After Dressing Up As a Little Fulang

Chapter 52 - No Skill (1)

At the fishing stall, other people’s paper scoops were either broke before they could catch anything, or they managed to catch one or two fish before the paper broke. No one had ever fished them out one after another like Zang Ya.

In Zang Ya’s hands, the paper scoop didn’t even look like it was made of paper. It was so easy for him to use. With three strokes, five strokes, and two, he made a lot of progress.

At first, no one noticed their movements. Occasionally, when people looked over, they just thought that the young master and his companion were really good-looking. But once they saw the speed at which Zang Ya was fishing, they couldn’t help but exclaim in surprise.

As Zang Ya caught more and more small fish, the crowd of onlookers grew larger. Some people couldn’t help but exclaim when they saw Zang Ya catch three fish at once.

Others who were also fishing saw Zang Ya’s movements and put down their torn paper scoops. They looked at the few fish in their own bamboo tubes, then at Zang Ya’s almost full bamboo tube, and felt a pang of jealousy.

One man couldn’t hold back and raised his head, looking toward the stall owner. With a tone of dissatisfaction, he said, “Boss, why is he fishing so smoothly, but we can’t catch anything no matter what? Did you give him a different scoop? Is his scoop made of cloth and ours made of paper?”

The stall owner, an old man over 60, had just seen Zang Ya making such a big catch and felt a mix of admiration and doubt.

Hearing the customer’s complaint, the old stall owner almost wondered if he had given the wrong scoop. Otherwise, how could this young man be so skilled?

However, the old stall owner couldn’t admit to this. With a forced smile, he said, “No, I don’t know this young master. How could I make it easier for him? All the paper scoops I gave out are the same.”

As soon as the old stall owner finished speaking, the first paper scoop in Zang Ya’s hand finally broke. By that time, more than 20 small fish had already been placed in his bamboo tube.

Zang Ya looked at the broken paper scoop, tossed it aside, and picked up a second one that was still intact, continuing to fish, completely ignoring what others thought.

Seeing Zang Ya throw the used paper scoop aside, the old stall owner quickly picked it up. After examining it, he still couldn’t believe it wasn’t made of cloth nor replaced by someone. It was his original paper scoop!

But how did this person catch so many fish using such an ordinary paper scoop?

The old stall owner thought hard, unable to figure out the reason. The crowd, watching the excitement, also inspected the scoop, but after staring at it for a long time, they couldn’t see any mystery.

Finally, everyone’s attention shifted back to Zang Ya. They soon noticed that he seemed to have grasped some sort of technique. While earlier he had been fishing one fish at a time, he was now catching two at once.

The crowd watched in awe as he used up the last paper scoop. Only then did they realize that his bamboo tube was nearly full, densely packed with fish.

Zang Ya looked at the fish and counted their number in his head. He seemed quite satisfied. Then he handed the bamboo tube forward, directly giving it to An Yun, saying, “These are all for you.”

In the gaze of everyone, under the dim light, An Yun saw Zang Ya handing him the bamboo tube of fish, but Zang Ya’s eyes were fixed on his, gazing intently.

Those exotic, captivating eyes were full of seriousness. When he stared at someone, it felt as though that person became his entire world. If one wasn’t careful, they could easily fall into them.

“It turns out this young man caught so many fish just to please his companion. How thoughtful!” someone said.

“Tsk, tsk, tsk, look at his companion! He’s so good-looking, no wonder he’s so interested in pleasing him. If I had such a beautiful person, I’d do my best to make him happy,” remarked another.

“That’s right! If I had such a good-looking fulang, I’d be more devoted to him than this young master,” someone else chimed in.

“Come on, you guys, are you worthy of such a beauty? Did you even look at the accessories on that young master? They are all priceless. If you want a beauty, you have to see if you are worthy of it.”

An Yun looked at the fish that Zang Ya handed over, and his face turned red as he heard the comments coming from all directions. After thinking for a moment, he finally took the bamboo tube and thanked Zang Ya seriously, saying, “Thank you.”

Seeing An Yun take the things, Zang Ya felt satisfied. He nodded and said, “Yes.”

He had come to this stall just to catch fish. Now that he had caught so many, with so many people watching, An Yun still felt a little embarrassed. He whispered to Zang Ya, “Shall we go and see other places?”

Zang Ya had no objections to leaving. He had only started fishing to accompany An Yun, so now that he heard An Yun wanted to leave, he readily agreed.

The two stood up, preparing to move to the next stall, but they were stopped again.

An Yun was shocked. He hadn’t expected anyone would dare to stop Zang Ya here.

Evidently, Zang Ya felt the same way. He hadn’t expected anyone to dare block him. Slowly, he raised his head to look at the person standing in their way, curious about who it was.
