---
Sakura couldn't remember the last time she'd felt this exhausted. Her mind was a storm of emotions, each thought pulling her in a different direction, each feeling amplifying the weight in her chest. She hadn't slept much, her thoughts too loud, too overwhelming. The space in her apartment felt suffocating, the quiet only broken by the rush of her thoughts.
She had spent the night turning over everything in her mind—Naruto's unwavering support, his love, his patience. The way he always put her first, how he was the rock she could rely on, even when the world around her seemed to crumble. And then Sasuke, with his enigmatic presence, his raw intensity, and the undeniable pull she felt toward him.
Sakura had always known her feelings for Sasuke were different. There was something about him that stirred a deep, almost dangerous desire inside her. With him, there was always a sense of urgency, a fire that neither of them could ignore. He made her feel things she wasn't ready to confront, but at the same time, she couldn't turn away from him.
Her gaze wandered to the window, where the first rays of the morning sun broke through the clouds. It was time to make a choice. She couldn't keep living like this, caught between two people who meant so much to her. The decision loomed over her, heavy and inescapable.
The doorbell rang, and Sakura's heart skipped a beat. She knew who it was. She had expected them both to come, to seek her out, to demand an answer. But she wasn't ready. She wasn't sure if she'd ever be ready.
Taking a deep breath, she opened the door, finding Naruto standing there, his expression soft, but his eyes filled with concern.
"Sakura, are you okay?" he asked, his voice gentle, as if he could sense the weight on her heart.
Sakura nodded, though she didn't feel okay. She felt more torn than ever. "I've been thinking, Naruto," she began, her voice shaky. "I can't keep pretending that I don't feel anything for Sasuke. And I can't keep pretending that I don't care about you. But I... I don't know how to choose."
Naruto stepped inside, closing the door behind him. He didn't say anything at first, just walked toward her slowly, his presence warm and comforting.
"You don't have to decide right now, Sakura," he said softly, his hand gently brushing against hers. "I know you're confused. But whatever you decide, I'll support you. I'll always be here for you."
His words, his sincerity, made her heart ache. She wanted to believe him, wanted to fall into his arms and tell him that everything would be okay. But deep down, she knew it wasn't that simple. The pull she felt toward Sasuke couldn't be ignored, no matter how hard she tried.
"I don't want to hurt you," she whispered, her voice trembling. "I don't want to make the wrong choice."
Naruto smiled gently, but there was a sadness in his eyes. "Sakura, you're not going to hurt me. You just need to follow your heart. I want you to be happy, even if it's not with me."
Sakura felt a lump form in her throat as she looked at him. He was willing to step aside for her, to give her the space to figure things out, but it wasn't fair to him. He deserved more than her indecision. He deserved someone who could love him fully, without hesitation.
Before she could respond, the door opened again, and Sasuke stepped inside, his presence as commanding as ever. His eyes immediately locked onto Sakura, a quiet intensity in his gaze. He didn't speak at first, but the tension in the room was palpable.
Naruto turned to face him, his expression guarded but not hostile. "Sasuke," he said, his voice calm. "We were just talking."
Sasuke's gaze flicked between them, and for a moment, Sakura thought she saw something akin to frustration in his eyes. But it was gone in an instant, replaced by his usual stoic demeanor.
"I need to talk to Sakura," Sasuke said, his voice low but firm.
Naruto nodded, his face softening. "I'll leave you two alone," he said quietly, before giving Sakura one last look. "Just... remember what I said. I'm here when you're ready."
Sakura watched as Naruto left, the door closing behind him with a quiet click. She felt a pang of guilt, but she knew she had to face this, face the choice she had been avoiding for so long.
Sasuke didn't sit down. He stood across from her, his gaze never leaving hers. The silence between them was thick, charged with emotions that neither of them could fully express.
"Sakura," Sasuke said, his voice a bit softer than usual, though still carrying that intensity. "You can't keep running from this. You know what you want. You just have to admit it to yourself."
Sakura looked at him, her heart pounding. "I don't know what I want, Sasuke. I don't know how to choose."
He stepped closer, his eyes searching hers. "You don't have to know everything right now. But you need to stop holding back. Stop pretending like you don't feel something for me."
Sakura felt her breath catch in her throat. The words hung in the air between them, heavy and undeniable. She had always been afraid of the things Sasuke made her feel, but in that moment, she realized something. The fear, the confusion, the indecision—it was all a way of protecting herself. But now, standing before him, she couldn't hide from the truth any longer.
"I'm scared," she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper. "I'm scared of choosing the wrong person. I don't want to lose either of you."
Sasuke reached out, his hand brushing against her cheek in a gesture that was almost tender, though it still carried that unmistakable heat. "You can't lose me, Sakura. Not if you choose me. I'll be here. But you have to decide. You can't keep living in limbo."
The weight of his words settled heavily on her heart. She knew he was right. She couldn't keep avoiding the inevitable. The decision had to be made, and the time to make it was now.
Sakura took a deep breath, her hands trembling as she faced the reality of her emotions. She had to follow her heart, even if it meant facing the consequences. But in that moment, with Sasuke standing before her, she realized something else. She wasn't just torn between two people—she was torn between two versions of herself.
"I'll decide," she said quietly, her voice steady despite the turmoil inside her. "I'll choose. But I need to think about it. I need time."
Sasuke didn't say anything at first, but the look in his eyes told her that he understood. He didn't press her, didn't demand an immediate answer. Instead, he gave her a small nod, his hand lingering on her cheek for just a moment longer before he stepped back.
"Take your time, Sakura," he said quietly, his voice softer now. "But don't take too long."
