Awakening in the stars

After the hard landing from orbit the three Spartans slowly got their bearings and looked around they could see the wreckage of what what left of the covenant supercarrier, now it was atop a mountain, on fire and in several pieces. As they tore their eyes away from the carrier and looked around them they could see a road that went away from the mountain as well as a crashed satellite not to far from them as well as a pistol that they could use if it wasn't too broken.

As Six picked up the pistol and checked to see if it was working, Jamie walked over to Jorge so that they could plan their next move from there. "So what's the plan?" he asked Jorge when he got over to him "Well if my memory serves me right then we are close to the city of New Alexandria, it has a starport as well as the ONI civilian hq which we need to get to so that we can get back to command all we'll have to do is follow the main road, hows that pistol doin Six?" the tall spartan said while wiping his brow as he had his helmet off. "It works but its the only one around here and there's only two extra magazines." Six said as he walked over to the other two spartans. "Well that means that until we find more supplies that me and Seven are just gonna have to make do with our combat knives." Jorge said as he put his helmet back on and started to walk to the road "Just like Rambo." Jamie said with a grin as he followed behind Jorge with Six bringing up the rear.

CUT TO BEGINNING CUTSCENE OF EXODUS

As the three Spartans reached the top of the hill they finally saw it, the city of New Alexandria. Noting the increased comm signals and seeing the obvious signs of the city burning along side a trio of covenant corvettes in the distance slowly approaching the three spartan quickly ran into the city dropping down into an empty street. As they peeked around corners with Six taking point with the only pistol the signs of fighting were obvious, plasma burns scored the walls with bullet casings littering the floor, as they dropped a level lower they saw a civilian dead against a wall near them giving it a brief glance before moving on as a voice was heard over comms. "This is Kilo Dispatch, all available teams advance to Traxus Tower." said a mans voice as a falcon flew overhead. Six merely nodded at them before following it with Jamie and Jorge close behind him. "Evacuation will commence ASAP." the man continued before another responded "Copy dispatch, what's the status of the tower pad?" a new voice asked as the Spartans watched another falcon appear at follow the first one. "Towe pad is green, let's move these civilians before it changes." said Kilo dispatch, "Copy dispatch 40 out." came another call before the line went dead.

As the three Spartans advanced they came across more plasma burns along the walls and floors as well as bodies of both civilians and soldiers before entering a building, entering they found stairs and as they went up them they heard noises. Staying low Six crept up the stairs as Jorge and Jamie stayed a little behind when suddenly three skirmishers peered down at them from the top of the stairs and without hesitation Six shot one in the head as the other two ran for cover. As the jackals ran so did the spartans with Six barely giving Jorge and Jamie any time to show off their knife skills before he got another two clean head shots. As he reloaded Jamie walked over to the first dead skirmisher and took its plasma pistol as Jorge did the same while tossing the last one to Six for backup.

Seeing another soldier dead near a set of door the three Spartans had just stepped in when a new voice come over the comm. "Romeo Company be advised, we have reports of su*cide squads." the man said, "You gotta be kidding me." said another voice sounding tired before the first voice responded "Negative keep your eyes open troopers.". Almost as if talking about it had summoned them, a trio of grunts suddenly ran towards them screaming while waving around their plasma grenades which didn't get them very far before each of the Spartans killed one a piece. As they walked further into the building it got noticeably darker so they quickly switched on their night vision in their helmets before walking further in and down into the building.

As Six shot a grunt who was hiding as the bottom of the ramp they were about to take, the comm came online again. "Kilo 26 this is Kilo 40, Covenant corvette is rainin hell on us! Final Protective fire -1 close, on my command over!" "Copy Kilo 40, firing FPF-1 at your command." hearing this Jorge and Six suddenly sped up which would have confused Jamie if he hadn't of known what was about to happen. As they reached the bottom of the ramp the comm lit up again "Fire FPF-1 over." the fire voice said before quickly being followed by the second "Firing FPF-1 . . . Shot." "Hold onto yer helmets!" yelled the first voice. As the Spartans reached the basement and killed another two grunts before they could light up their grenades suddenly a loud explosion sounded in the distance as the building shook around them with several beams creaking ominously, "Kilo 40 request FPF sit-rep" they heard as they picked up the grenades from the dead grunts and went further into the basement, "Negative 26, corvettes still coming!" "Copy 40 firing FPF-2 . . . Shot." another boom and the ground and walls shook violently as the Spartans continued as fast as they could "Damn how do you stop that thing!" the man yelled as the three Spartan entered the largest area of the basement, which was naturally full of grunts. 

