Chapter 111 Puppet Manipulation. Aiming for Wang Yun’s Head? (2)

“Really? Big Brother is targeting the Nancheng Bank? That’s no easy feat!”

“Going after the Nancheng Bank? Big Brother, are you sure about that? Is it even possible to breach a bank’s headquarters?”

“Breaking a bank headquarters isn’t a simple task. If it drags on, Big Brother and his crew might face danger, especially now with the extra inspectors from Japan joining in!”

“The number of viewers on Big Brother’s livestream has dwindled, but this viewing experience really ramps up the immersion.”

“Let’s just hope Big Brother avoids capture by the Japanese team. Even better, he could give them a good thrashing!”

At the same time, the livestream audience showed astonishment at Wang Yun’s announcement. They hadn’t foreseen that after a day at Nancheng Bank, Wang Yun was seriously planning to target its headquarters.

Did he have that much confidence?

Taking action now might reveal his weak spots.

Their biggest concern was for Wang Yun not to be apprehended, particularly not by the Japanese program inspection team, who were too arrogant.

Unaware of his followers’ concerns, Wang Yun scrutinized the array of equipment before him. In addition to a pistol and a submachine gun, there was a sniper rifle, loaded with thirty rounds.

‘Plus, I need to buy some safe-cracking tools tomorrow,’ Wang Yun thought to himself.

“Brother Hu, you guys come over. I need to brief you on tomorrow’s plan,” he called out to Brother Hu and his team.

“Right away, boss,” they responded, nodding.

Wang Yun spread out a map and meticulously explained the next day’s mission. Hu Sanqing and his team listened intently.

As another night came and went, Wang Yun, with a large backpack slung over his shoulders, set out early, just after eight in the morning.

After acquiring some necessary tools, Wang Yun meticulously arranged his setup around Nancheng Bank’s headquarters.

Having finished his preparations, he made his way back to the bank using the previous day’s mask. Four employees promptly approached him, engaging in a cheerful exchange. Wang Yun’s eyes sparkled as he conversed with them, skillfully weaving hypnotic suggestions into their interaction.

Hypnosis was a formidable skill, one that Wang Yun considered his most diabolical. It allowed him to induce illusions, prompting people to act instinctively, and even to erase their memories of their actions afterward. It was akin to sleepwalking.

The morning swiftly flew by, and by afternoon, Hu Sanqing and his team left their hideout, driving a van. Armed and with a menacing determination in their eyes, they were poised for a significant operation.

Inside Nancheng Bank’s headquarters, Wang Yun sat, a smile playing on his lips as he operated a computer.

Up on the top floor of the 28-story building, boasting an antique architectural style, the bank’s general manager addressed the chairman with a grin.

“Mr. Chairman, it seems Wang Yun will likely attempt to rob our bank soon. Should we evacuate for a while? He’ll probably take us hostages later on.”

“Hehe, sure, let’s head to the café across from our bank and watch comfortably,” said the chairman, his face creasing into a smile.

His confidence in the bank’s security system was unshakeable.

In emergencies, the vault was designed to enter a lockdown state, rendering it impenetrable. Even he wouldn’t have the means to open it. This security measure was specifically created to thwart attempts to force staff with the access codes to open the vault. Consequently, he was utterly convinced that Wang Yun stood no chance of breaching it.

Today, if Wang Yun failed to plunder the bank’s reserves, Nancheng Bank’s reputation would skyrocket. Its market value would surge anew, attracting a substantial influx of customers.

He couldn’t help but admire Hong Jian’s strategy once more. It was ingeniously effective.

Provoking Wang Yun, capturing his interest, and directing it towards Nancheng Bank had indeed succeeded.

In high spirits, he stepped outside and made his way to a coffee shop across the street, eager to watch the unfolding spectacle leisurely. This was going to be a celebration of Nancheng Bank’s ascent.

Simultaneously, at the special program task force headquarters, after more than a day of reconnaissance, a dozen or so program officers converged on the district where Wang Yun and his team had recently taken refuge.

