chapter 21
21 – Peaceful Tea Time
Draining Magic.
If you are a wizard, it is a symptom that you must go through.
Depending on the person, it is so common that some people deplete their mana as if they were eating a meal, while others call it the virtue of a wizard.
Symptoms vary widely. Some people fainted altogether, while others lay ill for a month.
What determines the difference is the amount of mana. Less is more recoil, more is less recoil.
A person with a capacity of 10 and a wizard with a capacity of 100 have no choice but to have a big difference in the amount of fundamental magic recovery.
In other words, it’s the same as if Ruid’s breathing for a moment would bring in quite a bit of ordinary magician’s total amount of magic.
However, even Ruid could not escape from the recoil of mana depletion.
‘It’s dizzy… I’m sluggish… Sleepy… I want to sleep soon.’
Ruid narrowed his eyes as he walked.
“Are you sleepy?”
Amelia, who was watching Ruid closely, asked. With her half-closed eyes she looked up at Amelia.
“Ame noona.”
“Huh?”
Ruid rubbed her tired eyes and said.
“I’ve run out of canes. Make a new one.”
“Ah, yes. It’s been a long time this time.”
When Amelia heard that, she looked around and picked up a suitable branch.
Hersy looked at him curiously and pulled out his water bottle. It was water containing mana inhibitors.
“This should do.”
Amelia slightly drew her sword and trimmed her branch. She gazed at it, raising it towards the sunlight, then cut off about a third of it.
Then he started grinding her hair into a circle.
Tick-.
I put the sword in and handed over the branch.
“Complete.”
“Thank you.”
“Cool.”
Hersy was caught in the case of drinking water.
“That, that…… Are you using it as is?”
Ruid nodded her head and put the wand in her arms.
Hersy was so dumbfounded that his words didn’t come out properly.
A wand is an indispensable and essential thing for a wizard.
Wands usually had essential functions for wizards, such as a function that drastically reduces magic consumption and a function that carefully designed magic.
Of course, such things do not happen for nothing. No matter how trees in Delrin’s forest were, they were meaningless unless they were processed.
However, the opponent was Ruid.
“… Can I use that?”
“My sister is good at knives, so it’s okay.”
“Good thing… It seems like it.”
‘What does that have to do with it?’
Hersy was confused.
Amelia kindly explained.
“The name of my sword is Khalifa. A sword made with the power of the stars. It is sacred in itself, and it is said that just touching it gives you a special magical energy. They say that the match is good, so I’m making Ruid’s magic wand.”
Amelia quietly boasted.
‘That sounds good.’
Actually, I just liked Amelia’s woodcutting skills.
When Amelia cuts the wood, it feels nice to touch.
In the first place, Ruid only used his wand when careful distribution of mana was needed, and he didn’t use it to amplify his mana like other mages, so anything was fine.
“As expected… The Holy Sword is different.”
Gulp, Hersy swallowed.
He’s thinking of asking himself a favor later, when he gets closer.
“Oh, that’s right.”
Hersy remembered something she had briefly forgotten.
“You know when Ruid disappeared for a while, then Lady Ryan came and picked one of Adrane’s flowers. That’s okay…… “
Hersy couldn’t finish his sentence.
It was because Ruid, who had been walking dozed off, had collapsed.
Before hitting the floor, Amelia received it.
“It’s strange. I usually don’t sleep while walking.”
Amelia tilted her head and hugged her. Louis was sound asleep.
Her brother’s body was small. Amelia, who was called the Swordswoman, had the power to separate her criminals from her ark, but even considering that, she was very lighthearted.
Hersy is ‘cute. I want to touch you.’ She repeated it 50 times in her mind as she looked at Louis in Amelia’s arms.
“So, could you please tell me?”
Unlike when she was with Louis, Amelia’s tone was aloof.
“Can I tell you something?”
The quick-witted Hersey replied with a soft smile. Amelia brought up her subject with her nod in her eyes.
“Recently, Ruid seems worried. It’s the first time I’ve seen this kid worry like that. Do you know what it is?”
‘I have to answer well here.’
She didn’t have to be Louis, but if she was Amelia, there was nothing wrong with being friendly.
But as Louis De’s friend she hangs out with the most now, she should be recognized for that qualification.
“I’m not sure, but I think it’s very likely something that happened in practice a few days ago.”
