Chapter 90: Wanda In Black Silk Stockings, Ch 43.2
This made Gwen feel as if she were consuming sweet candy—so delicious that she couldn't help but savor it.
They went on for about three or four minutes before finally parting.
Gwen was out of breath, her eyes appearing misty, staring into Hode's with an intense fixation.
In that moment, it felt as if the world had shrunk to just the two of them.
"How about now? Are you feeling better? Or should we continue?" Hode asked, a devilish smile creeping on his lips as he teased her.
"Please, no! I can hardly breathe." Gwen quickly pulled away, feeling as if she might drown.
If it continued, she would surely embarrass herself. After all, although her Spider suit was waterproof, it was still uncomfortable and sticky.
Seeing Gwen hop away like a little rabbit made Hode smile even more.
Though he had seen many beautiful flowers, this bud ready to bloom was giving him a different experience.
Suddenly, a bright blue light streaked across the sky.
Moments later, a heavy downpour began, with huge raindrops splattering onto the street.
In less than ten seconds, everything within sight was engulfed in rain. Countless lines of rain cascaded from the sky, urgently pouring onto the earth below.
Pedestrians quickly dashed towards nearby awnings to seek shelter, as the torrential rain and strong winds barreled toward them.
"Oh no..." Gwen was instantly drenched by the rain.
"Let's find a place to take cover!" Hode said as he looked at the narrow awning.
That little bit of space was barely enough to shield them from the downpour. Moreover, it was late at night, and they needed to head out.
"Where to?" Gwen furrowed her brows, pulling at her suit as she inquired.
Although her suit was waterproof, the rainwater still seeped in through the collar.
Feeling sticky and wet only made her more uncomfortable; she could tell her inner layers were completely soaked.
"Let's go to my place!" Hode said, a smile on his face as he instantly wrapped his arms around Gwen's slender waist.
"Ah?!"
Gwen felt his breath right next to her, and in the next moment, she was lifted off the ground.
She felt herself being carried away by Hode into the distance.
The rain continued to hammer down on them, but being in Hode's princess carry made Gwen forget all of that.
All she could think about were the three words Hode had just spoken: Go to his house?!
Could it possibly mean...?
While she was still lost in thought, a flash of golden light surrounded them.
In an instant, they appeared inside a mansion-style villa.
Gwen was taken aback by the extravagant chandelier above.
"Where is this?" She had just registered that it had hardly been a few seconds!
