Chapter 47: Chapter 47

[Third POV]

In the end Solon decided to join the humans in the central area of the village.

There he saw a crown of them both young and old male and female holding knifes from their kitchens, axes, shovels and other kind of utensils that could be used as weapons.

A minority of the crowd was unarmed althought the way they walked and stood showed more stability hinting to their bending abilities.

"Ok ,people. Those with axes go and gather wood, we will need it to make spears. The benders will follow me, we are going to reinforce the wall outside the village. The rest of you, gather food and water. We will need as much as possible." A man said as he raised himself above the crowd.

The people immediately got to work.

Despite their lack of training and team work, their enthusiasm pushed them to work harder and faster to complete their tasks.

By the time they finished, Solon ccould hear and feel the battle that was taking place outside the Wall. He could hear both soldiers and chaotic spirits moaning in pain and rage as they clashed.

Yet he remained indiferent to their deaths.

He just sat there with the humans that were now resting while brewing and giving out tea.

"How relaxing. I never thought I would be able to enjoy such fine tea in my life." An older man commented after taking a sip of his tea.

"Why is that? Isn't tea something we should enjoy?" Solon asked already knowing what answer he would receive.

"Tea is something we should enjoy indeed, however most of the good tea is hoarded by the nobles. We only have access to wild tea leaves and the tea that is brewed by them is unenjoyable."

Solon chose not to comment on that and once again started giving tea to the humans around.

[Battlefield]

"and so it begins." He said as spikes were created at the wall's side.

The soldier's on top of the wall paled as they looked at the thousands of chaotic spirits that were rushing towards them.

"Don't waste time. Shoot down the flying ones!" The marshal screamed waking most soldiers up.

They rushed to bend the rocks that were previously loaded onto the wall and started throwing them to the flying spirits that had closed in on them.

hundreds of stones flying to the air as some of them collided eith spirits causing them to fall to their deaths as they got impaled on the spikes and the trees on the ground. While any stone that missed got positioned to delay the beasts that were rushing towards them.

The wavves of stones continued aas more of the eagles, flies, butterflies and even wasps as big as a human fell to never rise again, yet despite all that the marshal's face got grimmer by the second as he saw that they were using their ammunitioon way faster than possible to reccover them.

"Send more people to gather stones to be used and decrease our firing rate by a little. Make sure to inform the soldiers to throw when out enemies get closer. We can't waste time right now." He said to his brother as he looked at the battlefield.

"Right away."

The marshal, also known as Homon took a small necklace from inside his armor and open the circular rock that was hanging at it's edge.

Inside it, was a drawing of him and his brother together with the rest of their family.

He closed his eyes for a single second during which the sound of screams was muted.

'It's time.' He thought as he opened his eyes which were refilled with decisivness.

"DROP!" He screamed as he jumped directly from the wall while thousands of soldiers stopped shooting rocks and followed him.

As they were dropping chaotic spirits tried to attack them.

Some of them succeded which led to several hundred soldiers falling to their deaths, but most of them failed due to the support of the shooting corps from the walls top.

As they aproached the ground most soldiers created a small platform that they used to slow themselves down. Only to jump from it as well once they recached the ground.

As they hit the earth, they slammed their feet and hands down making the ground rise and throw the chaotic spirits that had closed in on them towards the back of the horde, which led to them been trampled alive.

*ROAR*

Thousands of roars were heard as bears, lions, gorillas and other animals and spirits that had glowing purple lines all over them attacked tha soldiers.

"Engage freely and remember to not take them on alone!" The marshal shouted as he used his hands to make the earth crack and shake violently.

The once again slammed one of his feet to the ground making the ground rise in some places and sink in others.

'This should make it harder for them to swarm us.' He thought as he attacked a gorilla that jumped towards him with raised hands.

[Third POV]

'Amazing!' thought a small red-haired boy as he looked at a man fighting multiple chaotic spirits alone and killing them(although with difficulty) before resting for a single minute and rushing into battle once again.

'Is that what teacher meant when he said some people connect to their element so well is seems like they become part of it?' The boy though as he ignored an eagle that dived towards him.

Yet despite the speed and power behind the eagle's dive, a small amount of sand rose from the ground stopping easily the eagle's attack and crushing it's beak.

The next moment, the same sand entered the eagle's mouth which exploded shortly after.

The sand entered the boy's gound once again silently while the boy didn't even turn towards it.

"Ahhh! Seems like he needs some help." The boy said as he rushed towards the middle of the bettlefield while ignoring everything around him.
