chapter 13
13 – Disciplinary Committee (2)
“This is the end of today’s class. Review is free, but I believe that the proud Imperial Academy student will make a wise decision for his future. Then.”
Hersy Minerva jumped to her feet as soon as class was over. She walked out of the classroom with a brisk walk. The destination was, of course, Delrin’s lake.
‘Since I’ve passed Magizoology, I’ll have plenty of time now.’
Wizards are a race that is sensitive to time. He hates having to spend time on things he doesn’t need. That is why the so-called pass system was created.
If you are a magician, the basic subjects you need to know are grouped into ‘required classes’, and it was a system that allowed you to complete them early. Teaching a student you already know is a loss to both the student and the professor.
In addition to Magic Zoology, Hercy passed ‘Magic Mathematics’ and ‘Magical Engineering’. Within a month of being placed in Expert, she had passed three of her required courses.
Her basic skills were supported, but it was clearly the result of hard work.
Originally, Hercy had no intention of trying to pass. That’s right, even if she completed the subject early, she didn’t have anything else to do.
But now it’s different. I became greedy to spend more time with Ruid. For that one, Hercy himself passed three with a surprising amount of effort.
It was a secret that only Hersy knew.
“Are you going to sleep today?”
Hersy laughed Betsy. Just imagining Louise sleeping with her made her laugh.
The concentration of magical power gradually increased, and a familiar scene appeared. A vast lake that has become an emerald color filled with magic power. It was the lake of Delrin.
“Louis…… “
Naturally, Hersie, who thought he would be sleeping today, stopped walking. Today, I saw a completely different sight than usual.
“It is said.”
A golden magic circle.
A never-before-seen pattern and mana arrangement.
“Your body is under me, and my fate is on your sword.”
Ruid put her magic circle in front of her and stretched out her right arm and chanted. The light of the magic circle grew stronger.
“I am forever the one who achieves all good, I am the one who forever suppresses all evil.”
‘It’s an unusual order… !’
Hersy gulped.
“According to the will of the Holy Grail, if you follow this will and this principle, respond. Guardian of the scale!”
As soon as Louise’s chant ended, an intense light burst out that blinded her. Hersy instinctively covered her eyes.
The light gradually fades.
I felt the mana that had been filling the atmosphere noticeably fade.
Hersy opened her eyes slowly.
A blonde female knight holding a flashy sword was above the magic circle. Its appearance was both beautiful and intimidating at the same time.
“I will ask.”
The blue-eyed girl spoke in a low voice and looked down at Ruid with cold eyes.
Hercy couldn’t believe what was happening in front of her eyes.
Because that blonde female knight—.
“Are you my boss?”
It was Amelia!
“Oh, sister.”
“Ugh, huh?”
“Not a boss, but a master. How many times have I told you, have you forgotten?”
Ruid grumbled with a face full of displeasure. Amelia drew her sword with a puzzled expression.
“It’s because the lines are too difficult.”
“It’s only two lines. My lines are more difficult.”
Amelia scratched her head. The feeling of intimidation she had just a moment ago was nowhere to be found, and her expression was blank.
Hersy walked away with an absurd smile.
‘… The person who treats Amelia like that is probably the only Ruid in the world.’
Ruid asked after finding Hercy.
“Did you come early today?”
“Louid, today…… You are doing something a little unusual.”
Hersy laughed awkwardly. Amelia’s face turned slightly red when she realized that Hercy was watching.
She coughed and threw her hands in the air. Her armor is disarmed and she returns to her normal school uniform.
“Lady Hercy. You came to see me today. I’m glad you hang out with my brother often.”
Amelia got down on one knee and dropped her eyes to the floor. She was a knight’s salute.
“I, I am truly honored.”
Hersy held out her hand. Amelia stood up, holding her hand.
It’s natural to be saluted by a knight, but Hercy was honestly uncomfortable with Amelia doing this.
So I tried to come as soon as possible. If she stays with Ruid, she can do it with a simple nod, since her younger brother, Ruid, takes precedence over him.
But she couldn’t show it. If she told me not to salute, it would mean ‘you are not yet a knight’.
It is quite rude to refuse to salute. Hersy reflected on himself that he had just thought of that.
“By the way, what were you two doing?”
Hersy asked out of pure curiosity.
“Oh, I was playing with her brother for a while.”
Amelia Windsor. In fact, she was at the peak of parenting.
“Playing house… Are they the same?”
“Yes. Louis is still young. It’s hard these days because the demands have diversified, but what can I do? She is her one and only sister.”
Amelia touched Louis’ hair with her proud face.
‘Really.’
Louis didn’t like being treated like a kid. But she agreed to put up with Amelia, as she had granted all of her own demands.
“Aha.”
Hersy’s curiosity was resolved. She looked at Louis and her eyes twinkled.
‘She always played this way when she was at Windsor Street.’
She learned one more thing about Louis. When Louis is bored, she plays house with Amelia. Memo.
“That’s right, Ame noona.”
Ruid was imitating the anime she had seen in her previous life, and she asked what she had forgotten.
“What did you ask for last time? Did you recognize it?”
Investigations were the realm of articles.
