Chapter 315 - 311: Sun Secret Realm
Chapter 315: Chapter 311: Sun Secret Realm
Carl evidently hadn’t expected to be defeated once again, but feeling the gaze from behind, he silently accepted the outcome and continued towards the next level.
The difference in time between each sequence entering the secret realm was only ten minutes. Now it was barely twenty minutes. He could barely tolerate it.
Thinking of this, Carl quickly recovered from his continuous failures. He allowed the obelisk to treat the wounds of the corpse, while he continued to examine Li Xusheng’s situation.
Although he had taken back all the blood, Li Xusheng also seemed a bit exhausted. Gazing at Bai Qi, standing at the highest point, a mysterious light flashed in his eyes. Followingly, he put away his pets, sat cross-legged, and began to restore his strength.
Were these two really not going to fight?
Carl sighed, quite disappointed. He had initially hoped to see a winner between the two, yet the situation was concluded in this manner.
Thinking of this, Carl focused on his recovery, not sparing the situation another thought.
“Hello, can we start the fight?”
Just as the corpse was fully recovered with the help of the obelisk, a figure in white suddenly appeared on the platform of the tenth stage. Carl turned around at the sound, only to find Dean looking at him with a smile on his face. Behind Dean, the Holy Light Angel was hovering quietly in the sky, spreading out its two pairs of wings.
Carl: “…”
…
At noon.
The sun ascended to the center of the sky, and the runes on the obelisk were fully lit, displaying a massive golden pupil in front of everyone.
Simultaneously, all the live broadcasts disappeared, and the space around Mount Obelisk was shut off.
“The tournament ends here. The following exploration in the Sun Secret Realm will be commenced by these twelve individuals.”
Finished speaking, Malik turned to Bai Qi and said, “You can go in now.”
Bai Qi nodded, placed his hand on the massive eye rune of the obelisk, and his whole person was immediately enveloped by golden light. The golden light dissipated and Bai Qi disappeared on the spot.
Wang Chen and Bai Heguang came together to Malik’s side. Looking at the calm obelisk, Wang Chen suddenly laughed, “Lao Bai, do you think your disciple will surprise us again this time?”
“The myth inheritance isn’t so easy. Let’s see if he finds the real entrance.”
Bai Heguang shook his head and said, “And also, don’t call me Lao Bai, we’re not close.”
“Well…after all, we’ve known each other for over twenty years, how could you be so heartless?”
Wang Chen looked disappointed. Malik, standing by the side, helplessly shook his head and said, “You two are still acting the same after all these years.”
“You can’t blame me for this. Lao Bai always looks down on me. I’m innocent.”
Wang Chen shrugged innocently, and Bai Heguang ignored him, strolled to the side, and entered meditation.
“Same old, same old, how boring…”
Wang Chen stretched lazily, a mechanistic lounge chair suddenly appeared behind him. He took out an eye mask and put it on. Surprisingly, he started taking a nap right there and then.
…
Sun Secret Realm.
Bai Qi slowly opened his eyes and found himself in a small stone chamber.
The chamber was not spacious, made entirely of solid brick. With the light from the fire torch in the chamber, Bai Qi could barely make out what seemed like drawings on the walls.
Bai Qi went up for a closer look and realized the wall paintings depicted scenes of ancient people worshipping gods and receiving blessings. The god they worshipped was, of course, the Sun God.
However, Bai Qi was not especially focused on the Sun God, but he became interested in the human who was being blessed.
“Three eyes… the Sun Secret Realm really does have something to do with the Three-eyed Civilization.”
Looking at the third eye on the forehead of the human depicted in the murals, Bai Qi immediately summoned all his pets.
Ow-w-ow?
(Where is this? Why does it feel so dangerous?)
As soon as Beta appeared, it detected the abnormalities here. It was quickly drawn to the three-eyed human in the mural.
Ow!
(How is this human like me!)
Bai Qi paused for a moment and said, “It seems the so-called Three-eyed Civilization wasn’t born that way, but was bestowed by these mythical creatures.”
Ow…
(So, my eye is wholesale? I’m a little disappointed…)
Beta suddenly seemed quite disappointed, but Schuck was interested and said, “This secret realm seems a bit special. It’s more like a temple than an inheritance secret realm.”
Bai Qi nodded and said, “Hopefully, just not a tomb.”
This place was somewhat similar to some civilizations in his past life, and Bai Qi didn’t want to make a sequel to “The Mummy” for now.
However, from the looks of it, this place should be the temple of the Sun God. It certainly should not be related to those things.
Crackling.
(Master, I feel the presence of the undead.)
Alpha went to the door of the stone chamber, looked at the splendid square outside the chamber, and unconsciously gripped the Sword of Death.
“Can I say… I highly suspect I haven’t time-traveled…”
Looking at the increasingly familiar murals and ornaments outside the chamber, Bai Qi facepalmed and sighed.