“Does she say that the academy was excessively rude?”
Hersy shook her head at Amelia’s sharp words.
“No. At that time, Ruid mentioned that it didn’t matter. It’s not her style to hide her opinions, so she must be sincere.”
“Then?”
‘What if or not? Maybe I’m talking presumptuously.’
Hercy pondered for a moment, but the possibility of that was very small, so he said confidently.
“Do you remember a commoner named Justin?”
“Yes. I know Lady Hercy as someone who used wonderful magic.”
“When he challenged Amelia-sama for sparring, her Louis de expression was visibly hardened.”
When everyone’s attention was focused on Amelia and Justin, only Hersy was looking at Ruid. At that time, he was contemplating on what words to open the hwadu.
“The ideal of Ruid started happening from then on. I don’t know the exact cause…….”
It was for that reason that Hercy stepped out on her own. Of course, one of the reasons is that he pointed at Amelia, who dared not do it himself.
“Maybe it’s because I didn’t like asking Amelia-sama for sparring despite being a commoner?”
Hersy made a guess based on her own experience.
It was because Louis was the one who got along with Louis better than anyone else he had ever met.
“Okay. My younger brother respects his own formality, but does not care about the formality of others. Even at her house, no matter what mistakes her lady-in-waiting makes, she tends not to get angry.”
‘…… She never took her anger out on the lady-in-waiting?’
Hersy didn’t bother grabbing the lower ones either, but she tended to have no mercy for mistakes. She thought that Louis was very kind.
“However, it seems that Lady Hercy is right. There’s no doubt that he has a cause. Justin. I will remember your name.”
“No. Amelia-sama is too weak to step forward. Please, leave this task to me.”
Amelia patted Hercy’s head at first. Hersey’s eyes widened.
“I just want to remember the name. There’s no need for Lady Hercy to care. Hmm…… “
Amelia smiled her eyes.
“It’s fortunate that a wise person like Lady Hercy is by Ruid’s side. I hope to see you more often in the future. May I call you Hersy?”
When the noble asked if he could call me by name, it meant that we would be friends from now on.
‘Isn’t this a dream?’
Hersy hurriedly nodded his head.
“Yes, yes! Of course, Miss Amelia.”
**
Ruid was drooling and sleeping soundly.
I tossed and turned to see if the bed was uncomfortable.
‘This place is not good.’
It seems like sleeping anywhere in Delrin’s lake, but in fact, Ruid’s bedtime philosophy was strict.
First of all, it should be flat. And the slope to the head had to be higher than to his feet.
The place where Ruid was lying now was not too sloped. In this case, it is best to roll over and search.
Ruid started rolling to the right. And soon-
Kung.
“… ….”
It fell to the floor.
Louis stood up grabbing his throbbing head.
“It’s a house.”
It was not a lake with a soft blue light, but a room with an antique design.
“When will I go home… Oh, my sister must have moved.”
Ruid, muttering, got up and went outside. She touched the heart part. Mana was about half full.
They say that it takes 4-5 days for an ordinary wizard to recover his magic, but he doesn’t seem to need that much. It seemed like it would be completely restored by tomorrow.
Upon entering the central hall, a maid with a familiar face bowed her head.
“Good morning, no. Welcome, Bocchan.”
The maid bowed her head with a soft smile. She was Sherry, Louis de’s exclusive handmaid. She was holding a broom as if she was cleaning.
Of course, cleaning can be done with a single gesture, but she vehemently refused, saying Sherry had nothing to do in the system.
“Who is your sister?”
“I am having a conversation with Lady Hercy, a guest.”
“… Hersy? Has Hercy come too?”
“Yes. It turned out that he was the owner of the mansion across the street.”
‘What an amazing coincidence.’
She never thought that she would be living in front of the house, Louis de.
But Louis didn’t know that half of her island villas belonged to the Minerva family.
Ruid headed towards her.
“Me, young boy?”
“Huh?”
“Are you going to the lady?”
“By the way.”
Sherry said with her kind smile.
“I wouldn’t know if it was normal, but wouldn’t it be very rude to wear pajamas when there are customers?”
“It’s okay because we’re close.”
“Isn’t that rude?”
“… ….”
“Excuse me.”
Sherry was still smiling.
Louise stared at Sherry, and she faded.
