Archon of Danmachi

The Matter of Freya III

'Heh! Trying to use my own tricks against me . . . Tch, tch, tch. Looks like I'll be able to profit from this secrecy, at the very least, I'll have a trump card for blackmail if this is serious enough which it probably is.'

The excluded parties left, deeply unsatisfied at their exclusion, they were basically just Gareth and Riveria, the other executives of the Loki Familia.

Gareth had to eat his dissatisfaction b8ut Nox mentally communicated to Riveria that the contract would not be able to bind him at all and that he would discuss everything that happened in the meeting with her afterwards, which left her feeling much better about things.

After all, they wanted to exclude her but not only would she still find out everything, they would not even know that she knew which, in and of itself, was a precious advantage.

After the the two of them left, Horn who had finally managed to get a hold of herself, sat down beside Ottar while Loki sat opposite of them with Nox of her left and finn on her right.

"Alright, what's up with yer sex crazed goddess that got ya all in such a tizzy?" The red haired goddess went straight to the point without mincing her words, even a little bit.

"Sex crazed goddess", while a rather apt description of Freya, was not really one her Familia members endorsed or even appreciated but, especially in Ottar's case, he was used to Loki calling that to the goddess of beauty's face in their meetings when Freya was up to her shenanigans.

Regardless, the two Freya Familia adventurers had greater concerns at the moment. Neither of them seemed surprised at how Loki immediately figured out something was off with Freya.

While other members of her familia might, Horn who knew her goddess' thoughts and feelings on Loki and Ottar who had seen the both of them interact on numerous occasions, both knew better that to underestimate the red haired goddess' perceptiveness and guile.

"I'm sure Loki-sama has already figured it out from how we specifically requested t-the A-Archon's presence that this matter is deeply related to him." Horn started, stuttering when referring to Nox's title, obviously still not fully in control of herself when he was directly involved or mentioned.

"'Course. The question is, what did Noxy due that set Freya off so bad that ya two came runnin' to my place?" Loki questioned with a predatory look as if she knew everything and just wanted them to cough it all up and beg for her assistance.

"This relates to Freya-sama's privacy so I'm afraid it is best not to discuss it without her presence or approval. Our request, is simply to arrange a meeting." Horn responded.

"Oh?" Loki simply said and let her continue.

"We want Nox Lyros to come to Folkvangr with us and talk with Freya-sama to . . . solve some doubts she is having." Ottar shared.

"Solve Freya's doubts eh?" Loki adopted a pondering look.

Meanwhile Finn interjected with a bit of a lot of disbelief.

"You want our most promising member in terms of talent and one of the most valuable individuals in the World currently due to his many creation, to go alone to your Familia Home of Folkvangr . . . After he had a conflict with one of your members that escalated into serious violence?"

Certainly, when the Pallum put that way, if such a meeting request was accepted, it was like sending their most precious member right into the middle of enemy territory where everyone wanted a piece of him.

Horn was about to interject with assurances that nothing would happen and that such was not their intention but Finn was not quite done yet.

"I'm sure you're not the type to do such things King and there is almost certainly no intention to harm Nox in your request however . . .' Finn paused and made a serious look.

"Can you assure us that the other members of the Freya Familia share that sentiment of yours?" The pallum questioned.

Horn and Ottar fell silent. After all, even Horn hated Nox with a passion, she just knew he was the only one who could fix her goddess' problem and so, had no intention of scheming against him. If Freya turned back to normal however, there was not promise that she would not want him dead herself.

As for the others, they were all deathly jealous of Nox from how much he could influence Freya and how much she cared about what he did, said or thought. Some of them outright held grudges that made them wish for his death and suffering with a passion.

That being the case, assuring there was no ill intent towards Nox in Folkvangr was most definitely not something Ottar and Horn could do.

As the discussion hit an impasse, Nox decided to interject for the first time.

"I am rather confident in my ability to ensure my own safety. That said, I'm also not fond of jumping into danger without a good enough reason." He commented.

"My question is . . . I can do what you ask, regardless of the daner it might pose . . . But why should I?" Nox questioned.

There was the crux of the matter. Loki was trying to probe about the general situation, Finn was talking about feasibility, meanwhile, Nox was not worried at all, he simply wanted it to be worth whatever challenges he might have to face in order to accomplish what was being requested.

Needless to say, his way of putting things gave pause to everyone in the room as they went over his exact words once more . . .