Surveying the area, they relayed their findings, “Captain, based on our investigation, it’s highly probable that Wang Yun and his crew are in this soon-to-be-demolished district.”

“Blend in as civilians, conduct a thorough search, and remove your earpiece communicators to avoid detection,” instructed Wu Mingyu from inside the program task force office.

“Understood, Captain!”

The agents, in their complete disguises, acknowledged and moved in. Yet, as they were about to enter the area, another group of incognito program officers, earpieces in place, arrived at a nearby location.

The sudden arrival of the dozen people caught their attention, momentarily startling both groups.

“Captain, it looks like we’ve spotted members of the Japanese program inspection team,” one of the program officers quickly reported.

“Hmm?”

In the program task force office, Wu Mingyu and his team focused intently upon receiving this update.

“Their response time is impressively quick too!” Kolyev remarked, taking a drag from his cigar.

“Anyone who makes it into a program inspection team is no pushover,” Wang Yue said, her eyes flashing with insight.

Out of the blue, a member of the Red Hacker Alliance interjected loudly, “Captain, after monitoring the nearby surveillance, we’ve just noticed that about twenty minutes ago, Wang Yun’s men, Hu Sanqing and his team left the area in a vehicle.”

“They’ve left that district?”

The eyes of the five Captains sharpened instantly as they turned their attention to this new development.

“Yes, they’ve departed, and they made no attempt to conceal their movements. We’re not sure what they’re up to, but we’re tracking their vehicle right now,” Ames reported.

“Get a lock on them immediately. Wang Yun and his six associates are high-profile, they should be easy to spot,” Wu Yaoming instructed without hesitation.

“We’re scanning the surveillance footage.”

Shortly after, the Red Hacker Alliance relayed new information, “We’ve located them, they’ve stopped right outside Nancheng Bank’s headquarters.”

“Nancheng Bank’s headquarters? Is that Wang Yun’s target?” Kolyev’s expression turned to one of shock, “He’s aiming for Nancheng Bank’s headquarters? A vault in a bank’s main branch would hold hundreds of millions.”

“However, it’s impossible for him to use hostages to extort money like he did yesterday. The bank won’t allow such a large sum to be taken, and the vault will surely be in complete lockdown. Back in the ’70s and ’80s, robbing major banks could have been feasible, but in today’s world, the success rate for robbing a major bank is virtually zero,” Kolyev said, his voice exuding certainty.

He had experience in bank robberies and had succeeded in the past. However, the security systems back then were much weaker compared to today’s sophisticated setups. It was a stark contrast. Robbing a bank of such stature now seemed utterly fanciful to him.

“Wang Yun’s target could very well be the Nancheng Bank headquarters. Given his vengeful nature, he’s capable of anything. Quick, all program officers, get ready,” Wang Yue ordered, her eyes flashing with determination.

“Sky Eagle team, move out immediately.” Wu Mingyu commanded.

“Understood,” the Sky Eagle team acknowledged.

“Ames, Red Hacker, try to access Nancheng Bank headquarters’ surveillance system,” Kolyev also commanded sharply.

“Roger that!”

Commands were issued in rapid succession, and the program task force immediately mobilized. They were deep in thought, strategizing Wang Yun’s latest move, how to counteract, find weaknesses, and ultimately capture Wang Yun and his crew.

Simultaneously, at the Japanese program inspection team’s office, they too soon received this intelligence. Their team also had formidable hackers.

“Hmm? Wang Yun and his crew targeting a bank’s headquarters, haha, that’s interesting. Come on, let’s go take down Wang Yun,” Captain Mita’s eyes sparkled upon hearing the news, and he licked his lips with a sense of resolve. “I’m not worried about Wang Yun not taking action, just concerned they might stay hidden. Hehe, I can’t wait for the face-off with Wang Yun!”

With a hearty laugh, he led his twenty-five subordinates, swiftly moving towards Nancheng Bank’s headquarters. Fifteen of them boarded a helicopter, while Captain Mita and the rest revved up their motorcycles, fully armed and ready for action.

The Japanese program inspection team was now in motion.