It was invisible magic.
Sherry’s laughter gradually faded.
“Bocchan.”
And she moved, almost teleporting, reaching her hand under her railing.
“Excuse me.”
Sherry grabbed Ruid by the back of his neck and lifted him up.
Then, wrapped around her side, he disappeared into her room.
**
‘It’s embarrassing no matter how many times I’ve been beaten.’
After Sherry had changed her clothes, Louis felt the wrist part of her shirt was stuffy and took it off.
Others. And no matter how many times he tried it, he couldn’t get used to having his clothes changed by a woman’s hand.
She went into the banquet hall with Sherry. Hersy, who was talking with Amelia, got up right away.
“Are you awake?”
“How long have I slept?”
Amelia pondered for a moment before speaking.
“Um…… 17 Hours?”
“I didn’t sleep much. Hello Hersey. Is the academy over?”
Ruid jumped into a high chair and sat down. Hersi also sat down and nodded her head.
“Yes. Thankfully, Amelia-sama invited me, so I just came.”
Hersy smiled and took out something.
“It is a gift for visiting. Tea leaves imported from the Cayman Territory. It has a very deep flavor and is a good tea to enjoy in the morning.”
“Thank you, Hercy. I will eat well.”
Amelia received the tea leaves.
‘Looks like the two of you got along a bit.’
I noticed that the word Young lady was omitted.
Beside her, Amelia cleared her throat.
“Hey, Sherry. Bring the car.”
Sherry, who was guarding the door, came over and took the tea leaves. She went straight to pick up her tea.
“By the way, it is surprising that there is only one lady-in-waiting in such a large mansion.”
Hersy looked around and said. “It must be difficult to manage.”
“There is one more butler to be exact. However, he is busy with outside work, so he doesn’t come to the mansion often. Sherry does everything related to the mansion.”
“… One lady-in-waiting to cover this large mansion? Is that possible?”
Hersy opened his eyes like that.
Amelia said, preserving her dignity.
“Sherry is a competent maid.”
Hersey must have meant that there was only one lady-in-waiting in this large mansion.
Amelia deliberately diverted her words.
Ruid looked at Amelia with salty eyes.
‘Looks like you don’t want to be caught. Well, it’ll hurt my pride a lot.’
Ruid decided to keep Amelia’s secret.
After a while, Sherry appeared with a teacup. She politely dropped the car off at Hercy and Louis.
The corners of Amelia’s mouth quivered.
“Sherry.”
“Yes.”
“Mine is… ?”
Amelia’s eyes were desperate.
However, Sherry was short-tempered.
“You have to take care of yourself, young lady.”
Hersy’s eyes widened as she enjoyed the aroma of the tea.
As expected, Louis casually drank her tea.
“… ….”
Amelia bit her lip and glared at Sherry.
“A day like this… Won’t you tune in a bit? We have guests for the first time.”
“I have no obligation to do so. I was only ordered to assist the young master.”
It was the Windsor house rule.
The moment you leave the northern mansion, the successor test begins.
All you get is 20 gold and an accompanying examiner.
Test how she gets through the harsh situation by scoring points.
Of course, none of this applies to Ruid.
“You know how grateful I am to even stay at this mansion.”
“… !”
Amelia was able to stay in her mansion as Louis de’s guardian.
It was a special order from the Duke of Windsor to protect Ruid under any circumstances.
In other words, it is definitely the status of an ‘escort knight’.
But I don’t know about other times, but to treat you like this in front of customers.
Amelia said, biting her molars.
“You, what are you really going to do when you go back to the North?”
“That was then, and now is now. If I really need to have tea with you, please win with your skills.”
“… I asked if she was a lady-in-waiting or not, Louise.”
Amelia laughed terribly and untied her hands.
He rolled up her arms and walked over to her sherry. Sherry took her fighting stance as if she was used to it. A brawl soon ensued.
Hersy couldn’t grasp the situation, so he put on a dazed expression.
Bang, bang!
The sound of the two fists colliding was vividly audible.
The pillar swayed and the powder fell.
Ruid said softly.
“It is peaceful.”
“We, going to Windsor, is this normal life… ?”
“Extremely normal.”
Ruid thought as he sipped her tea leisurely.
‘The taste really has depth. It’s a nice car.’
After all, peace is the best.