And the academy values practice.
That’s why most of the cases that happened at the academy are handled by the swordsmanship department. Amelia was the head of the Investigation Department.
Ruid asked Amelia to let her know how Catherine’s verdict came out.
“… Originally, it was confidential.”
She is Amelia who follows the rules like a knife, but she has a soft side to Louis. She let out a small sigh and said it couldn’t be helped.
“The disciplinary committee is open today. The outcome is fixed.”
“Is it fixed?”
“Yes. The principal intervened. I guess we just did a simple investigation.”
Ruid thought of President Clifford. She was a very friendly character to the group of protagonists.
“How did it go?”
“Expulsion. Probably, this decision cannot be overturned. You are very strong.”
Louis opened her eyes wide. Hersy’s reaction was what she expected. She had no information about the Chancellor, but she knew what it meant to touch Windsor Street.
“… Expulsion?”
“You dared to touch my sister, of course. Even if it wasn’t for the president’s decision, I would have intervened.”
Amelia’s eyes went cold.
“If it had been the swordsmanship club, she would have crippled her arms again.”
She’s usually a nice girl, but she couldn’t tolerate touching Louis.
‘What should I do?’
Ruid was in trouble.
Of course, she’s like herself, but she wants to agree with that decision.
Catherine was not the main heroine for nothing.
That nasty temper comes into its own when Justin is in trouble.
Most of the nobles are reluctant to deal with Catherine’s truth, saying, ‘Whoa, what’s with that??’.
It is a reliable partner for Justin, who is a big penalty for being a commoner. If not, he’ll suffer quite a bit.
Above all, Catherine was a character with a lot of rice cakes. Her main character grows up eating the beans.
It was when Ruid was contemplating what to do next.
“I feel a suspicious presence.”
Amelia muttered and hid her louis behind her own. She poised her feet as if she were going to draw her sword at any moment.
“Who are you!”
Cried Amelia sharply.
Ruid was puzzled. She didn’t feel anything. However, she was soon convinced.
It was Justin who came out of the woods. He was so insignificant that he couldn’t read mana.
However, his face was serious. He was all over the place, and his skin was blue.
He stumbled and he fell to the floor soon after. It is a mana poisoning phenomenon. Louis sighed and cast her spell.
Air bubbles soaked Justin. Justin sighed as if he had just emerged from the sea.
Louis moved his arm. A bubble of air came right in front of me. Clenching his fist, the bell burst and Justin collapsed.
Ruid looked down at Justin. I was thinking of going there, but I didn’t know it would come in such a reckless way.
“If you were even 5 minutes late, you would be dead.”
“…… Please.”
The magic Louis de casted on her was not a recovery magic. She didn’t have the will to walk that far. Justin, whose inner mana was a mess, said with heavy breathing.
“Catherine, help me.”
“Looks like you have no shame, commoners.”
Hersy said coldly. She was very offended when she heard a name she never wanted to hear again.
“Why does Ruid have to help you?”
“Go back. I have no help to give you. Also, solicitation is a clear violation of discipline.”
Amelia also helped. Justin looked at Amelia and her eyes twinkled. Amelia’s name was famous even among commoners.
Ruid’s older sister, and the only investigator who judges commoners and nobles fairly.
When Justin’s expression turned to despair, Ruid stepped forward. She is thinking, ‘What kind of rice cake is this?’.
“Ame-noona and Hercy are not together.”
“Four.”
Hersy immediately became a gentle sheep.
Amelia seemed a bit dissatisfied, but she had no intention of stopping Louis from trying to fix things on his own.
“I don’t know why I should help you.”
“…… I know you have no intention of helping. But.”
Justin said earnestly.
“Expulsion is too harsh.”
“That child is living a life you can’t imagine. He was always looked down upon and treated like a dirty warlock. It is an environment where strong self-defense is inevitable.”
“It may just end in a bad way for you, but …… This is the end of Catherine’s life. So please. Give that child, her one last chance.”
‘Alpano.’
I’d like to say that in my heart.
‘It’ll be troublesome if Justin doesn’t play his part.’
If the shields that did all the dirty work disappeared, only Ruid would lose. I couldn’t give up the comfortable and enjoyable life of an unemployed man.
‘I can’t help it.’
However, I didn’t want to help for free.
“Okay. I will help you.”
“… !”
Ruid allowed it too easily, and Justin looked at him as if it were real.
“Go… ….”
“But there is a condition.”
Ruid put her hand in her pocket and pulled out her wand. It was a baby cane, so it was very small. She was wearing it because it was convenient to carry in her pocket.
I usually don’t use a staff, but I needed it when I was using complicated magic like now.
Ruid spun her wand.
A complicated magic circle unfolded. It didn’t stop at one, but it became two, three, and finally eight.
It was the magic called ‘Oath of Covenant’. This magic makes it impossible to break a certain oath. The downside is that the range is narrow. It was to the point that if I didn’t tell the exact contents, it wouldn’t have much effect.
Ruid made several detours so that even the caster himself could not wake up. Now, even if the dragon comes, I can’t wake up.
“I swear you will never see me again.”
Ruid didn’t want to get involved with the main character.
