chapter 5
“That guy found us and protected us. Benefactor.”
“What a benefactor! You’re doing your job!”
Goff shot. Rimo, who had been loitering nearby and listening, murmured.
“Wow, it’s an automaton. I usually see a lot like that. A bony skeleton and an expressionless face.”
“What is it?”
puck puck!
Carrot breaks the orc’s head with a bat and then turns his head. Rimo looked down at her and asked.
“Do automatons have a bond with each other?”
“Do you have something like that with someone you don’t know?”
“no? But if it seems human and dangerous, we can help each other even if we don’t know each other.”
“That much is true of us too. Creatures tend to do what their creators do.”
Rimo’s eyes widened.
“and! That answer was pretty philosophical! I’ll remember the story now!”
Carrot smiled brightly, turned her head, and shouted out loud.
“hey! You guys! Help me out if you’re free! Orcs are trying to break it!”
Goff, who was talking with the party, frowned and shouted at them.
“If you are an automaton, can you speak politely like an automaton! You bastard with no quirks!”
“Uh heh! you’re not my master Did you pick it up?”
Goff trembled as Carrot crossed his arms and raised his chin. The automaton, listening, drew its longsword and began striking the head of a nearby live orc, much to the amazement of Gough’s allies.
“Automaton?! Is that girl?!”
“Is it soft skin! Such expensive equipment! I don’t know who the owner is, but he’s insane. Useless for combat automatons…”
Then a huge muscle mass appeared. He wore a bucket-like helmet on his head, and he looked terrifying with Orc blood splashing.
“I’m the owner of that crazy guy.”
Seeing him dripping blood from the shortsword he was holding, the three of them fell silent. Crank watched their automatons do their job in silence and nodded.
“Goff, explain the situation to your colleagues.”
“Oh, oh, I see.”
After speaking, Crank approached the newly appeared automaton.
“You are not a normal person.”
“They brought magicians and reinforced humans with them. damn! If we had prepared more thoroughly, we wouldn’t have been so foolish!”
“A reinforced human?! Who is it? Just once…!”
Adam, who was listening, frowned, and Toast turned and shouted.
“Bo show! uncles! Can’t you see I’m busy?! Don’t leave it to your puppets, help quickly! If the orcs wake up and run amok, are you going to let them go after them or not?!”
Goff’s party, who had been paying attention, reluctantly drew their swords and began to search for living orcs.
After the rough work was over and everyone gathered in one place, the ghetto pointed to the cave and asked.
“What is inside?”
“Oak.”
“huh?”
He combed his hair with his fingers, probably feeling offended by the burnt hair.
“It’s a big, well-organized cave. It might have been really rare. There are several entrances in the cave, so I went in anywhere, but it was an orc cave, and it came pouring out. Isn’t it strange? There are no signs of orcs here, but there are orcs roaming around inside.”
Certainly the area around the cave was clean. If there really was an Orc colony here, they would have cut down random trees, made mud baths, and made wooden fences and piled them up.
Crank, who had been sitting on the automaton of Goff and his party and was fixing the combat boots for a while, sat down on the floor and opened his mouth.
“This is just my opinion.”
Ghetto looked at his broad back.
“Try it.”
“As you know, a dragon has a group of monsters following him. That’s also why we lined up to search for empty rares.”
Crank looked back at the orcs whose heads were broken, and continued by tying the straps of the automaton’s combat boots.
“Isn’t this actually a dragon rare, and Orcs don’t set foot in this rare rare?”
“Oh I can! It’s like a priest getting angry when kids run around the temple!”
Toast intervened.
“Then how did these guys come out of the cave…! ah! Isn’t there another village like this on the other side? on the other side of the mountain It is connected to a cave.”
“Wow, that sounds like it, but if that were true, the scale would be no joke.”
Looking up at the mountains rising under the night sky, everyone broke into a cold sweat.
Yuri, who was exchanging bullets for his automatic crossbow, raised his head.
“Carrot, have you looked at how long the inside of the cave where you met the orc is?”
“no? As soon as I entered the entrance, I ran into an orc who was standing guard there.”
Now everyone has seen the ghetto.
“We need to find definitive evidence that it is truly rare. I can’t just go. rush in I won’t touch the orc den. After securing the evidence that it is rare, withdraw immediately.”
Carrot opened her mouth.
“Captain Bald, do we all need to go? I’ll just go to crank with me. Can’t we find something that we think is really rare?”
“Do you know what that is?”
“I don’t know, but my master, like a ghost, notices anything that makes money, doesn’t it?”
Everyone saw the crank. A little embarrassed, but he stood up.
“I’d most certainly like to be accidentally kicked by a dragon byproduct. Whether scales or bones.”
Ghetto said, closing his eyes and sighing.
“It’s strange that there are no more orcs. something is awkward good. Pick something up as soon as possible.”
Taking the light ball from his chest and putting it in his pocket, Crank ran after Carrot into the darkness.
Ghetto looked back.
“Prepare for withdrawal. Molly, can you make it as colorful as possible? I want to evade the pursuit of any follow-up units.”