As they burst into action Jamie remembered that more would always come in from the other side of the room so he quickly told Six "Cover the other side of the room incase more show up.". Six merely nodded and Jorge and Jamie got to work killing grunts before they got close enough with their grenades as Six opened up once more grunts tried to run in from the other side just as they did in the game. As they reloaded and crossed to the other side of the room Jamie remembered how all the grunts would get clogged on the stairs in the next room and so he turned to Six "Hey can I have that frag, I've got a feeling I'll need it pretty soon. he said as they walked past the small pile of grunts that Six had made, Six handed him the grenade and just when the reached the next room a dozen grunts noticed them and all tried and failed to run down the stairs at the same time towards the Spartans. Jamie simply took the frag and tossed it into the middle of the grunts and as a few squealed in fear the grenade went off in a mass explosion of grunts and plasma as the other grenades were set off. As they walked through the mess jorge scoffed and said "Guess that feeling was right." before they walked out of the basement and a covenant spirit full of brutes shooting at civilians and marines.

Noting the dead marine in front of him had an assault rifle, Jamie quickly ran for it as Six and Jorge opened up on the brutes and moved down a ramp to the left of the door they came out of. As he scooped up the rifle and checked how much ammo it had Jamie saw Jorge and Six helping marines to get the civilians up to a more defensible position as the spirit filled with brutes moved further away and began unloading its occupants. As he walked over he heard several soldiers exclaim is surprise seeing upon seeing that spartans. "Spartans? Where the hell did they come from?" asked one of the men "Doesn't matter, Spartans assist." yelled out another before the same voice was heard over comms "Evac Team 7 to Kilo 26, we have eyes on Traxus Tower." "Copy Evac 7. Move to assist the evac over.".

As they cleared up the brutes who landed earlier Jorge stopped a trooper and asked "How do we get to the tower?", "Elevator in the atrium goes down to the cargo port, cargo port goes to the tower." before Jorge could respond however a voice yelled out "Contacts to the west." as a squad of brutes and skirmishers rush out of the building they had to go through, Jamie quickly turned and opened up on the brutes as their spikers posed a bigger threat than the plasma pistols that the skirmishers carried. After a combined effort from him and Six the area was once again cleared and everyone was ready to move. "Okay, lets move in and find that elevator." 

As the group consisting of five marines and three Spartans move into the building with civilians in tow Jamie remembers how grunts always sneaked behind him during this part of the level so turning to Jorge he says, "I'll take the upper landing just in case." Jorge nods before Jamie takes off for the stairs and just like in the game there are several sleeping grunts he dealt with silently and efficiently before moving back to the others to help them fight the grunts and jackals that were waiting for them at the bottom of two large staircases. After killing the grunts the group moved further up the stair before ducking down after taking fire from a group of brutes and jackals who were further up near the elevator. As they reached the top of the staircase and going over to the elevator one of the marines pressed the elevator button, but even after two full minutes it still did not arrive, "What the hell is taking this thing so long?" the man asked "Uh we're evacuating a group of civilians on the floor below, soon as they reach the cargo port I'll send the elevator back up." came a response over the comm. "Ok, everyone find some cover, stay sharp we need to hold this position."

While they were shuffling about getting ready for a fight a phantom flew overhead, "Dropships deploying to the courtyards watch your flanks!" Jorge called out as Jamie and Six each took a position at the doorway on either side of the elevator watching as brutes and grunts jumped out their transports. Seeing the large helmet that was the cause of many headaches during legendary Jamie quickly yelled out "Got a brute chieftain over here!" as he opened up on the grunts who had gotten closer. As the grunts collapsed and the brutes closed in Jamie primed a plasma grenade a threw it at them getting it to luckily stick to one of them before he went back behind the wall he was using as cover as he heard the beast panic before the grenade went off as as he looked back he saw that he had gotten lucky as only the brute chieftain was left and it was running straight at him.

