Beyond the Bloodline

Chapter 17- Past Brazenness

“Moving up the realm, Transcendents gain the ability to comprehend these laws and understand their inner workings. The quality and quantity of the law energy they can control increases exponentially, and with the added bonus of their other energies (Magic, aura, etc.) being affected and increasing in quality.”

Jamie answered before winding down the car window and purchasing a bag of potato chips from one of the people hawking on the street…using the twins’ money, of course.

“So ones, Magic, Aura, Prana, Ether, Aether, Divinity, Enigma, Celestial energy, Demonic power/energy, Holy power/energy, Nature energy, Life energy, Death energy and whatever weird forms of energy that their energy cores can generate all see a substantial increase in quality.

And I’m sure you know what the benefits of higher-quality energy are, right?”

Pointing towards the male twin who was silently sipping his water bottle, Jamie continued.

“David, Explain!”

The teenager only chuckled lightly as he felt Jamie was acting like one of his teachers from High School, but still answered the question nonetheless.

“An individual possessing higher quality energy exhibits augmented Attack Potency, heightened celerity in the manipulation of energy, and an elevated efficacy in all endeavours imbued with it, culminating in a markedly superior performance in all energy-based pursuits.”

Davina gave her brother a confused gaze, wondering why on Estea he making his answer seem all sophisticated, only for Jamie to redirect the question to her in the next second.

“Correct, but too much big words. Dumb it down, Davina.”

“Huh? Oh, basically if I have a higher energy quality in a 3:1 ratio, I can use 10 units of energy to achieve what you would with 30 units.”

“A bit too dumbed down, but that’s more than enough for the driver to understand.”

Having been suddenly called out, the driver who had been listening to their conversation flinched lightly but Jamie ignored it and continued talking to the twins.

“You sound like one of our Professors.”

“I was about to say the same thing.”

The twins likened him to one of their College lecturers, but they most certainly did not expect what Jamie said in response.

“Of course, I sound like one. I was one in the past.”

“Wait, for real?”

“Yeah. Was around the 5100s then, during the 48th General Calendar. I was a professor of Literature and Arts then.”

They were a bit surprised about the field of study he had chosen, but the Hybrid only shrugged and revealed another bit of information that left them dumbfounded.

“I think I was wanted by the Elves then? I beat up one of their Kings and they were after me so to mess with them even more, I went over to Silvanthor and became a professor in Elmarendia’s Institute of Arts and Culture.

Took them nearly two centuries to realise I was right under their noses the whole time.”

“…”

“…”

The twins were lost for words upon hearing his statement, not knowing to be surprised about how brazen Jamie was or how tenacious the elves were, to keep searching for him even after two centuries.

Then again, the existence that Jamie beat up was a being above transcendence who saw time a bit differently, so 200 years might not be much to them.

As for the driver, the poor man was scared shitless at the kind of entity he had been assigned to carry on this fateful day.

‘48th Calendar? That’s over 20,000 years ago!! What race is this dude from to still be alive till now?!’

“Not sure if my certificates are still valid though.”

Seeing the Hybrid pull out a bunch of papers with the Elmarendia Empire’s seal on them from a small black gap that materialized beside him, David snapped out of his dumbfounded state, remembering the original subject of their conversation.

“We were talking about Subspaces originally, weren’t we?”

“And it turned into an Info Dump.”

The twins sighed softly as they spoke while Jamie chucked the files back into his subspace before concluding the discussion.

“Anyway, a Subspace Creation is basically one using the law of space’s power to create, shape and manipulate a dimensional space existing as part of the normal 3rd-dimensional space.

More specifically, it can be a pocket dimension created by the user, which is loosely connected to the normal world.”

‘Though mine is actually a Dimensional Realm with its own complete environment/world where I have absolute control over its aspects.’

He kept that little bit to himself as he looked out the window, just in time to see their destination come into view.

It was a massive group of Skyscrapers that formed the largest plaza in Swuyle and one of the largest plazas in the entirety of the Ubra region.

There were all sorts of businesses here, from normal shops and supermarkets to Starred Restaurants, Commercial Companies, barely legal corporations and outright illegal businesses.

Though the last group were all hidden and had fronts which they used to present themselves to the general public.

The people whom Wanette had researched could handle the dragon materials without drawing too much attention were also within this plaza.

But before they went there, Jamie decided to have an early lunch in one of the plaza’s dozens of Restaurants.

Seeing as Jamie ordered a bunch of random dwarven cuisine, David just sighed and shook his head lightly.

“I’ve never really had a problem with my race before, but you’re beginning to make me start having some.”

“Huh? Why?”

“For starters, seeing you eat various types of food without any problems is making me envious for some reason.”

“Well, too bad you’re stuck with Blood and Water then. Can’t relate.”

Jamie spoke with shrugged shoulders, before picking up his cutlery and digging into his meal with gusto.

‘He does not have the same power as the higher-ups currently, but the whole talk about his resistance to our weaknesses is true.’

David thought to himself as he remembered how the dragon had stabbed Jamie with a silver spear but the Hybrid only broke it with ease, like it was a piece of wood.

He also noted that even though Jamie could drink blood to absorb magic energy from it as other vampires did, he didn’t have any problems eating normal food either.

Even now, he was absorbing the energy in the food he was eating; it had been made with spiritual plant leaves and monster meat.

While he was eating, Jamie’s ears caught the sound of the news coming from the nearby TV, talking about an incident that occurred in one of the Countries of the Human Continent.

“The Supremacists are at it again…”

David muttered to himself as he also heard and saw the news update, prompting Davina to turn towards the Tv and meet with the video of a riot being displayed.

“Supremacists?”

“Mhmm. Given that you went to ‘sleep’ during the 48th, you wouldn’t know about it.

Sometime towards the end of the 49th, prompted by the creation of the Neutral continent, was the creation of the Supremacist Countries.

As each continent is mostly dominated by a race, and there are those who feel their race is superior to others, the Supremacist Countries were created by those guys.

However—”
