An Exorcist Magical Girl!

Chapter 63

Was the man in the hat who just passed Eom Jingyu?

Before I had time to think about it, Hanju opened the car window and started screaming at the top of his lungs.

“Catch the madman! Catch the guy in the black hat! Officers, that madman is entering the danger zone! He’s a wanted fugitive! Go!”

It was a voice so loud that it calmed the tumultuous scene.

Didn’t he swallow a microphone…?”

Seo Jun muttered, and that was all I needed to hear.

All eyes turned to the lone megaphone.

“Hey! Black Hat! Get Black Hat! Oops! Pesky criminals entering the danger zone!”

Black Hat tried to run, but was grabbed and dragged by the surrounding citizens.

His hat came off, revealing a scar on his left temple.

“Oh, it’s Eom Jingyu!”

Hanju exclaimed.

But his joy was short-lived.

Just before being handed over to the police, Eom Jingyu shook off the citizens’ hands and fled on a motorcycle parked nearby.

“Ack, we lost him!”

The only good thing was that there were a lot of people on the police line, so he couldn’t escape into the danger zone.

“You can get off here and I’ll go after Eom Jingyu.” “Just go! Step on it!” “Who has time to get off and sleep now?”

As we shouted at the top of our lungs, the exorcist hesitated for half a second before stepping on the gas after Eom Jingyu.

He knew it. In the few seconds it took him to drop us off, Eom Jingyu would be hundreds of meters ahead of him, speeding at whatever the speed limit was, and once the distance was too great, it would be hard to track his scent.

The exorcist called someone, then handed the phone to me as it rang.

“Baek Iri. I’m sorry, but I need the detective in charge to explain the situation.” “Oh, yes!”

As soon as I picked up the phone, it said,

“Yes, this is Kim Cheol-soo. Exorcist Ji Woon, what can I do for you?”

The voice said.

“Oh, Exorcist Ji Woon is driving because we’re chasing Eom Jingyu right now! Uh, who are we…” “Give it to me.”

I didn’t know if I was nervous or just stuttering when I suddenly asked to speak to the detective, so I threw the phone to Seo Jun.

She calmly explained the situation and then hung up.

“Exorcist Ji Woon. The detective said he’ll come to you as soon as he can, so keep him informed of our location. Oh, and don’t run him over.” “I’m carrying five students, I wouldn’t do something so reckless.”

…So you’re saying you would have crashed without us?

“So you’re saying that you would have crashed without us?”

That’s what Seo Jun just said.

I don’t know whether to be surprised that she thought the same thing as me or that she actually asked it out loud.

“Well.”

Exorcist Ji Woon replied curtly and turned his attention back to driving.

The vague answer made me realize that I should have stayed on the bike instead of getting off.

Due to the nature of motorcycles, we almost lost him a few times as he weaved in and out of traffic to put distance between us or took narrow roads, but luckily, Pale Ghost pointed us in the direction of Eom Jingyu’s scent each time.

This made it much easier to track him down.

Peeeeeeee─ Beep, beep, beep

The emergency text alert beeped loudly.

“Gate is open.”

I dug in my pocket for my phone, and Seo Jun recited the text for me.

In the rearview mirror, I saw the gate on the roof of the building, which had been tightly closed, slowly open, billowing black smoke.

“Holy shit.”

Hanju Hwang spun around to capture the gate opening with her camera.

“Are you still on NewTube?” “No! I’ve folded NewTube. Yin Charang!” “How many subscribers did you have?” “One!” “Well… It was worth folding.”

Yin Charang nodded in understanding, and Yeo Seon-yeo grumble quietly from the back seat on the driver’s side.

“That was me, damn it.”

Pale ghost started to laugh, but I silenced him.

A horde of monsters rumbled out of the gate.

When the camera zoomed in on the monster, it looked exactly like a hamster, and at first glance, it looked cute.

However, the hamster-like appearance was not the only thing that distinguished them from their size.

A rough comparison with the height of the magical boys and girls flying towards the gate revealed that each individual was about the size of a medium-sized dog.

A pair of small wings were attached to the huge, shaggy backs of the monsters.

Aside from their razor-sharp teeth, which could pierce through defensive magic and sever a human’s heart in an instant, and their tendency to swarm, they weren’t particularly threatening. I set the danger zone wide in case any monsters I hadn’t killed earlier escaped. With a large population, there are bound to be monsters you miss.

There was no telling how many more hordes of monsters would come out of the gate before the Beta team could completely destroy it, so it would be a battle of endurance for the Alpha team.

“But why did Eom Jingyu suddenly appear here?”

Yeo Seon-yeo muttered to herself in the backseat, then suddenly realized the answer to this question.

“Why would he go to the danger zone… Ah.”

She looked back and saw that all four people in the back seat knew the answer.

Eom Jingyu was trying to target the high school-aged magical boys and girls who were active in the area.

The Gate Danger Zone was a place where it was not unusual for someone to die.

A monster is a monster, no matter how weak it is, no matter how unthreatening it is.

This means that the slightest disturbance can lead to death.

Exorcism skills also work on humans.

Of course, the power and duration of the spell are much less than when it works on a ghost.

Eom Jingyu’s skill is to weave energy into threads.

Even being enveloped by it for a short time would be a fatal hindrance in battle.

“Wow, he’s really determined. Look at the map. He’s circling around the outside of the danger zone.”