“I’ve used up all my spells now and there’s nothing left.”
“Then let’s hit it with our bodies. Lena, and the automaton there.”
The automaton raises its head, carrying a backpack so large that it seems that the group’s luggage may not have been included.
“I need your strength. Gather firewood right away. We need as much as possible.”
Crank, who entered the cave cautiously under Carrot’s guidance, opened the entrance of his leather bag slightly, looked at the cave wall with a little light, and nodded.
Something scoured, but too high. If it’s enough to reach that location, it shouldn’t be this big.
“This way.”
Crank entered through the wide space and saw Carrot pointing. In fact, there was a large cave dug into the wall that a person could come in and out of. It seemed quite deep that the wind was blowing.
“Is that where the orcs popped out?”
“okay.”
“Any other holes?”
“I am over there.”
Guided by Carrot, they moved on the wall and saw a similar-sized oyster quite far away.
After thinking about it for a while, Crank entered it.
“Do you want to go in?”
“okay. I want to look for by-products, but it’s dark and I can’t see them. I think it will be faster this way.”
“I’ll take the lead.”
Carrot, who was entering the cave with red eyes open, stopped.
“What is that?”
“what’s the matter?”
“It’s a dead-end room, but there’s something strange about it. Take out the light, since no one is there.”
I took a light ball out of my pocket and held it up to find that it was blocked inside and had a nicely decorated door attached to the wall. It was made of bronze, and to my surprise it was slightly open, letting in the light inside.
Unlike Crank, who had stopped, Carrot walked casually, then bent over and peeked through the gap in the open door.
“uh? Doesn’t this make sense?”
Crank approached and asked.
“What’s inside?”
“look.”
Crank leaned over to peek through the crack in the door, then pulled back in surprise. After holding the helmet in his hand for a moment, he reached forward and yanked at the door. Despite the bronze door, it opened gently.
wheein-!
A gentle breeze blew with a bright green light. Beyond the open bronze door, the broad daylight forest spread out.
“This is the most shocking thing in my short adventurer life.”
Looking up at him, Carrot jumped into the door without hesitation. Then he looked around and hopped back inside.
Seeing Automaton Carrot’s actions, Crank felt his legs loosen up. Complex emotions passed for a moment, then he murmured lowly.
“I’ll take care of your allowance when I get back.”
“ah? really? Thank you child.”
“So please don’t act rashly just because you’re an automaton.”
Carrot smiles brightly. It was the smile of an automaton shown only to its owner, Crank.
Crank pulled out his shortsword, put it across the door frame, and went inside. I did it in fear that the door would close, but it didn’t move at all.
“Oh, cool.”
Carrot, who entered first, spread her arms and felt the wind. Crank looked around and looked at the bronze door first. It was placed on a hill with forest on all sides, but to my surprise there was nothing behind the door. Only the door stands there.
“Crank over there!”
When Carrot beckoned, Crank turned his head and found Orcs running between the trees in the forest below the hill. And I was surprised to see where they were headed. There were several other similar hills, and on the hills stood the bronze gate.
“This is the entrance. It wasn’t like a cave connected to the other side.”
“Are you going back?”
“No, I haven’t gotten anything yet.”
After descending the hill and crossing the forest, Crank and Carrot soon found an orc village. Animal bones and mud pools were made everywhere, and there were many houses built by cutting down trees around, and people could be seen trapped in them.
At first I thought I saw it wrong.
Krank asked, narrowing his eyes.
“Carrot, isn’t that a person?”
“That’s right, judging by the way you look, you look like an adventurer. Wow, there’s an elf over there too.”
The elf Carrot pointed to was hanging upside down from a nearby tree.
I feel the blood rushing backwards.
“Kwaaa!”
The large orcs who remained in the village found them. Crank pulled his arm back and threw the hatchet with all his might.
Kang-!
The flying ax was blocked by the black shield raised by the orc. Crank glanced at the flying hatchet, flicking sparks.
“With this payoff, you can buy a house. Carrot, kill all the orcs.”
phut-!
Carrot, who ran like a bullet, jumped up and kicked the shield. poop!!!!
“Quack?!”
The other orcs were frightened when they saw their comrades flying behind them, but Carrot, who landed on the ground, made an unexpected expression.
“Is your shield really strong? What is it made of?”
Carrot attacked the orcs without waiting for an answer. When the shield appeared, he quickly fell to the floor and slipped through the space under the round shield to stand up among the orcs inside.
“braided! It was a feat that the smallest and cheapest automaton could do! Cross the shield!”
“Queek!?”
Seeing the sudden appearance of Carrot, the Orcs panicked and raised their axes and knives. At the same time, Carrot closed her eyes and took the music box doll’s ballet pose.
Carrot starts spinning. Her skirt rose, and the centrifugal force ejected a hidden blade, slicing through everything around her.
Whoa! Chaaagh!
“aaak?!”
“Keu hoo woah!”
It was like a tiring whirlpool of how fast it was spinning.
