Being A Law God In Marvel!

Chapter 30: The Giant Cannon Explodes!!

"What about us?" Logan asked.

"Do you think I can get some wings to fly too?" Victor said enviously as he watched Diana's wings unfold.

"Don't even think about it. This is a critical moment, and you have no experience flying. What if you get caught? After we deal with Ares, I'll let you fly all you want," Ryuji replied firmly.

"Alright then. Deal," Victor said, smirking.

Ryuji nodded, then glanced at Diana. "I'm going."

"Don't disappoint me," Diana said suddenly, her tone carrying an unspoken implication.

It was clear what she meant—was she afraid Ryuji would take this opportunity to kill Steve? Heh. Ryuji chuckled inwardly. Why would someone like him destroy everything for the sake of a washed-up soldier? Without another word, Ryuji spread his wings and soared into the night sky. His speed and the growing darkness rendered him invisible to the guards below.

Diana followed, disappearing into the shadows of the sky.

"I'm so jealous," Victor muttered, crossing his arms.

"Don't waste time being jealous. Get to the chief," Logan said.

"Yeah, yeah," Victor replied before heading off.

Ryuji first flew high above the castle, surveying the layout, before landing silently on the rooftop. Oddly enough, there were no guards stationed there. It seemed the enemy had let their guard down.

Without wasting any time, Ryuji cast a silent spell over the massive cannon: "Trigger the cannon, and it will self-destruct."

Satisfied with his handiwork, Ryuji glanced around and spotted Samir standing near the vehicles outside the castle. As a driver and servant, it made sense he hadn't joined the party. Ryuji muttered another spell, sending a glowing word towards Samir: "Leave."

Samir noticed the word flash before him and froze. Although confused, he trusted the message. Finding an excuse to step away, he quickly left the area.

Ryuji then descended into the castle. His face and attire wouldn't blend well, so he opted to conceal himself in the shadows of the ceilings and corners. As he moved undetected, he finally spotted Steve chatting with Doctor Maru.

Ryuji felt disgust rise within him. In the original story, Steve's willingness to charm Maru had left a bad taste in his mouth. And now, witnessing it firsthand made him cringe even more.

He cast another spell: "Any sound I make will only be heard by Steve Trevor in this room."

"Steve, listen to me. Get out now. This place is about to explode!" Ryuji's voice echoed directly into Steve's ears.

Steve blinked, startled. His first thought was: Damn it, is Ryuji trying to mess with me again?

But he quickly realized no one else around him reacted to the voice.

"Did you hear that?" Steve asked Doctor Maru.

"Hear what?" she replied, confused.

"Steve, you idiot! Get out now, or you're going to die!" Ryuji's voice rang out again, more urgent this time.

Steve's gaze darted around until he noticed a faint shadow in the corner. Realizing it was Ryuji, he quickly excused himself, leaving Doctor Maru confused.

Once outside, Steve found the group waiting. "What the hell was that about?" he demanded.

"You're welcome, by the way," Ryuji said with a smirk. "What were you doing in there? Trying to charm Doctor Maru? Tsk, tsk. Steve, I never pegged you as the type to go for someone like her."

Logan and Victor burst out laughing, while Samir couldn't resist teasing. "Man, seriously? Doctor Poison? That's your type?"

Steve felt his face heat up. "It was a plan!" he protested. "Just a plan! I wasn't actually—"

Before he could finish, a deafening explosion shook the ground.

The massive cannon atop the castle erupted, spewing a thick cloud of yellow gas. In seconds, the entire castle was shrouded in toxic fumes.

"Is that... poison gas?!" Steve exclaimed, horrified.

The gas, deadly and suffocating, spread rapidly. Victor's eyes widened as he realized the wind was carrying it in their direction.

"Run!" Logan shouted.

Without hesitation, Ryuji extended his wings, grabbing Steve and Samir before launching into the air. "You guys can handle this, right?" he called down to Logan and Victor, who merely waved him off.

The two mutants, immune to toxins due to their healing factors, trudged through the gas without issue. Meanwhile, Doutzen Carlos sprinted toward the horses, cursing Ryuji for not helping her.

Steve, still in Ryuji's grasp, looked back at the castle. "Everyone in there… they're all dead," he said quietly.

"Yeah, and you would've been too if I hadn't warned you," Ryuji replied bluntly.

Minutes later, the group regrouped safely away from the gas cloud. Logan and Victor strolled out of the mist unharmed, drawing shocked stares from the others.

"What the hell are you two made of?" Samir asked, dumbfounded.

Just then, Diana descended from the sky, her expression determined. "I found the base."
