AI Doctor : From Slave to Beast King

Chapter 83: I will make you the King --2

***************

On the other side, outside the guild, Azriel, who was striding towards his house, bumped into someone.

"Watch where you—Lexiel?" Azriel exclaimed in surprise as he stepped back and looked at the man whose build was as big as that of a small hill.

"Azriel," Lexiel greeted the man with a hoarse voice.

"Azriel, where are you going?" A man with long silver hair peeked from behind Lexiel and looked at Azriel with a surprised expression on his face.

"Leaving," Azriel huffed as he looked at the silver-haired man. "What about you, Jasper? Where did your team go?"

Jasper's eyes flickered as he raised his head and looked at Lexiel before saying to Azriel, "Oh, nowhere. Just on a little mission."

He then changed the topic as he said to Azriel, "But why are you leaving? What happened?"

As soon as Jasper asked this question, Azriel felt another surge of anger. He shook his head like an angry bull before saying in a gruff voice, "Don't even get me started!

The disrespect that they have shown me—"As he spoke, he blurted out everything that he had been stifling, like a plug being wrenched out of the tub that was filled with water, causing all of the content to spill out in a whirlpool.

By the time he finished speaking, Azriel felt much more relieved. He raised his head and said to Lexiel, "Don't get me wrong, Lex. But your grandfather will lead the guild to crumble if he goes on like this, I am telling you."

Upon hearing his words, Lexiel raised a brow. He tugged the strap of the bag that he was carrying on his shoulder before saying, "Don't worry about it, Azriel. My grandfather wouldn't have the chance to do such a thing." As he spoke, Lexiel smirked down at the man mysteriously. "Because he will no longer be the guild master."

Damien didn't know when his nightmare started. All he knew was that the second his head hit the pillow, he fell asleep at some point. And the second he drifted off to sleep, it was the beginning of his nightmare.

He was standing in front of the three senior resident doctors, and his mouth was strapped tight with a gag, and so were his hands as they were tied with shackles.

He was being forced to take the trainee exam that he took when he started as the resident doctor.

The entire room was empty other than him and the three judges. William sat in the middle as he continued to say to Damien, "Come on, Dami. You are not an idiot, are you? Answer the question."

As for the question or how to answer it, Damien had no idea about it.

He struggled against his shackles while trying to spit out the gag in his mouth.

Just as he was about to pull the shackles in the opposite direction, the man on the very end of the table said to him in a booming voice, "Damien, you need to get out of here, right? Then try a bit harder."

Damien raised his head to look at the man, but he only caught the smile of the man before the shackles in his hands melted right off, and he fell through the floor of the auditorium where he was standing.

William's voice faded off, morphed, and changed into an ancient voice.

There was a tinge of a hint of evil and cruelty in it.

He was standing at the edge of the pit, which went deeper and deeper to the point where he could see nothing but darkness.

"Did he return?"

"Yes, the man did return."

Damien carefully looked around and realized that he was once again standing in the barren and abandoned ruins where he ended up falling the last time.

The voice in the pit laughed in a bellowing voice. He asked, "And does he realize anything?"

"Nothing; that fool has no idea that he is carrying a piece of your soul," said a reedy voice.

Damien glanced to one side and saw the silhouette of a man, but other than that, he couldn't see anything.

"Haha! Godric would never know what kind of trap is waiting for him. I have long despised him for keeping the peace that was supposed to be broken long ago."

"But master, why do you rely on him? I could do the same; I am much better."

"You?" The voice in the abyss laughed jeeringly. "You, my dear servant, cannot make do. I need a vessel much better, one that could hold the might of my past, present, and future."

"But my lord—"

"Silence," the voice boomed. "You will have your chance if everything fails. But for now, let me use the card that my dear brother has arranged for me. As long as those foolish guild masters are gone, I will have the strength to rise once again."

"Damned their loyalty to my brothers and sisters—when I could have given them much more power and authority to rule over this world. However, it matters not because soon I... he is here."

The voice in the abyss was suddenly much more agitated than it was before, causing the silhouette of the man to jump. He looked around and glanced in the direction where Damien was standing.

"Impossible," that man said with a worried voice. "How can you be here?"

"Unlike you, he found me much sooner; this shows why your father wanted him to take the throne," the voice said to the man. It then turned on him, even though the abyss was deeper than the darkness of the night itself. Damien swore that he saw two glowing eyes within the end of the seemingly endless pit.

"So, you dare enter my realm, little warrior? Let's see if you have the courage to enter further." The voice laughed at him, and Damien found himself standing in the middle of the ground.

Power, rage, and authority brimmed within him as he raised his head and looked at the bloodbath that was taking place on the battlefield in front of him. He watched as one of the beastmen charged at him with an axe, but before he could swing it down,

His hands moved, and the head of the beastman rolled down at his feet.

Damien tried to step away from the head that was rolling at his feet but couldn't as the voice laughed at him, "This is what awaits you. Curse my brother for bringing you here, Damien. He has used you as a pawn to be sacrificed; chose me instead—I will make you the king of these lands."

The ancient voice started to laugh evilly again, and Damien found himself falling through the edge of the cliff.

"Come! Come to me, my brave warrior!"
