, right?”
Did she cover the distance by running? Even if she pretended to be fine, the flushed cheeks and her bouncing chest told her that she had jumped with all her might.
First of all, I moved out of my way to let Yoon Seo-hee come in.
“Come in first.”
“Really? Thank you~”
Yoon Seo-hee enters the house with a smile. And our gazes met with Baek Ji-soo, who had blank eyes.
“Lee Jin-ah. Is he him?”
“Right. Come to think of it, it’s the same battle class. Do you know each other?”
“No, I’ve seen his face a few times, but I don’t know his name.”
It was only for a moment, but I felt as if Yoon Seo-hee’s eyes had narrowed.
As if it was an illusion, she raises her hand with a bright smile.
“I was very worried because someone had collapsed. So I bought some things I need.”
Yoon Seo-hee could tell that she stopped by a pharmacy because she was carrying a plastic bag with the name of a nearby pharmacy printed on it.
“Did you come all the way here to give me this? I can do it anyway.”
A lot of medicine is already available at home, and the condition of the blank is well enough.
“I couldn’t stay at home alone because I was so nervous.”
Yoon Seo-hee answers with a smile in a tone that accentuates the front part strangely.
For some reason, I felt a thorn in that smile.
Is it because I hung up the phone too soon? Come to think of it, I may have been a little inconsiderate.
“Sorry. Haven’t you introduced yourself yet? He is white Baek Ji-soo, this is-“
“Yoon Seo-hee.”
At that moment, Baek Ji-soo, who had been quiet, suddenly opened his mouth.
“Right?”
At that serious tone, both I and Yoon Seo-hee were at a loss for words.
The unwavering upright gaze and confident voice were close to reaffirming what we already know.
“Yes, I am Seohee Yoon….”
“I was looking for you.”
“Me?”
Yoon Seo-hee opens her eyes round. And she faces Baek Ji-soo and me alternately.
A gaze as if asking ‘what the hell is this situation?’.
However, there was no way she could know that it was me, so she shook her head.
I don’t know how to react to sudden situations either. I heard that he was looking for someone, but I couldn’t believe that the person Baek Ji-soo was looking for was Yoon Seo-hee.
It was an amazing coincidence.
“Why did you find me?”
“That is.”

Jisoo Baek glances at me cautiously. There was a slight guilt in those eyes.
“… I’m sorry, but I want to talk to you alone. I want to rent a room for a while, is that okay?”
Is this something I can’t tell you again?
I nodded with a puzzled expression. I feel a little bit, but what can I do?
However, Yoon Seo-hee opened her mouth with a displeased look as if she thought something was wrong.
“Wait. Why can’t I tell Jinyi?”
“It has nothing to do with him.”
“This is Lee Jin’s home, and he said he helped you when you collapsed. But why doesn’t it matter?”
At those words, Baek Ji-soo weakly lowered her head. The shadowy expression on his face deepened the feeling of guilt he felt as a child.
Did he feel sorry for thinking he was alienating me?
“Seo-hee, I’m fine.”
“But….”
“Let’s see if there is something important to say. I have no intention of forcing myself to listen.”
Baek Ji-soo, who had been keeping her mouth shut, raises her head again.
“I am sorry that I cannot tell you the circumstances. But Yoon Seo-hee, if you listen to it, you will surely understand.”
“Why do you think so?”
“It’s about your secret.”
Yoon Seo-hee’s expression hardens. I did too. A story about Yoon Seo-hee’s secret?
A story about the motivation to become a hunter… In other words, Yoon Seo-hee’s expression was unusual. It seemed like there was more to the story that I didn’t know about.
Yoon Seo-hee pressed her forehead tightly as if her head hurt from the sudden situation, then she let out a short sigh and looked at me with an apologetic expression.
“Lee Jin-ah, I’m sorry. I think we should talk a little bit.”
I nodded my head calmly because I had intended to put them that way from the beginning.
Baek Ji-soo went into the guest room first, as if he was going to talk in the guest room he was using.
Yoon Seo-hee, who was following her, stops in front of her entrance.
“Huh? This room, the one I used last time….”
“Right. I had to put him to bed because he was not feeling well. Why?”
“… No. Anything?”
Yoon Seo-hee made a strange sound of hmmm, hmmm, and as if she didn’t like something so much, she went into the room and shut the door.
Click. I was left alone in the hallway with the sound of the door closing.
“… ….”
What is the relationship between the two?
It seems that Yoon Seo-hee is seeing Baek Ji-soo for the first time, but Baek Ji-soo was looking for Yoon Seo-hee and even knew about her secret.
It’s a secret of Yoon Seo-hee that even I, who thought we had become quite close with, didn’t know.
I’d be lying if I said I didn’t care, but I don’t mean to force myself to listen.
It is natural that everyone has a secret. I didn’t want to do anything that might break the current relationship because I didn’t take my friendship with Yoon Seo-hee too badly.
I’ll tell you in detail when the time comes. And if not, then what? It’s not like there shouldn’t be any secrets between friends.
Thought so, I leaned against the hallway and waited for the conversation between the two to end.
“Huh?”
Creepy. In an instant, goose bumps ran down my spine. The source was inside the room where the two entered.
What is it? I feel the air around me rapidly cooling.
The temperature of the house is obviously the same, but what is this chilliness I can feel?
No way, live?
[…] Where the heck is that… Who are you… !]
[Future… demons… I… ]
The sound of two people talking leaks out in the quiet hallway.
As if the conversation had been heated, Yoon Seo-hee’s emotional voice resonated sparsely.
“… ….”
Could it be that even I felt goosebumps because of the life that Yoon Seo-hee shot?
No matter how long it’s been since I’ve pulled out the aura sword, I can’t believe I’m already at the point where I can shoot out the life force, which is the intangible stage of aura.
Yoon Seo-hee’s ridiculous talent was once again admirable.
But that’s about it, and I didn’t want to experience the life I’ve only heard about.
In front of the door in a cold sweat, I took two or three steps away. Not only did she not want to eavesdrop on the conversation, she didn’t have the confidence to take her own life, even indirectly.
‘What the hell are they talking about inside?’
It must have been only for a short time that the killing spree had been released, and the goose bumps on his skin quickly disappeared.
The conversation between the two seemed to have matured to some extent, and after that, time passed quietly without any more life-threatening incidents.
About 30 minutes must have passed.

