After Dressing Up As a Little Fulang

Chapter 9 - Changing New Furniture (1)

An Yun looked at the maid who was accompanied by two little maids, clearly of high status. He didn’t quite understand why she was here, so he approached cautiously and asked with confusion, “What are you doing here, miss?”

The maid didn’t expect to be addressed this way by An Yun. She was momentarily stunned before flashing a bright smile.

“Fulang, please don’t call me miss. My name is Qing Yue. I serve the young master closely, and I’ve come here on his orders.”

As for what exactly her orders were or why she was here, Qing Yue didn’t elaborate. Instead, she simply asked An Yun to accompany her back.

Upon hearing that they were heading back to his own courtyard rather than Zang Ya’s place, An Yun immediately felt less anxious. He nodded and followed her back.

During their walk, Qing Yue casually inquired, “I wonder what An Fulang was doing in the kitchen just now?”

An Yun felt a bit embarrassed at the question but didn’t evade it. He replied honestly, “I heard that the young master was planning a barbecue and was looking for a wine to pair with it. Knowing a wine that suits the season and complements barbecue, I thought making it would help ease his worries and show my gratitude for his care all these days. However, I lack resources; everything I have is provided by the young master, and I don’t have a space to make the wine. So, I intended to borrow from the kitchen.”

“Did you manage to borrow it?”

“No, Chef Ding didn’t seem to trust my cooking skills very much, and he was worried that I would burn myself,” An Yun shook his head with a hint of pity in his tone. “Although my cooking skills weren’t very good, I wasn’t that stupid. However, Chef Ding thought otherwise. If I had gotten hurt there, he would have been implicated, so it was reasonable for him to reject me.”

Although Qing Yue looked young, she had been training with Zang Ke since she was eight years old, and then she was placed under Zang Ya’s care.

Therefore, Qing Yue still had some ability to read people. She looked at the distressed An Yun and saw that he really didn’t resent Chef Ding, nor did he want to apply bad light to Chef Ding, just a little troubled.

Qing Yue felt that the shuanger in front of her was somewhat interesting. Not only did he resemble an Immortal, but his thoughts were also so transparent. No wonder even the uncertain young master treated him so differently.

.

As he entered the courtyard, An Yun had forgotten his worries. Looking at the sudden increase in people in the courtyard, a bit of surprise appeared on his face, not knowing what was going on.

Seeing this, Qing Yue said slowly, “Fulang, I didn’t tell you just now. Before you moved in, this place had been vacant for a long time. I’m afraid the furnishings here have become old. I’ve come here on the young master’s orders to change your furniture and to ask if there’s anything you’re uncomfortable with.”

An Yun looked at the servants in front of him, quickly shook his head, and said sincerely, “No, I feel very satisfied.”

He ate other people’s things, used other people’s things, and relied on others to save his life. How could he be dissatisfied? However, the place where he lived was indeed pretty good. He estimated that it was the life of a middle-level family in this era.

If she hadn’t met An Yun before, Qing Yue would have thought they were perfunctory words, but she didn’t actually think so in her heart.

After meeting An Yun, Qing Yue felt maybe An Yun truly thought everything here was complete and he didn’t need anything else.

Thinking about her young master’s request that the fulang in front of her should not be cold, hot or blow the cold wind. This was like a treatment for a beauty deep inside the house, Qing Yue had an idea.

Qing Yue didn’t dare to guess what the young master thought about the fulang in front of her, but she knew that her young master’s orders were above all else, and she would arrange whatever the young master ordered.

So, after hearing what An Yun said, Qing Yue showed a shallow smile to the person in front of her and said warmly, “In that case, if you didn’t have any requirements at the moment, I would proceed with the arrangements according to the specifications set for the house. If fulang has other requests later, just let me know.”

An Yun didn’t understand what she meant but then he heard Qing Yue inviting him aside. He found a place to sit and then watched as the servants who had been standing in the yard began to get busy.

They repaired the roof, replaced furnishings, and restocked supplies.

An Yun watched them busy in an orderly manner. They looked a bit like ants carrying food, but they were not the small black-brown creatures; rather, they were a group of people wearing green and white maid uniforms and servant uniforms.

Qing Yue looked young, but she was extremely organized in her work. Even the busiest tasks became extremely orderly under her direction. While overseeing the arrangements, Qing Yue even ordered someone to bring tea and snacks to An Yun, as if she was concerned he might get hungry while observing.

Initially, An Yun felt a little embarrassed. It didn’t seem proper to eat here while others were working.

However, soon An Yun noticed that the maids and servants who came were focused on their tasks and didn’t even glance at him.

This reassured him and he began to feel more at ease.
