AM I SUPERMAN?

Chapter 32: CHAPTER 32

"Oliver, you are still wounded. Let me go with you!" Kaius said to Oliver.

It wasn't that Kaius wanted to follow Oliver, but he suddenly remembered a version of Green Arrow he had seen in his previous life. In that version, it seemed that during the robbery at Queen Consolidated, Oliver's team had encountered the Flash—or Barry Allen, who hadn't yet become the Flash.

Oliver was about to say it was just a minor rib injury and nothing to worry about, but Diana, filled with righteous determination, had already decided to intervene.

"I'm coming too! That person must have been deceived by Ares. I must—"

"Diana, not every bad person has something to do with Ares!" Kaius interjected. He couldn't help but feel that Ares, the God of War, had become an easy scapegoat for anything and everything.

However, Diana didn't agree with him. She argued passionately, "Why not? My mother told me that Ares is the source of all evil in the world. He sows lies, deception, and war!"

Kaius sighed inwardly. Diana's conviction left him stumped. She had this knack for dragging the argument into her own logic, making it impossible to counter her.

"Fine, you win," Kaius said with a defeated tone.

Meanwhile, Felicity's eyes darted curiously between Kaius and Diana. "Wow, Diana, are you talking about Ares? The Ares? The God of War from Greek mythology? Oh my gosh, if your people have lived since the age of myths, you must know all about the Greek gods!"

Kaius chuckled lightly, thinking about how little people knew about the Amazons. Diana's mother, Queen Hippolyta, had her fair share of involvement with Zeus, after all.

When Diana noticed Felicity's interest in Ares, she eagerly launched into recounting Ares' alleged crimes.

At the door, Oliver watched the two women chatting enthusiastically and let out a tired sigh. Rubbing his temples, he called out, "Enough! Fine! I'll take you all. Let's go!"

Moments later, they were on the road. Oliver, the CEO of Queen Consolidated, had been relegated to the role of chauffeur. Kaius sat in the front passenger seat, while Diana and Felicity occupied the back. The two women were deep in conversation.

Diana regaled Felicity with tales of the gods' misdeeds—stories she had heard from her mother, Hippolyta. While the authenticity of these accounts was questionable, Felicity listened with wide-eyed amazement, frequently exclaiming, "Oh my God! Oh my God!"

Soon, the group arrived at the scene of the crime. Oliver's bodyguard, Diggle—nicknamed "Spartan"—was already waiting outside the warehouse.

Diggle was a former soldier, muscular and skilled in various forms of combat.

When he saw Oliver's car pull up, he approached, but his expression turned to one of surprise when he saw Kaius and Diana stepping out of the vehicle.

"Who are these two?" Diggle asked, noting that they were both wearing Queen Consolidated uniforms, though he was certain he had never seen them before.

"Diggle, this is Mr. Kaius, and this is Ms. Diana," Oliver introduced awkwardly. "They're... friends."

"Hi, I'm Diggle, Oliver's personal bodyguard," Diggle said politely, though suspicion lingered in his eyes.

Oliver's friends? If it weren't for Oliver and Felicity standing right there, Diggle might have assumed this was some kind of secret plea for help.

After Kaius and Diggle got to know each other, everyone entered the Applied Science Department of the Queen Joint Enterprise.

The building was actually a large warehouse, but its reinforced titanium alloy door had been forced open. Police officers swarmed the area, working inside and outside the cordoned-off scene.

"This door is made of reinforced titanium alloy. How did the intruder manage to knock it down entirely?"

Oliver looked at the deformed warehouse door, then cast a quick glance in the direction of Kaius and Diana.

When the sheriff leading the investigation, Quentin Lance, heard Oliver's question, he replied casually, "Maybe they used a truck or a crane to ram it. I think it was a group effort—four or five people, at least. The speed of their operation suggests they had this meticulously planned for a long time."

"What about the surveillance footage? Surely the warehouse's cameras would have captured something useful," Felicity said, pointing to a camera mounted near the top of the warehouse.

However, the camera had been shot, its entire lens destroyed.

Sheriff Lance gestured to an officer, who came over holding a tablet. The officer explained, "Before the camera was disabled, the footage shows a single individual killing two watchmen. But he must have had accomplices. It's possible they bypassed surveillance from another angle."

Most people present assumed the break-in couldn't have been the work of one person alone. After all, to breach a titanium alloy door, neutralize the guards, and steal whatever was inside in such a short time seemed impossible for a single individual.

"In fact, it was just one person!"

A man emerged from the warehouse. He was handsome and wore a brown coat. Sheriff Lance frowned deeply when he saw him and asked, "Who are you? I don't recall seeing you in the police department."

The man smiled awkwardly and held up a badge from the Central City Police Department. "My name is Barry Allen. I'm with the Central City Police Department's Crime Scene Investigation team. We've had a similar case back home with unexplained details, so my boss sent me here."

Kaius observed Barry closely, noticing a brochure for a foreign technology expo sticking out of his bag. The headline read: Is the Particle Collider at S.T.A.R. Labs Safe? He realized the particle accelerator explosion hadn't happened yet, meaning Barry Allen hadn't become the Flash.

Sheriff Lance frowned as Barry insisted the intruder was acting alone. "So, you're saying someone could do this all by themselves?"

Barry nodded confidently. "Yes. It had to be someone extremely strong."

He continued, "To twist a human neck, it takes around 1,250 foot-pounds of torque. Look at the photos I took of the guards' injuries. The bruising indicates the killer used only one hand!"

Barry's serious tone and detailed explanation left everyone speechless. He stared at Oliver, Diana, and Kaius intently. "I don't think you realize just how difficult it is to snap someone's neck!"

Oliver raised an eyebrow, his expression blank. "Umm...yeah. We have no idea."

Kaius, worried Diana might accidentally say something incriminating, quickly chimed in. "Right, yes! None of us knows how to do that. Not at all!"
