American Comics: The Strongest Villain

Chapter 26: Chapter 26: Replicating the Power of a Shocker?

The rhythmic sound of "squeak" and "squeak" gradually ceased after a series of intense moments.

Felicity's eyes remained unfocused for a while as she lay in Su Sheng's arms, but slowly, they began to clear and sparkle with life. Tidying up some of her messy hair, she leaned her head on Su Sheng's shoulder, murmuring lazily, "You're amazing."

"You're not too bad yourself," Su Sheng replied. Though he had considered the possibility of breaking up, Felicity's body, her performance, and the intense pleasure they had just shared filled him with energy and contentment.

After a brief rest, Su Sheng carried Felicity to the bathroom. The warm water washed away their fatigue, and after a refreshing shower, they returned to the bedroom and drifted off to sleep in each other's arms.

A little exercise can do wonders for sleep quality—and can be a great way to change the subject, too. At least, Felicity had seemingly forgotten about getting Su Sheng a phone.

Night turned to dawn.

Felicity had breakfast and headed off to work, while Su Sheng settled in the living room with her laptop, monitoring Laurel's activities while browsing the news.

Gotham, Central City, Metropolis, and beyond.

For the past few days, Laurel hadn't returned to the Quinn Industries factory. Her life had become routine—school, home, repeat—like a well-behaved student. Consequently, Su Sheng's life had also settled into a regular pattern: surfing the web while keeping an eye on Laurel during the day, and spending his evenings chatting, watching TV, and engaging in intense exercise with Felicity.

Felicity was positively glowing these days.

As the familiar creaking sound echoed through the room, Felicity suddenly exclaimed in excitement. "She's moving!"

"I've been moving the whole time," Su Sheng teased.

"I mean Laurel's position! It's moving!" Felicity pointed to the laptop beside them, showing a red dot representing Laurel's location shifting on the map. She had finally left her house.

"She's out late—do you think she's coming to find you?" Felicity asked, her excitement growing.

Su Sheng glanced at the screen, then back at Felicity. Although he was pleased that Laurel had finally made a move, there were more pressing matters at hand. Soon, Felicity had no time to think about anything else.

The bright moonlight bathed the earth in a silvery glow.

The streets of the slums were nearly deserted, with only a few homeless people sleeping in corners. In front of the Quinn Industries factory, Laurel, dressed in sportswear and carrying a bag, looked around nervously before taking a deep breath. She took a few steps back, then sprinted forward and jumped high to grab the iron gate. It was over two meters tall, making it difficult for her to climb, but after some struggle, she managed to scale it and drop down on the other side.

After landing, Laurel opened her bag and pulled out two items—a flashlight and a stun gun.

The abandoned factory was dark and silent, making the flashlight beam stand out starkly. Laurel quickly made her way to the spot where she had been kidnapped last time, her heart pounding in her chest.

The bent steel bar was still on the ground, and her voice echoed eerily in the quiet space.

"Anyone? I'm here."

"Su… Su Sheng, are you there?" she called out tentatively, her voice trembling, but there was no response. Was he not here?

Suddenly, she felt a hot breath on the back of her neck. Laurel shuddered instinctively, turning on the stun gun and swinging it behind her.

Sizzle.

The stun gun crackled with faint electric sparks. Laurel felt her wrist tighten as it was caught in a strong grip. The flashlight beam revealed Su Sheng standing before her, holding her wrist.

Su Sheng looked at the stun gun in her hand with an amused smile. His grip tightened slightly, causing Laurel to gasp as the stun gun slipped from her hand and clattered to the ground.

Pat!

The sound echoed in the stillness, and Laurel instinctively trembled. Then, she noticed something strange—Su Sheng's hand holding her wrist began to glow with a blue light, similar to the electric sparks from the stun gun. Crackling sounds filled the air as Laurel felt a jolt of electricity coursing through her body, making her tremble uncontrollably.

Her eyes widened in disbelief as she stared at Su Sheng, but before she could react, she was rendered unconscious, her body twitching slightly as she crumpled to the ground.

Ignoring the fallen Laurel, Su Sheng looked down at his hands. Electricity danced between his fingertips, and as he focused, the currents grew thicker and brighter, spreading across his entire body. The air crackled with energy, and the dazzling blue light illuminated the surroundings, making Su Sheng appear as a god of thunder, his presence overwhelming and majestic.

Su Sheng had always known that his powers allowed him to replicate the abilities of matter, but he had never fully explored this potential. Previous replications had been passive, copying whatever power he encountered. But seeing the stun gun had sparked his curiosity—could he replicate its electric power? The result had been surprisingly smooth.

Although the self-defense stun gun's initial power was weak, that didn't matter to Su Sheng. He could amplify and multiply the power infinitely, turning even a small shock into a force capable of wreaking havoc.