Hwang Hanju’s tongue clucked as he checked the route they’d taken so far.

Eom Jingyu kept circling around the edge of the danger zone, looking for the smallest opening to slip through.

The main road leading into the danger zone had been barricaded by police cars since the monsters had started coming out of the gate in earnest, and if he tried to sneak through the loosely controlled streets, Exorcist Ji Woon would be right on his heels to stop him.

“Seo Jun. Please tell the detective that I’m on my way along the Wuichen Road and will soon pass the Twin Hands Bridge.” “Yes, sir.”

The entire police force was now working to control the danger zone, so we couldn’t expect any additional reinforcements other than the detective.

I wonder if I should tell the staff of this association to mobilize as well.

As we passed by the hospital near Twin Hands Bridge, I heard the sound of magic and skill explosions close by.

Apparently, the Alpha team had already been pushed out of the center of the danger zone.

Poof! “Surprise!”

A burst of magic turned the sky purple, startling the woman at the window.

A battle seemed to be taking place nearby.

Pow! Pow!

One after another, the explosions came closer and closer.

Soon, a magical girl firing a bazooka-like weapon was pushed back to the police line at the end of the empty alley. On the other side, half a dozen monsters charged at her.

Fortunately, there were no people near this side of the alley except for us and Eom Jingyu.

The magical girl’s professionalism shone through as she dragged the monsters to an uninhabited alley to minimize the damage despite being pushed from the center.

Bam!

Twenty meters in front of us, Eom Jingyu slammed on the brakes.

He hadn’t even reached the center of the danger zone yet, and now that the Bloodblood Demon God’s magical girl had appeared right in front of him, he thought this was his best chance.

The exorcist screeched to a halt, and Yeo Seon=-eo and Hwang Hanju, who were sitting right next to each other on either side of the door, screamed and jumped out.

“Aaaaaaah!” “Eom Jingyuuuu!”

Before Eom Jingyu could take out his hand energy, the two of them threw their entire bodies at him, grabbing his left arm and right leg.

Yin Charang, who rushed out after them, snapped his right arm back and pushed him down, and the pencil case I threw out of the window hit his left leg. The pencil case was protected by the aura, so it made a loud

“clang”

sound that didn’t match the cloth material when it hit his leg.

But by the time it hit his leg, a thread of binding had already been shot from his fingertips.

It flew straight at the magical girl, who had just finished dealing with the third monster and was turning to face the fourth.

“Dodge!”

I shouted urgently, reaching out to grab her, but it was too late. The end of the murderous string was already too far away.

Just as he was about to give up, a white trajectory sliced through the air in front of him, snapping the taut thread.

It was an arrow shot by Exorcist Ji Woon.

The sharp arrow cut through the long thread of energy that Eom Jingyu had drawn.

The thread fell helplessly to the ground just before it reached the magical girl.

As a result, the magical girl was able to fire her grenade at the fourth monster unhindered and unharmed. There was a cheerful bang, like a firecracker going off.

“Wow, that’s awesome!”

Hwang Hanju applauded as she pressed Eom Jingyu’s legs behind his back and clapped his hands in front of Exorcist Ji Woon.

Okay, the magical girl was saved.

But there was no time to celebrate.

Because just when we thought we’d gotten over the cliffhanger, another one hit us.

Snap, snap, snap! “Hey! Dodge!” “Ugh, f*ck!”

A fifth monster lunged at the three of us, tangling with Eom Jingyu.

Yeo Seon-yeo, Yin Charang, and Hwang Hanju dodged sideways, forward, and backward, respectively.

Eom Jingyu is about to have his ears torn off by the monster.

Bam!

But just as the monster was about to bite Eom Jingyu, the magical girl’s shell hit the monster right in the back of the head.

“What? Are you okay?”

After barely escaping with his life, Eom Jingyu scrambled to his feet without answering the magical girl’s question about his injuries.

Seo Jun quickly stepped in front of the motorcycle, but Eom Jingyu cursed and scattered his net-like energy in a wide area.

Seo Jun and the rest of us were caught in the net.

Eom Jingyu got on his motorcycle and disappeared into an alley between buildings.

The web-like energy that touched the human body quickly lost its power and evaporated, but it was enough to buy him time to escape.

 “That lunatic…”

Yin Charang, who was the first to get to his feet, shouted.

“He couldn’t have gotten far, he got a flat on the back wheel of his bike.”

Seo Jun said, sheathing her dagger, which she didn’t know when she had taken it out.

“Really? Then let’s go, we can catch up!”

Taking Yin Charang’s words as a cue, we climbed back into the car and began the chase, again led by Pale ghost.

The alley branched off into another alley, so we needed him.

 “Alley on the left!”

We were all half collapsed from the rush to get into the car. That included Pale ghost.

She crouched in the space under the passenger glove compartment and led the way.

“Right!” “Okay, then what?” “Left! Heehee!”

As we walked, I saw a motorcycle abandoned at the fork in the road.

Apparently, he couldn’t go any further with a flat tire, so he abandoned the bike and took off on foot.

“Crazy. You crawled all the way here on a flat tire.”

Seon-yeo shook her head and turned to Pale ghost.

“Where’s the next stop?” “…….” “Hey, where do we go from here? Left or right?” “I don’t know.” “Huh?” “I don’t know.”

Pale ghost looked left and right, then said.

“The smell is coming from both sides.”