Jumping. I heard the door open and Baek Ji-soo first came out into the hallway.
But I couldn’t see Yoon Seo-hee.
“I’m done talking. I’ll be on my way.”
“It’s late at night, isn’t it dangerous to be alone?”
At those words, Baek Ji-soo shook his head slowly.
“It’s okay. Take care of her more than me.”
As she said that, she glanced behind her back. It was her grave tone, but I could faintly feel her concern and pity for Yoon Seo-hee.
“You probably have a lot to think about.”
Even Baek Ji-soo, who said that, had a very thoughtful expression on her face.
“Binary.”
“Huh?”
Her eyes were narrowly frowning, and she suddenly opened her mouth and called her my name.
“… Right? I haven’t heard your name properly yet.”
“Oh, that’s right. Kim Ijin. I haven’t introduced myself yet.”
I know Baek Ji-soo, but she doesn’t know me, so she should have revealed her name first, but she didn’t care because she wasn’t too excited about the shocking meeting.

Jisoo Baek briefly bowed her head.
“Thank you for today. I’ll pay you back, Lee Jin.”
“What are you indebted to? Anyone else would have done that, not me.”
By chance, her grandfather and I found her first. She wouldn’t know if she hadn’t seen it, because a person fell and couldn’t just walk past.
But Jisoo Baek shook her head as if she didn’t agree with that.
“No, even so, it is definitely thanks to you that I was able to meet Yoon Seo-hee so quickly. I owe you three times. I must pay off my debt I’ll come back later.”
With that said, she opened the front door and went outside.
I thought of her leaving, seeing her off.
Why three times?
Even if one was to save someone from falling down, and the other was to allow me to meet Yoon Seo-hee, I couldn’t feel the connection with the other one.
Oh, no way. Did she say that she cooked porridge?
Somehow, it tasted really good….
After confirming that Baek Ji-su had completely left, I turned my back and headed for her guest room.
It is because Yoon Seo-hee did not come out of her dotong.
What the heck did you talk about inside and why are you still there?
“Are you Seohee?”
Smart. After knocking lightly, open the door and go inside.
As if the light hadn’t been turned on yet, in a room where only the moonlight shone through, she blankly stared out the window with her own eyes.
Sensing her presence, Yoon Seo-hee slowly turned her head.
“Ah. Lee Jin-ah.”
“Is the talk over?”
I reached for her switch, thinking of turning on the light, but Yoon Seo-hee shook her head as if telling her not to.
She then gently tapped the seat next to her bed with her hand.
As if to come over here and sit down.
“Can you stay with me for a minute? I have something to say.”