"Contact closing in fast!" he yelled as he fired while swiftly backing away. As the brute got closer it swung its gravity hammer erratically roaring fiercely as it tried to him Jamie and the marines since Jorge and Six were still tied up with the covenant that had pushed up the stairs towards them. As the marines fired frantically Jamie noticed that the brutes shield still only flickered as the assault rifles wielded by the troopers didn't do enough damage to overload them, thinking quickly he switched to his plasma pistol and held down the trigger for five seconds before letting go and watching with satisfaction as the plasma bolt struck the brute on its chest overloading its shield and staggering it causing it to stop swinging it's hammer which the marines took advantage of, filling the beast with lead and finally putting it down. 

After that brief hectic moment, Jamie reloaded his assault rifle and seeing as that overcharge plasma shot had drained all the power out of his plasma pistol threw it to the side and took the brutes gravity hammer hefting it over his shoulder to better handle its weight. Jorge and Six had finished cleaning up the covenant reinforcements by now and Jorge nodded to the hammer that Jamie now wielded, "Nice toy." he said "Thanks." Jamie replied as the elevator finally dinged and opened its doors. As the three Spartans got onto the elevator one of the soldiers nodded at them and saluted, Jorge and six merely nodded while Jamie saluted back. 

Once they reached the cargo port their comm came online "If you three are trying to get to the tower your to late spartans, corvette over the starport has been pounding the hell out of the place. Cargo port is impassable on foot and rooftop evacs are lost. We can use the executive evac pad, just no easy way to get there. A group of ODST specialists are working a plan, they might appreciate the backup.". As the three spartans exited the elevator they could see several marines and ODSTs planning something as well as the damage done by the covenant corvette, with much of the area impassable, while they restock on ammo and grenades several voices come on the comm "Hey there they are, those are the spartans they've been talking bout!" exclaimed one voice "Radio's been buzzing about you three, yall feel like jumping?" yelled another "We got some extra jumpacks, go ahead try em on". As the Spartans put on their jumpacks Jamie felt excited since despite the difficulty of this portion of the level on legendary, it was still pretty fun to use a jetpack and not immediately get destroyed like in the multiplayer.

As they finished putting the jumpacks on the squad of ODSTs finally came over to them "Welcome to the Bullfrogs, we're gonna capture the landing pad on the executive wing so the bird can land, try and keep up spartans." with that the spartans and odsts jumped from platform to platform getting across tha chasm and closer to the port. Once they were closer Jamie could see that there were grunts on both levels and so he called out "Noble Six take the lower level with me." With a nod Six joined Jamie as they split off from the rest and landed on the lower level spooking several grunts before firing at them. Once they were done they moved to the stair to the side and come up behind several grunts and jackals that were giving the odsts and Jorge a tough time. Without a second though Jamie tossed a grenade behind them and ducked as it went off throwing covenant and shrapnel all over the place. 

Once they left the stair well and joined the others they made quick work of the reinforcing brutes while making ground and moving past several containers. Reaching another set of stairs Jamie and Six once again used their jumpacks and killed several grunts that were hiding at the top of the stair before the other got to them before they all turned as a group and faced the next wave of brutes. This time it was more challenging however since there were half a dozen brutes as well as two brute chieftains, one with a gravity hammer and the other with a fuel rod cannon. As the spartans provided covering fire the odsts threw grenades to overload and fuel rod chieftain's shield before Six took it down with a head shot, the other one was proving more difficult however as it kept rushing them to try and use its hammer, so once the other brutes were dead Jamie took out his own gravity hammer that he had taken earlier and faced the chieftain himself ducking under two swings and delivering one of his own losing part of his shield forcing him to back off to let it recharge as the other finished reloading and started to fire at the brute to distract it. This worked and once a well placed shot from Six took down the brutes shield Jamie ran forward and smashed the hammer into the beast head finally putting it down. 

As Jamie caught his breath the other reloaded and began to move past him with him quickly bringing up the rear as the reached the tower several marines were waiting for them "Go up and to the other side that where your needed." one of them said pointing to a landing a few stories above them. As they were lighter the ODSTs went straight to it while the spartans went two levels at a time do to the fact that they weighed a lot more than the ODSTs did. Once they finally reached the top they saw the Bullfrogs already assisting other odsts and marines to fend of covenant forces trying to overrun them while also trying not to get hit by a phantom that was providing fire support nearby. "Spartans over here." yelled an odst while beckoning them closer.

