Chapter 11 - Horrible imagination (2)
An Yun drank his medicine in one gulp. Then, under Xiao Cui’s somewhat nervous gaze, the two of them moved the jar to the yard to avoid being unable to see clearly the contents of the jar due to the dim light.
Then, An Yun was ready to open the treasure he had been guarding for several days.
Xiao Cui thought she would be the first person to see the fulang making bayberry mash with her own eyes. She was very excited at this time, and there was a bit of blush on her face. She looked at An Yun with burning eyes, waiting for him to open the jar that seemed to hold the treasure of the two of them.
It seemed he was infected by Xiao Cui’s excitement. An Yun, who was not a little excited at first, unconsciously became nervous.
When they were about to open the jar, they both swallowed their saliva at the same time and stared at the jar closely.
.
Not far away, Zang Ya was in the courtyard.
Zang Ya was sitting on the highest balcony, listening to Qing Yue report that she had cleaned up the things in his yard during his absence.
Zang Ya just felt a little bored listening to these things. As his eyes moved, through the square hollow carved window, he saw An Yun and Xiao Cui in the yard not far away.
With just one glance, Zang Ya’s eyes were attracted, and he could only listen to Qing Yue’s report with a little carelessness.
Qing Yue saw that his eyes were attracted to other matters, so she subconsciously stopped talking and turned her head to look in that direction.
Qing Yue was not too surprised to see the person the young master was looking at was An Yun, and she even had a feeling this was indeed the case.
Through the square carved window, An Yun and Xiao Cui seemed to be reflected in a painting, and every move was in Zang Ya’s eyes.
Zang Ya looked at the two people who seemed anxious and excited around a jar. He frowned slowly, and a look of doubt gradually appeared in his eyes.
“What are they doing?”
Qing Yue looked over intently. She was a little confused at first, then shook her head, saying she didn’t know. Then she quickly thought of something. Suddenly, her eyes lit up, and she said warmly, “Last time before the young master left, didn’t you issue a reward for wine? An Fulang seems to be so excited right now, his wine probably is done successfully.”
Zang Ya issued a reward order. Whether they were related to Zang Ya or not, in order to gain connections with Zang Ya, everyone tried their best and sent a lot of wine to Zang Ya.
Those wines were all treasures.
Qing Yue thought of this and looked at An Yun, who appeared very expectant not far away. She couldn’t help but feel a little pity for him, fearing the fulang would be disappointed this time.
Thinking of An Yun taking the things over with great enthusiasm but getting unsatisfactory results, and a look of disappointment on that beautiful face, Qing Yue actually felt a little unbearable in her heart.
.
After Zang Ya heard Qing Yue’s words, he recalled what she had said from memory.
Zang Ya stared at the smile on An Yun’s face, unable to comprehend why An Yun could appear so bright and happy while he was very weak, probably could die with one slap, as though he could be knocked down by a gust of wind.
Zang Ya couldn’t grasp it. He felt An Yun was beyond his understanding, yet he was the first person Zang Ya ever showed concern.
Zang Ya glanced at the little shuanger, scooped something from a jar, and tasted it with the young maid, both of them seeming to glow happier.
Zang Ya couldn’t explain why, but looking at this scene made him suddenly uneasy.
“Qing Ri.”
“Yes.” The silent servant standing nearby stood up, ready to obey his young master’s commands.
“Go to the gate and wait to see if he brings something today.” If it was meant for him, it must be delivered as soon as possible. Otherwise, he would feel unhappy. If he was unhappy, others wouldn’t be happy either.
.
Unaware that someone was watching him nearby, An Yun focused entirely on the jar before him.
With bated breath, he opened the jar and instead of the anticipated sour aroma, a sweet and refreshing fragrance greeted him.
An Yun’s eyes widened in surprise, swiftly lifting the lid fully to reveal a potent wine scent tinged with fruity notes.
An Yun knew he had succeeded.
“Fulang, is it done?”
An Yun snapped out of his reverie and responded quickly: “Yes! Let’s take it out now.”
“Okay.”
They got to work immediately, converting the bayberry mash into wine. The soaked glutinous rice grains, now a vibrant pink, were removed, leaving behind a pink-purple liquid.
Xiao Cui admired the discarded lees, sighing: “Fulang, these lees are so beautiful! Such a vivid pink, like flower seeds. This wine must be exquisite, not only fragrant in aroma but surely tastes divine.”
An Yun, originally delighted with his bayberry mash wine, chuckled at Xiao Cui’s exaggeration: “You haven’t even tasted it yet, and you claim it taste divine?”
Xiao Cui blushed and murmured, “Fulang has the aura of a deity, so naturally, his wine will taste divine.”
An Yun smiled, scooped a spoonful of the wine, poured a small cup for himself and Xiao Cui, and they both took a sip.
As soon as it entered the throat, the fruity flavor was sweet and the alcoholic flavor was strong, mixing with each other, like an adventure that strayed into the depths of lotus flowers, with a long aftertaste.
When An Yun tasted it, he found the taste was exactly the same as what he had eaten when he was a child. Maybe even because the ingredients here was purely natural and pollution-free, the taste of the bayberry mash was even more mellow.
An Yun felt stable. Regardless of whether this wine could catch the young master’s eye, he would definitely receive some attention if he took it.
