---

The sun had barely risen when Sakura found herself standing at the village's edge once again. The quiet of the morning was only interrupted by the soft rustling of leaves and the distant sound of birds greeting the new day. The cool breeze kissed her skin, but it did little to ease the storm raging inside her.

Today was the day.

She had thought about it all night, weighed her feelings, considered the consequences of her actions, but nothing had brought her closer to an answer. She still loved both Naruto and Sasuke, but in different ways. Her heart ached at the thought of losing either one of them, but she couldn't keep living in this indecision. It wasn't fair to them, and it wasn't fair to her.

She had to choose.

Sakura had known, deep down, that this moment would come. The moment when she would have to face the truth, the moment when she would have to accept the reality of her feelings and make a decision that would change everything. But even now, standing at the edge of the village, she wasn't sure she was ready.

The faint sound of footsteps broke her reverie, and Sakura turned to see Naruto walking toward her, his face set in a quiet determination. His expression softened when he saw her, but there was an undeniable sadness in his eyes. He had been waiting for this moment, just as much as she had, and she could see that he was prepared for whatever came next.

"You're here," he said softly, his voice carrying the weight of the unspoken words between them.

Sakura nodded, swallowing the lump in her throat. "I have to talk to you, Naruto."

He didn't say anything at first, simply stepped closer to her, his presence comforting yet heavy with the knowledge of what this conversation meant.

"I'm ready," she said finally, her voice trembling. "I've thought about it all night, and I can't keep going back and forth. I have to make a decision, and I have to face the truth about what I feel."

Naruto nodded, his expression serious. "I've known for a while that this wasn't going to be easy for you. But you don't have to rush. I'll be here, Sakura, no matter what you decide."

Sakura's heart twisted in her chest at his words. He had always been the one who was patient with her, the one who had never forced her to make a choice, the one who had given her the space she needed. But now, the weight of that patience felt like a burden. She couldn't keep living in the space between them.

"I don't want to hurt you," she said, her voice breaking. "But I know that I can't keep going on like this. I've been lying to myself, trying to convince myself that I can have both of you in my life. But I can't. I have to choose."

Naruto took a deep breath, his eyes never leaving hers. "Sakura, you don't have to choose me just because you think it's what's expected of you. You need to choose what makes you happy, what feels right for you."

The sincerity in his voice made her chest ache. Naruto had always been selfless, always willing to put others before himself. He had given her the space to find her own way, and now, he was asking her to choose what was best for her, not for him.

"I don't know if I can choose," Sakura admitted, tears beginning to well in her eyes. "I love you, Naruto. I always have. But... there's something about Sasuke. I don't know what it is, but he makes me feel like I'm standing on the edge of something... something I can't ignore."

Naruto's gaze darkened slightly, but he didn't interrupt her. He simply listened, as he always did.

"I don't want to hurt you," she repeated, her voice barely above a whisper. "But I need to follow my heart, even if it leads me somewhere I don't fully understand."

Naruto's hand reached out to gently touch her cheek, his thumb brushing away a stray tear. "I understand, Sakura," he said softly. "I've always understood. And no matter what happens, I'll always be here for you. You don't have to choose me out of obligation. You need to choose what feels right."

Sakura closed her eyes at his words, feeling the warmth of his hand on her face. It was everything she had ever wanted, and yet, it made her heart ache in a way she hadn't expected.

"I've made my decision," she said, her voice barely audible.

Naruto's eyes searched hers, waiting for her to say the words that would define their future. But before she could speak, a sudden noise interrupted the moment—a sharp crackle in the air, followed by the sound of footsteps approaching from behind.

Sakura turned to see Sasuke walking toward them, his usual calm demeanor betraying the tension in his posture. His eyes were locked onto her, his expression unreadable.

"I see you're ready to make your choice," Sasuke said, his voice low but clear. There was a hint of something in his tone, something that hinted at a deeper understanding of what was happening.

Sakura's heart skipped a beat at the sight of him. Even now, standing between Naruto and Sasuke, she couldn't deny the pull she felt toward both of them. But now, there was no more time for indecision. The moment had come.

She turned back to Naruto, her gaze soft but filled with finality. "I've chosen."

Naruto looked at her, his eyes filled with a mixture of understanding and pain. He didn't say anything at first, but his gaze spoke volumes. He had known this was coming, but hearing her say it aloud was still a punch to the gut.

Sakura took a deep breath and looked back at Sasuke, her heart racing. "I choose you, Sasuke."

The words felt heavy on her tongue, like they were finally freeing her from the weight she had been carrying. She didn't know what the future would hold, but in that moment, she knew that this was the right choice for her.

Sasuke's gaze softened, just slightly, as he took a step toward her. "Are you sure?" he asked, his voice quiet, but there was an intensity in his eyes that made her heart race.

Sakura nodded, her resolve firm. "I'm sure."

Naruto's expression was unreadable, but he gave a small nod, his lips pressed into a thin line. "Then I'll respect your choice," he said, his voice low but steady. "But know this, Sakura. I'll always care about you."

With that, Naruto turned and walked away, leaving Sakura and Sasuke standing together, the weight of the moment settling over them both.