Reaching the odst Jorge and Six immediately provide covering fire so that other can reload taking out several grunts and jackals while Jamie swaps his gravity hammer for a rocket launcher and his assault rifle for a shotgun knowing that they would be needed soon once they reached the top of the tower. Once the covenant outside were dead the three spartans regrouped with the remaining odsts as well as a few marines and planned out their next move. Jamie and Jorge would lead the charge with marines right behind them protecting the civilians while the odsts covered their flanks and Six brought up the rear with a DMR and sniper that was found nearby.

As they charged out Jamie saw the jackal snipers and called out to Six "We got snipers Six take them out." he said while he and Jorge engaged the brutes and grunts that had come down the stairs, dealing with them easily with the crack of Six sniper taking out the three jackal snipers giving the other breathing room to move forward. Reaching the walkway to the landing pad Jamie saw several grunts with fuel rod cannons as well as several jackals and brutes told Jorge to hang back for a second while he switched to his rocket launcher and aimed at the mass of covenant soldiers. Pulling the trigger the rocket flew forward catching several grunts of guard with their squeals of panic being heard just before the rocket slammed into them, taking them all out save for a few who were further back who posed little threat and Jorge charged forward and dealt with them.

With the bridge clear the Six and the remaining soldiers decided that they would use a two pronged approach to deal with the covenant troops that were inside and around the landing pad, Jamie and Six would go above onto the second level and takeout any snipers and brutes who would be able to take advantage of the cover before destroying the two shade turrets that were on the landing pad proper, while they did that Jorge and that odsts would go through the center of the room clearing it out while the marines would provide support wherever they were needed with Jamie and Six jumping down to assist them once they finished off the shade turrets.

As they split off to execute the plan Jamie gave his last plasma grenade to Six since he already had the rocket launcher, soon both Spartans were flying up the stairs on each side of the landing pad room blasting away and the brutes who were on the upper level as the others took advantage of the chaos to burst through the main set of doors catching the grunts on the lower level by surprise. Drawn in by all the noise and chaos a group of jackals and brutes stormed in from the landing pad as covenant spirit hovered over the pad depositing more, among them were two brute chieftains one with a gravity hammer and the other with a fuel rod cannon who were quickly noticed by Jamie "We got more contacts coming in from the landing pad, marines assist the lower level." he said over the comm as the marines sprang into action providing support to Jorge and the odsts as more covenant rushed in.

By now both Six and Jamie had cleared the upper level of all the brutes and so they turned their attention to the shade turrets outside that were manned by grunts as all the brutes had run inside, taking aim with his rocket launcher Jamie pulled the trigger watched as the projectile flew and slammed into the base of the turret taking out the grunt and the turret in one go as Six did the same on the other side but with two plasma grenades for good measure. Now that they were done with the turrets they turned their attention to the stalemate that was going on between the covenant and the others inside the room. Noticing the the brutes were hanging back while the grunts and jackals pushed forward Jamie used the last of his rockets and took out most of them with only the two brute chieftains left alive. Without a word Six threw down frags to confuse the grunts and jackals which worked as they were soon running around in disarray giving Jorge the odsts and the marines some breathing room.

The brutes did not appreciate this however as both chieftains became enraged with the gravity hammer one rushing towards Jorge and the other as the fuel rod one took aim at Six. Before it could fire Jamie jumped down from the upper level slamming his now empty rocket launcher into its head staggering it while Six switched to the sniper rifle that he was using earlier. A Jamie picked himself up off the ground and faced the brute he swiftly rolled to the side at it swung its fuel rod cannon at him with a roar no longer paying attention to its associate who was slowly getting overwhelmed by Jorge and the odsts. As Jamie dodged swing after swing he threw in some of his own, even managing to get a combo that ended with a brutal uppercut that knocked the brutes helmet off before it finally managed to land a hit on his side throwing him a few feet to the side depleting his shield by half. Groaning as he got back on his feet Jamie faced the brute once again but noticed Six on the upper level signaling to him, with an imperceptible nod he threw himself back at the alien, dodging a wild haymaker before swiftly getting behind the brute and throwing a hard right hook to the back of its unprotected skull. With a roar of pain the brutes staggered forward tossing aside its fuel rod cannon and reaching for the gravity hammer on its beck, but before it could grab it Six shot it in the back of its skull with his sniper rifle, ending the beasts rampage.

