Shao Dong held Fang Mei and they headed towards Tang Hui’s house. The two houses were actually located not too far from each other.

Tang Hui worked full-time on producing the practice workbooks now. Qiao Mei had a discussion with Tang Hui’s school management and they agreed to give her the position of head of department. It was just a title and there was no need for her to teach any classes. The requirement was that any practice workbooks which Tang Hui produced would have to be sent to the school immediately, giving priority to the students in the school.

Now that Tang Hui had a guaranteed salary, additional income in royalties and a lot of freedom at work, she looked even younger and more beautiful than before. It would not be an exaggeration to say that if Xia Guang and Tang Hui walked on the streets together, no one would doubt her if she said that she was Xia Guang’s daughter!

“Open the door!” Shao Dong shouted as he knocked on the door.

Tang Hui was shocked by the sudden loud sound. She stood at the door warily and asked, “Who is it?”

“I’m Shao Yin’s younger brother! You must be my sister’s new mother-in-law! Hurry up and open the door!” Shao Dong shouted.

All the neighbors stuck their heads out. Shao Dong’s goal was to let everyone hear him. He didn’t care about how the people in the surroundings looked at him. Fang Mei was exactly like Shao Dong. She put her hands on her hips and shouted, “Hurry up and open the door! If you don’t open the door, we’ll force our way in! We’re here today to seek justice for our sister!”

After Tang Hui moved in, she had maintained a good relationship with all the neighbors. However, she was still a new resident after all and they did not know one another too well. These neighbors were still hesitant about whether they should go forward and render help.

After hesitating for a while, Tang Hui opened the door. She looked at Shao Dong and Fang Mei and said calmly, “If you need anything, go and look for Xia Xing and Shao Yin.”

“You’re the one we’re looking for! You vixen! You must have bewitched my sister’s father-in-law! That’s why he insists on marrying you! He even buys such a nice big house for you to live in! Yet my sister and brother-in-law have to fend for themselves in the streets! That place is not fit for humans to live in! Do you even have any conscience!” Fang Mei said as she pointed at Tang Hui.

Shao Yin hurriedly stood in front of Tang Hui to block Shao Dong and Fang Mei from moving forward. She was worried that the two of them would act rashly and hurt Tang Hui. Although Tang Hui had always been indifferent to her, Tang Hui had never made things difficult for her. Furthermore, Tang Hui was one of Qiao Mei’s allies. She was still counting on Qiao Mei and Xia Wen to solve Xia Xing’s current issue! At this juncture, nothing must happen to Tang Hui!

“Younger Brother, Younger Sister-in-law, do calm down. This is all just a misunderstanding! Can we talk about it?” Shao Yin begged.

“Elder Sister! You don’t have to be afraid of her! We’ll back you up today! It’s just the Xia family! What’s so great about them! Even if we don’t have as much money as them, we can’t let others bully us!” Shao Dong said self-righteously.

“Among us, we’ve already discussed the matter of the house. The new house is currently under construction,” Tang Hui explained.

“What about during this period of time! Where can my elder sister go during this period of time!” Shao Dong said.

“Haven’t they already rented a house? They can just stay there for the time being. I can pay the rent for them,” Tang Hui said as she massaged her temples. She really did not want to be entangled with a scoundrel like this man. What she did not lack the most now was money. Moreover, it was alright for her to fork out the money for the rent. She could just treat it as helping her children.

Shao Dong immediately said, “No! That dilapidated house is not habitable at all! Either you find them another house! Or they live here with you!”

At this moment, Tang Hui finally understood what Shao Dong meant to do. It looked like this was all an act to target her house.

“In your dreams,” Tang Hui said forcefully.

“What do you mean!” Fang Mei roared.

“To put it bluntly, I’m just their stepmother. They’re not my biological children. It’s already good enough if I give them money. I am the owner of this house and it belongs solely to me! It has nothing to do with any of them! What’s wrong with me living here alone! It’s up to me who I allow to live here!” Tang Hui said firmly.

“That’s impossible! I’ve asked around! Xia Guang is the one who bought this house!” Shao Dong said.

“Then did you also find out how the house was bought, who the seller was, at which point the ownership was transferred, what the details of the purchase were, as well as the process of signing the documents!” Tang Hui questioned.

Shao Dong hesitated, not knowing how to answer the question. All the information he had actually came from Shao Zhuang and Shao Le. He had then guessed most of the rest and had never done any investigation into it.

“We don’t care! You have to find a place for us to stay!” Fang Mei said shamelessly.

“Whatever.” After saying that, Tang Hui pushed Shao Yin out and slammed the door shut. Even if Shao Dong banged on the door again, she would not open it.
