Arms trough the galaxy

Chapter 18: Chapter-18

Alarms began to sound all over the ship, marking the beginning of the battle outside. After leaving hiperspace caos soon follow. Above Naboo's serene surface, three dreadnought-class heavy cruisers maneuver with purpose, their massive engines glowing as they close in on a gargantuan Lucrehulk battleship. The Trade Federation ship, an imposing circular vessel with its central command sphere bristling with defenses, looms menacingly over the planet. This was not the Lucrehulk destroyed by the daring young Anakin Skywalker, no, it was another crucial component of the blockade, and the dreadnoughts objective was clear disable it.

The lead dreadnought, Voidkeeper, opens fire, its heavy ion cannons lighting up the void with blue-white streaks of energy. The targeted ion blasts ripple across the Lucrehulk's shields, disrupting systems and causing temporary power outages on the ship's massive circular frame. Droid starfighters pour from the battleship's hangars in response, swarming the dreadnoughts in waves of relentless aggression.

"Stay on target!" orders Veya, the commander of the second dreadnought, as its turbolaser batteries swing into action. Precision shots cripple the Lucrehulk's port-side hangar doors, trapping dozens of droid starfighters inside. The cruiser's ion cannons follow up with another volley, focusing on the battleship's exposed engines, sparks and plasma fires erupting as systems begin to fail.

The third dreadnought, Sovereign, maneuvers into position beneath the Lucrehulk, deploying its tractor beam array. Bright, glowing tendrils of energy reach out, latching onto the larger ship and slowing its evasive maneuvers. The Lucrehulk's quad-laser turrets respond furiously, firing salvo after salvo. The Sovereign's shields flicker and buckle under the strain, but the dreadnought holds its ground.

While the mayor ships where battling, the fighters also had their own share of troubles. The Z-95s, their compact frames bristling with weapons, formed into staggered attack wings, their engines glowing blue against the backdrop of the green and blue planet below. The lead fighter, Brown-1, barked orders over the comms.

"Hold formation! Let them come to us. Keep tight, and aim for the swarm's leaders!"

The Vulture droids approached in their tight, eerie formations, their angular frames folding and unfolding as they adjusted trajectories with mechanical precision. They unleashed the first salvo, a chaotic web of red laser fire aimed directly at the Z-95s. The Z-95s responded in kind, breaking formation just enough to weave through the incoming fire. A couple of fighters peeled off to the right, juking past the incoming bolts as their blaster cannons retaliated. The two forces clashed like hammer and anvil. The Z-95s relied on their superior piloting skill and heavier shields, darting in and out of the chaotic furball, while the Vultures, directed by cold droid logic, overwhelmed with sheer numbers and swarm tactics.

One Z-95 pilot, found himself with a Vulture droid on his tail. The mechanical pursuer kept pace, its twin cannons firing relentlessly. His voice crackled over the comms.

"I've got one on me! Can't shake it!"

His partner twisted his fighter into a tight spiral and swooped in, firing precise shots into the Vulture's exposed rear. The droid fighter exploded in a fiery burst, its remains drifting into the void.

"Stay calm. Keep your shields forward and stick to your vector!"

Despite their best efforts, the Z-95s were being pushed back by the relentless droid swarm. As two Headhunters were clipped by concentrated fire and spun out of control. Over the comms a miriad of voices could be heared.

"We're losing too many! They're overwhelming us!"

Seeing as they were fighting a losing battle the Voidkeeper once more shot his heavy ions cannons hoping to disable the droids in the hangars and turned the tables, and shot struck true to it's mark.

Seeing that the shot had disable the hangars and shield, Captain Dren Malvek order the Stormbreaker to follow the next phase of the plan.

"Deploy the boarding pods!" Lieutenant Jorik Tallas commands from the Sovereign. From the dreadnoughts underbelly, dozens of sleek boarding craft launch, each carrying troops to infiltrate the enemy vessel. The pods weave through the chaos, dodging droid starfighters and turret fire as they latch onto the Lucrehulk's outer hull. But it wasn't only pods that break through to board the ship, the Shadowfang reach the hangar after destroying all Vulture droid in it's way as well as any droid in the disembarkation point.

The ship's ramp lowers with a loud metallic hiss, revealing the soldiers in their stark, practical uniforms—a fusion of WWII-era military design and futuristic armor.

As they march down the ramp in tight formation, their matte black plastoid armor gleams faintly under the dim light of a fiery sky. Each soldier wears a WWII-style combat helmet, its curved brim modernized with a smooth, streamlined design. Their masks reflect the glow of nearby explosions, hiding their eyes but amplifying their menacing presence. The chest plates of their modular armor fit snugly over rugged, dark fatigues, and utility belts clink softly with the weight of grenades and ammunition pouches. Some soldiers carry lightweight backpacks, the straps cutting cleanly over the edges of their plastoid shoulder guards. Gloved hands grip a variety of 1960 weapons such as the FN FAL, M1 Garand or submachine guns such as the Sudayev PPS-43 or the Beretta M12. They step in unison, the sound of heavy combat boots striking the metal ramp echoing with authority. Each soldier moves with practiced efficiency, their heads scanning the landing zone for threats. The knee guards on their dark trousers flex as they stride, offering both protection and agility as they prepare to engage the enemy.

"Hangar secure, let's move toward the main bridge. Viper 14 to 24 move and secure the bridge of this ship alongside the main boarding parties"

"Yes, my lord"

After leaving them the Shadowfang once more took offbut this time toward the hangar of the Palace of Theed.