As Jamie picked himself up he looked over at Jorge and the others to see that Jorge had somehow managed to wrestle the brutes hammer away and beat it to death with it, seeing Jamie and Six were done as well Jorge tossed aside the bloody hammer before walking over "Its crude but I can see why they do it." He said as he reached them, Jamie could almost hear Sixs eyebrow raise incredulously while a few odsts who had heard him chuckled a little. With the landing pad clear one of the odsts called out over the comm "Yankee 9 to Echo Dispatch, Landing pad is clear send in the evac bird." and a few second later "Copy Yankee 9. Birds away." came a reply a few moments later. 

As the Marines and the ODSTs gathered the wounded and civilians a Pelican and three Falcons arrived with one of the falcons landing as its pilot signals the three spartans over, as they approach one of the ODSTs steps forward, "Pleasure jumping with you spartans, we'll make sure those evac transports are safe you go give those covenant freaks a fight to remember." he says as he salute. The spartans salute back before jumping in the falcon with Six sitting in the middle as Jorge and Jamie man the two turrets on either side. As they are getting in they hear the pelican pilot over the comm "Evac transport Delta 15 to Evac Dispatch, we're loaded up and ready to go." "Delta 15 this is evac dispatch, copy that proceed at your discretion."

As the falcon lifts off the pilot starts to talk over the comm "City's been under siege for the last five days. Thought we had it in hand, then those corvettes showed up. Our fleet's scattered, pulling back. Hell, we all got orders to evacuate. Guess some of us just don't like leaving a job half-finished..." he said grimly. As he listens Jamie notices several marines on rooftops fighting back brutes "Contacts!" he yells before opening up with the machine gun turret, giving the marines time to reload as brutes are filled with lead. 

Leaving the marines behind they hear a conversation over the comm as they fly over another building taking shots at any covenant they see they hear Delta 15 over the radio again "Delta 15 to dispatch: Banshee squadron on my tail! Taking fire!" the pilot says in a panic. "Copy, Delta 15. Can you-" dispatch begins to say but before he can finish Delta 15 starts to yell"Mayday! Port engines hit, we're going in! I'm going to try to set her down!". Seeing as they need help the Dispatch operator calls out "Fox Actual to UNSC frigate Stalwart Dawn: request immediate airstrike on Covenant corvette over starport."

As all this is going on Jamie and Jorge have been firing upon any and all covenant they see as the pilot takes them an alternate route due to the high traffic of covenant in the midtown area. Clearing a particularly infested rooftop they try to help out a trio of warthogs that are trying to keep a pair of covenant wraith tanks away from a group of marines. Then a group of banshees come out of nowhere forcing them to switch targets. As all of this is happening the comm sounds again this time however its the UNSC Stalwart Dawn "Solid copy, Fox Actual. Longswords unavailable at this time, over."

As they drive the banshees back for a second and their turrets cool down a new voice comes over the comm "This is civilian transport 6 Echo 2, I need to go now, Sergeant Major!" comes a panicked voice with a few other barely audible in the background, lighting up the sky with lead again the spartans barely hear the reply over the sound of machine guns and plasma batteries "Hold on, Echo 2. Stalwart Dawn, I have multiple commercial craft loaded with civilians. I have got to get them out of this city. I need air support, now!" they barely hear as the Stalwart Dawn replies "As soon as something is free you'll be the first to-" "Not good enough." the dispatch cuts them off as Echo 2 come back sounding more frustrated "I've got six hundred souls on board, Sergeant Major! I can't wait any longer!" "Negative, Echo 2, I can't cover you! Do not take off!" Fox Actual says in a hurry as Echo 2 curses "Dammit!"

As Jorge and Jamie finish off the last of the banshees they enter the bay and notice a starcraft about to take off, it seems that Echo 2 is about to take off regardless of orders. It seems that the covenant corvette over the starport notices this as well as it fires instantly on the transports port side. "Oh my god!" says the pilot as they all see the transport quickly lose altitude as fire and smoke spread along it while the pilot shouts "Mayday Mayday!" in a panic. "6 Echo 2 can you maintain altitude?" Fox actual hurriedly shouts "Negative we're going down!" the pilot yells before the transport hits the water and begins to sink.

