"Found...… Timing...…"

"Fuck."

Bjorn's arms were trembling from pain since the monster's kick was really dangerous…

I can't let him hit me another time…

Bjorn calmed his trembling hands… his mindset also cooled down, as well as his focus. His sole focus returned to his enemy, the monster which is a Minotaur and Ligerfang combination… 

His trembling arms stopped. The pain was now transferred to the periphery of his mind.

He looked at the monster's hands… It has no wounds. 

Bjorn knew that he had slashed the monster with Burst yet…. It has no wound…. He concluded that the skin of this particular abomination is tough as fuck.

Bjorn readied himself again. This time, he wanted to take the initiative… so he did.

However…. The abomination knew Bjorn's timing…. 

The monster appeared in front of Bjorn, at the same time he activated his skill.

Bjorn was forced to dodge…. and dodge he did. He immediately sidestepped backwards towards his left… and as soon as he did that, an afterimage of a claw skid past Bjorn's previous place.

Whilst dodging, Bjorn had managed to continue activating his skill.

Bjorn slashed his sword but… the monster had managed to dodge. It jumped backwards, and then it lowered its stance, and rushed towards Bjorn.

Bjorn was caught off guard. His slash was evaded, and his stance is currently awkward…

Biting on crumbs, Bjorn lowered his stance and came closer towards his sword-wielding hand, his right hand. He then immediately twisted his sword, which is now pointing downward, put it close to his body, and blocked the incoming strike…

Bjorn readied himself to take the incoming attack but… the monster disappeared in front of Bjorn.

He then felt goosebumps all over his body, he knew…. His body knew… His body is shouting towards Bjorn's mind to dodge… he needs to dodge… since a handful of claws was coming behind him. 

The claws are inches away from Bjorn… He knew he needed to dodge it. So he did… He immediately nodded his head making it so that the claws went past Bjorn's head… 

He was lucky… and Bjorn knew that he was lucky… It just so happened that the monster's target was Bjorn's head…. He knew that it was a 50/50 chance… The monster may have targeted Bjorn's body, in which case…. He might already be dead….

Pushing aside such thoughts, Bjorn knew he needed to counter attack. 

Bjorn immediately stepped his right foot forward, he then jumped and spun sideways, his sword also slashed upwards.

A distance was created between the two…. Instead of waiting, the monster rushed towards Bjorn. 

It immediately appeared in front of Bjorn and it initiated a kick. Bjorn dodged sidewards and activated his skill.

[Bu-

However…. The kick was just a diversion. It immediately punched Bjorn, which fortunately, was blocked by Bjorn's sword.

In blocking the monster's punch, Bjorn forgoes his skill.

Bjorn looked at his sword, and noticed that his sword now has noticeable cracks in it…

Damn… this is the sword my foster father gave me….

Bjorn readied himself again… He knew not to put any more stress on his sword, and just commit to dodging the monster's attacks…

I really need to find a faster way of casting my skill…..

Back to the people outside of the circular barrier of energy.

"Captain, we could not find a way to decode this barrier… We can't dispel it….."

Finn, the captain of the Loki Familia, put his right hand below his chin. He then tried to think of a way to bypass the energy… in order to save their newbie.

After a while, he failed to think of something…

"We… we cannot do anything about this anymore… What we can do is just put our sole trust in our newbie…"

Hearing this, the physical attackers vented their anger towards the barrier itself. They attacked it… Even though the dungeon itself shook from every attack they made, the barrier itself remains sturdy…

The physical attackers breathed hard… They took a small break in order to watch their newbie.

"Hmm…. is this really our newbie?"

Tiona asked. Her curiosity was through the roof… It was only 2 weeks since they last saw their newbie but… he definitely is stronger compared to them on their first 2 weeks in the dungeon….

They knew that their newbie is destined to be a great figure in the future…. But in order to be a great figure in the future, he first needed to be alive….

So they poured continuous attacks again and again on the barrier.

Bjorn was continually dodging the monster's attacks. He has no opportunity to activate his skill since the monster always intervenes whenever he tries to activate it….

He knew he needed to do something about it….

While dodging, he thought about how to improve his skill…. He thought about it a lot but… he knew it was not possible in his current situation… He needed something… something that will hopefully change the tempo of the fight….

After a while of dodging, he had a eureka moment.