“Chief, it seems like I have created a similar dreamland before. Have you been here before?”
Completely oblivious, Wormwood mercilessly delivered this blow to Bai Qi, who shook his head and resigned himself to the reality. He then stepped out of the stone room.
As he had seen from inside the stone room, this square was unusually spacious, and in the center stood a giant Golden Beetle Statue. The statue reflected golden light under the surrounding torchlight, casting a faint glow over the hall.
“Beta, have you found anything?”
Bai Qi patted Beta’s head, asking.
Awooo…
(I sense danger here, but I cannot pinpoint its exact location.)
Beta shook its head, its vertical pupils on the forehead suddenly opening as a burst of icy blue light scanned the surrounding walls without detecting anything unusual.
“I see…”
Bai Qi nodded, took a glance at the identical doors around him, then focused his gaze back on the beetle statue in front of him.
According to the information he had, this secret realm was the inheritance secret realm of the Sun Beetle. Since this statue was the only object here related to a beetle, it was likely to contain the clues.
“Alpha, check out this statue. Gamma, prepare your defenses.”
Bai Qi stepped back, signaling Alpha to approach the statue who, sensing the tension, cautiously approached with the Sword of Death and prodded the statue.
Nothing happened.
“As expected, I was overthinking.”
Seeing this, Bai Qi couldn’t help mocking himself. After all, no one would leave their inheritance lying in the lobby.
“Never mind. Let’s try somewhere else. Since the obelisk has teleported us here, the inheritance must also be here.”
Bai Qi surveyed the surroundings, intending to randomly choose a place to explore, when Beta’s vertical pupils suddenly turned golden. Simultaneously, golden patterns emerged around the palace, slowly converging towards the ceiling.
With the illumination of the gold light, Bai Qi finally noticed a golden pyramid suspended upside down above his head. Below it was the Golden Beetle Statue.
“It must be triggered by someone from the Three-eyed Civilization. So Yi Yu already knew what was here.”
Seeing this, Bai Qi became even more convinced that Yi Yu had planned this all along and grew even more wary.
He didn’t believe that the inheritance secret realm was without danger and was simply waiting for them to collect. If that were the case, the Yixiu family would have already ransacked this place, leaving nothing for them.
Eventually, as the upside-down pyramid was illuminated by the light, a drop of golden liquid dripped from the tip of the pyramid and fell precisely onto the top of the Golden Beetle Statue.
A moment of calm passed, then the sturdy Golden Beetle Statue cracked open, spewing a stream of molten gold straight at Bai Qi and the others below.
“Damn it, such a big show, and they’re using such a primitive trap!”
Bai Qi cursed under his breath and leaped onto Delta. With one swift move, Delta teleported them back to their original stone room. Alpha followed by grabbing Gamma and Wormwood and took flight.
Awooo, awooo!
(Damn bones, you’re being petty!)
Seeing that Alpha has left him behind, Beta began to grumble. Fortunately, Schuck extended his mechanical wings in time and quickly followed.
Not long after the departure of Bai Qi and his five pets, the Golden Beetle Statue completely melted into gold, inundating the entire square.
“Such a lavish trap made of so much gold, do we call this divine extravagance?”
Gazing down at the golden sea below him, Bai Qi couldn’t help but click his tongue. He then looked at Beta, whose vertical pupils were still radiating golden light, and said, “Beta, what do you feel now?”
Awooo…
(I can’t say for sure, but I seem to sense something else.)
Beta tilted its head thoughtfully, its golden vertical pupils scanning the golden sea below but uncertain of what it saw.
“Oh?”
Bai Qi’s eyes lit up. “Where?”
Beta extended a paw, pointing at the golden sea below.
“You’re saying it’s beneath this?”
Upon hearing this, Bai Qi hesitated. This was liquefied gold; even a Fifth Stage Beast Master plummeting into it would probably result in a barbecue.
Awooo!
(That’s right. That’s what my eyes tell me, understand?)
Silent at Beta’s words, Bai Qi turned to Schuck, “Schuck, have you analyzed what’s down there?”
“Unable to conduct an analysis due to unidentified energy interference.”
Schuck shook his head, “However, I agree with Beta’s statement.”
Bai Qi nodded. Clearly, Beta’s vertical pupils were related to the Three-eyed Civilization, and the golden sea appeared because of Beta. Maybe, the secret of the mythical secret realm lay here.
“Beta, you lead the way. Alpha, Gamma, Delta, remember to protect me.”
After he finished speaking, Bai Qi kicked the Husky into the golden sea below. Then, with Gamma wrapped around him, he rode Delta and plunged into the sea.
As Bai Qi and his five pets entered the golden sea, the calm molten gold began to whirl rapidly, the vortex centering around them. By the time the whirlpool disappeared, Bai Qi and his pets had vanished without a trace.
Following this, the golden molten liquid, as if alive, flowed together to reform the original beetle. The square darkened again as if nothing had happened at all.