"Son of a bitch, I can't watch this" their pilot curses as they approach a small beach where missile batteries are placed. "Fox Actual... Should we send search-and-rescue birds?" Dispatch asks "Negative, Dispatch. No point." comes the grim reply as the Falcon reached the other side of the beach where they see several marines pinned down by brutes jackals and grunts, the pilot maneuvers in a way that lets both Jorge and Jamie open up on the covenant quickly putting them down. As the falcon starts to descend they finally meet the voice of Fox Actual "Spartans! Sergeant Major Duvall. Awful day so far... Let's keep it from getting any worse, huh? Covies are all over my missile batteries, and I got five thousand civilians across the bay waiting for passage out. I need you to arm those batteries and fire those missiles from the central terminal. Understood? Corvette's been a pain in my ass for too damn long. Give it hell, Spartans!"

The three Spartans swiftly jump out of the falcon and get their gear together as Jamie lays down the plan according to the level he remembered. "Jorge you stay with the marines and provide cover while me and Six turn on the missile batteries." he said as Jorge nodded before moving over to the marines "Six you get the missile battery on the far side while I get the one up close, once I'm done with that we'll both focus on the wraiths so that the marines can push up and once they're taken out I'll push up with them while you pick of covenant from afar with the sniper." Six nodded before moving to get more sniper ammo as Jamie put away a frag grenade and and took more assault rifle ammo.

As Six and Jamie met up with Jorge and the marines he heard the Sgt Major talking to the marines, "Troopers! We need to push 'em back off our beach!" they heard yell before they pushed forward as Jorge jumped onto the gun of a warthog Jamie hopped on a mongoose with Six right behind him as he sped off towards the first missile battery. As he got to the bottom of the wall and hopped off the mongoose Six took the driver's seat and sped off while Jamie used his rocket pack to leap over the wall and activate the missile battery. Activating it he looked over and saw an equipment locker by the wall with a rocket launcher in it, swapping it for his pistol Jamie remembered that there were covenant at the top of the stairs so he used him jupack to get to the top of the wall as just as the brutes at the top saw him he tossed a grenade at their feet before dropping back down and sprinting for the stairs as he heard the brutes freak out before a loud BOOM went off.

As he finished off the grunts that dove out of the way one of the transports from the starport came on the comm, "Civilian transport 7 Echo 3 to Fox Actual: my engines are hot, waiting for your go." the pilot sounded calm despite the situation as Sgt Major Duvall replied "Copy that, 7 Echo 3. We're working on it."

Suddenly he heard the cries of several grunts and the BOOM of an explosion and looking over Jorge and the marines had somehow managed to take out one of the wraith tanks with two marines even comandering the ghosts that a pair of grunts had abandoned in a panic, that or they were shot off by Jorge who was still firing it the covenant atop his turret. Chuckling at the sight of grunts running around in circles Jamie made his way over to the bridge between the two missile batteries. As he walked along the bridge he heard a roar and looking at the otherside he saw that Six was killed all the brutes guarding the other battery and was now fighting the brute chieftain that was supposed to be on the bridge as Echo 3 come on the comm again in the background "Sergeant Major! Covenant are banging on my bay door. I've got families and wounded onboard. I've got to get airborne!" he said now sounding more panicked as Duvall responded "Easy, 7 Echo 3. Spartan's going to clear the skies."

Sprinting over Jamie watched as Six and the brute traded blows with Six even managing to break the brute shield before being backhanded and throw into a wall before the brute could do anything else Jamie opened up on it with his assault rifle taking advantage of its lowered shield. As it roared and charged at him Six got up and seeing the brute occupied went over to the missile battery and activated it, Jamie didn't get to see much else before the brute was upon him swinging its arms wildly in a attempt to hit him, but Jamie didn't give it a chance as he ducked out of the way and smacked it across the face with his assault rifle angering it more as it lunged at him. Jumping out of the way Jamie talked it to the ground before drawing his combat knife and plunging it into the back of the beasts head finally putting it down.

As Jamie walked over to Six they heard Duvall over the comm "That's it, batteries primed! Now get over to the East Complex, and fire those missiles!". Before doing that Jamie used a health pack as Six took out a pack of brutes that had tried to sneak up on the along with a pair of jackal skirmishers. As they finished up and turned their attention to the East complex they heard Echo 3 on the comm again "Sergeant Major, the Covies are almost through my door!" the man sounded like he was about to freak out spurring Six and Jamie along as Jamie sprinted across the grass to catch up with Jorge and the Marines as Six set up his sniper and started taking shots at brute majors that were visible while Duvall came over the comm again to calm echo 3 down "Steady, Echo 3! That corvette is still up there!"