Burst… is just putting passive mind or unactivated mind into a specific part of the user's body, making it active, and then strengthening it to the point that one could do a supernatural feat with it…. If my problem was that the activation time was too long... what if… I… instill activated mind throughout my body….? And then,, if I needed to, say for example, go forward faster…. I would just move the already active mind within my body, towards my feet!

So he tried it. He tried if his hypothesis would work ... and it worked…. First try.

He felt mind circulating throughout his body… It was ticklish, yet warm… 

He then tried to put mind into his feet in order to go forward… and less than a tenth of a second, which is also a tenth of his previous casting speed, he had managed to distance himself away from the enemy.

"Wow…"

"....... Huh...….?"

The monster was mind boggled. The previously slow human in front of him had managed to be fast….

Bjorn, on the other hand, was excited. He knew that this might be his hope of defeating the monster in front of him… So he readied himself again.

Hmm… I'll name this skill… [Burst: Continuous}

He stepped his left foot forward, and instantly, Bjorn reached the monster. 

He then moved his activated mind to go towards his arms and hands. With this, he slashed his sword sideways, his target?, the enemy's knees.

Bjorn's slash had hit his enemy's knees, but only a small gash appeared on its knees. 

Bjorn then inputted mind into his feet again, and jumped backwards. There, in his previous place, a large claw mark appeared on the ground…

Bjorn inputted mind into his feet again, and rushed towards the monster's right side. He then slashed his sword, which also resulted in a slight gash.

Putting mind into his feet again, he retreated away from his enemy… 

Angered, and not wanting to let go of its prey, the monster jumped towards Bjorn. 

Seeing this, Bjorn also pushed his mind into his feet, moving in breakneck speed, towards the enemy's back. Bjorn slashed again, but the enemy had managed to block Bjorn's slash with its claws. 

It counterattacked Bjorn, to which Bjorn dodged, by moving backward.

It was like a cat and mouse chase. 

Bjorn always nearly dodges the enemy's attacks…. It was odd…. But, he paid it no mind… He just continued dodging.

Little-by-little, the monster's skin was slowly being chipped. Its epidermis in its arms are slashed, with its muscles being shown.

Bit-by-bit, the monster slowly slows down…. 

Until…

*CRACK*

Both Bjorn and the monster heard a crack. They then turned their head towards the direction of where the sound came from.

Bjorn saw his familia, shocked, but still raining down blows and hits on the barrier. 

It was a small crack, but it was still a crack. It was hope. Hope to rescue their newbie.

On the other hand, the monster was silent. 

After a while, it spoke.

"Enough.... Play....."

Bjorn tilted his head in confusion. He can feel that the monster is now in its last legs… so what the fuck is this fucker saying?

Bjorn inputted mind into his feet and sword, to which he flew forward. 

His slash connected but.... 

*CLANG!*

Bjorn's sword was broken….. He was startled..... The monster had managed to put its claws on Bjorn's sword path….

He intended to immediately move away but… the monster's claws were fast…. 

It grabbed Bjorn at the back of his neck, lifted him and squeezed it. 

Bjorn dropped his sword to pry the monster's hands off his neck but… it was still to no avail…. 

It was suffocating… asphyxiating… 

He tried his best to remove the large hands that were wrung around his neck but… it did not move an inch…

After a while of struggling, the monster decided it had enough. It threw Bjorn towards the wall of the dungeon. 

*BAM!*

Bjorn's body was ragdolled into the wall…. Rocks flew outwards, Bjorn's body was indented into the wall…. His consciousness is fading due to the severe damage to his body… Blood flowed down from his head, his eyesight turned to red… 

He kept on maintaining his remaining consciousness but… alas… he found himself unconscious...…..

Yow! Sorry for the late chapter!!!!!!!!! 

I was too busy in life in general…. My laptop also broke.. Damn.

The issue with my laptop is the SSD… It keeps on failing… plus it is also an old SSD so…. It's time to change. My new NVME is coming tomorrow hehe. Luckily, my laptop has a slot for it.

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed the chapter! 

Also, I'm sorry if there are any mistakes in grammar, spelling, or etc…. I am using my old Laptop….. It has a problem with its monitor… Literally, all I can see in my screen as I type this chapter and this section is fucking bright green.... So please forgive me hehe.