As Jamie reached Jorge a marine suddenly shouted "Heads up! Spirit dropping in!" as they moved towards the stair to the complex. As more grunts and jackals dropped down Jorge opened up with the warthog turret providing covering fire for Jamie and the marines as Six picked off the brutes from a distance. As they neared the top they came face to face with another pair of brute chieftains one with a hammer the other with a fuel rod cannon. As they got ready to fight them the comm lit up again "That's it! They've breached the landing bay!" came Echo 3s panicked voice not even hearing Duvalls reply Jamie switched to his rocket launcher are Six emptied a full clip of sniper rounds killing the gravity hammer chieftain as Jamie launched two rockets that directly impacted the other chieftain killing it in a massive explosion. 

Without even waiting for the smoke from the blast to clear Jamie flew past the remains of the two chieftains and activates the two missile batteries. A second later Sgt Major Duvall is heard on the comm "Missile defense online. All evac transports, you are clear for takeoff! Repeat, you are cleared for takeoff! Go, now!" as he yells out six missiles shoot up into the sky, hitting the corvette. Several explosions erupt along its hull with the damaged ship disengaging from the area as civilian transports fly overhead. Echo 3 is heard on the comm again and this time he sounds relieved. "Civilian transports away. You saved a lot of lives today, Spartan." 

As Jorge and Jamie leave the marines and Duvall behind and regroup with Six, the three spartans watch as several transports fly up and away from the burning city with Jamie hoping that they manage to leave before it's too late. As they watch them leave in silence suddenly their comm lights up and Jamie is both excited for what's next, excited because they get to save more lives but also afraid that he might not be able to save the one who's calling them, "...you copy? Repeat, this is Noble Two. Noble Six, Noble Five, Noble Seven do you copy?" "This is Six. Go ahead Noble Two." as Jamie and Jorge's armor were slightly damaged they could only receive and not send out transmissions but by some dumb plot armor luck ;) Sixs still works just fine. "We picked up your transponder about an hour ago, but we could not risk open comms. Covenant have this city sealed tight. We're getting nothing from Jorge and Jamie." "They made it, suits are just damaged." sounding relieved Two was quick to answer "Perfect, what's the situation at the starport?" "The last transport is away." Six said "Alright we're bringing you to us." with that Six took a signal flare out lighting it before tossing it to the ground as Jamie began to relax after several hours of fighting and killing as well as watching people both civilians and soldiers die.

With a sigh he tossed his rocket launcher on the ground and sat next to it as Jorge and Six looked at him "What?" Jamie asked them "Never seen a Spartan get tired? I've been fighting ever since I got back to Reach and apparently I was in cryo for 20 years before that." he said as Six continued to look at him while Jorge started chuckling before he spoke, "So that's why I didn't remember you, ONI probably took you away from the rest of us and did something with you, I don't remember anyone like you from training." he said as he stopped laughing and stared Jamie dead in the face. Now tense Jamie took a second to collect his thought before answering 'SHIT SHIT SHIT I KNEW THIS WOULD HAPPEN' he said freaking out internally "Probably, though I know plenty about the rest of the you guys, not much about the threes but I guess even Six isn't the only one here that has a lot of black ink all over them" he said calmly while hoping that he could meet that shadowy figure from ONI that he met when he first go het so that he could know what his actual backstory was supposed to be. Jorge stared at him for a second longer before shrugging "Sounds about right, as long as you fight for us I don't care much." he said before turning to Six "What do you think of our friend with missing links?" Six just stared at them both before a pelican arrived and they all silently entered the back of it, ready for the next fight.

A:N Hey sorry this took so long I wanted to make sure it was accurate and I also got whooping cough (somehow idk) and have been coughing up my lungs for the past two weeks, i'm thinking about adding a love interest later down the line what do y'all think. NOT HAREM just one, ya know to give Jamie another reason to shoot elites in the face and curb stomp grunts. I was thinking maybe Kat(Noble 2) or Miranda Keyes, if you can think on any others let me know, and if this is a horrible idea and you just want more SHOOT SHOOT BANG BANG then let me know.
