Chapter 11: 11. Dumping

(Guys, Here is the Bonus Chapter, this week's goal is 100 Powerstones Whether this fic will continue or not would depend on the support I am getting which is decided by the number of Powerstones this fic receives or the number of Patreon members)

It was dark before he opened his eyes.

"Where am I? Also, what's with the smell?" He said out loud.

"You were found to be dumped in a dumpster, we are in the middle of the city, on top of the Mayor's house," A very familiar voice said to him.

"Oh, No wonder" He grimaced due to the smell and how he was found.

"Let me clean myself," He said while reaching for his grimoire.

"Forgot to say, but your grimoire was also not found with you, it seems that person took it away"

"Yeah, it seems" He blankly said while closing his eyes.

"Do you think he destroyed it?" The other party said with the same tone.

"No, I can feel it, it's nearby, in that direction" He pointed it out.

He got up and started moving towards that direction while the other person followed him.

"Did you see his face?" The tracker asked.

"No, he was covered in a mask, the only thing I know is that they have short stature and they have good mana hiding abilities, I wasn't able to feel an ounce of mana leaking from them while fighting them," He said.

"Oh, tell me about their fighting style," The tracker in purple asked the next question.

"I got knocked out in one hit, so I wasn't able to see anything" He honestly said while feeling embarrassed.

"I see" They arrived at the part where they felt the grimoire.

The man made a grimace.

"So, is it in this dumpster?" The tracker asked, clearly amused

"It seems so" He opened the dumpster lid and luckily for him, his book was on the top, so he quickly took it out.

"So, what will we do now? From my tracking spell, It seems they escaped to the forest"

"I will track that person, it is my responsibility that they got away," He said while his grimoire now was floating.

He cast a water spell which drenched him and then the grimoire cleansed off completely.

"Very well, Anyway, I need to go back to the headquarters, the team leader called me, don't bring shame to Purple Orcas" With that tracker left, leaving the man alone in the alley.

He cast a spell and a water bike could be seen forming.

"Let's see if they can escape again," He said while jumping on the bike and heading towards the forest.

Akeru could be seen sitting near a born fire and chewing on cooked boar meat.

'It really tastes horrible, I already miss the city food, heck, I would have been fine with mana beasts of That zone' He felt homesick despite not having a home in this world.

'Anyway, I should hurry up before some animals come here to ambush me or something' He thought while devouring the food at a rapid rate.

Soon, he got up, extinguished the fire relocated and settled down on top of a tree for the night.

'I don't think anybody would chase me, Like it's ridiculous for somebody to do so much effort to just catch a pick-pocket.

At most, they could just put a wanted poster or something, Luckily I had a mask, still, I was overreacting at that time, I had just stolen some purses, and it would be ridiculous to close both gates to prevent me from escaping' Akeru thought while drifting to sleep.

The next day, he could be seen practising with "the broom" while increasing the distance between this place and that.

Now, that he could fly, the chances of tracking him would be very low without a spell, plus he had ditched everything he had stolen when he had entered the forest, so even that was low.

A few hours passed like that and now he could stand on the broom while flying.

'That really is easy, with my mana control, doing things like that should be easy too' He thought while rolling forward with his head sometimes facing the sky and sometimes the ground.

He refined his control over that while finding some nuances in how to fly.

A few hours later, he found himself near a stream.

'Let's see, this place is kind of peaceful, I have already tried to check if I have affinity among any elemental magic, but it seems, I don't have one' Akeru was really excited about the prospect of his magic when he gets the grimoire, but there is still few years before he could get one.

'Anyway, time to start converting my mana into water' He thought while starting with infusing his mana in the water of the stream.

The difficulty of learning the magic of a different attribute increases by severalfold.

This is one of the reasons that dual attribute magic people are very rare.

However, even if one has double attributes, it doesn't mean they would be stronger.

It's more about Quality than Quantity, especially in magic which takes too long to master to a decent level.

In just an hour, water could be seen floating in the air around Akeru, however the latter wasn't happy but had a frown on his face.

'I wasn't able to infuse my mana into the water, more like I stuck it to water, it's not that different than using mana to control objects, like the branch' Akeru realized that what he did only has uses which are situation-specific, and in battle, it's not really that useful.

A few more hours passed, and Akeru could be seen with no result.

He decided to get some lunch while pondering about how to overcome this obstacle.

With that time passed, and in the blink of an eye, days passed.

'Finally!' Akeru could be seen with a smirk as the water was floating near him, but this time, his mana was infused in the water rather than just sticking to it.

The difference between infuse and just sticking is the attachment of mana at deeper and surface levels respectively.

The next 3 days passed with him gaining more control over mana-infused water.

'Now, I have to find an exact way to convert my mana to water' He thought while going to sleep.

He woke up and ate some fruits in the morning.

He can't just eat meat all the time, it would get boring at one point.

'It didn't say any specific method to convert my mana into water for people with not an affinity with water, No wonder anybody learns this, but I guess I only have this way to grow stronger before I get my grimoire' He thought while looking at the stream.

'Let's-' At this moment, Akeru's instincts were blaring like a bell.

Living in the grand magic zone for 3 years had made him like a beast, especially his instincts.

He naturally trusts his instincts, so he jumps forward and uses mana bursts to walk on water for a few steps before reaching the other side.

He turned around to find pythons made of water rushing at him at blinding speeds.

'That's a spell, a magic knight?' He thought while jumping off the ground and landing on a branch.

"Finally Found You" He heard a familiar voice, however, he didn't turn to look as dual pythons sneaked closer and started climbing on the tree.

He jumped off the branch, but at that point, both the pythons homed at him in the air.

'These fuckers could have directly come at me earlier, but no they had to pretend to climb up the tree, why did I even think that they are real animals and not a fucking spell' Akeru realized that one of his cognitive biases was responsible for this situation.

He, however, didn't panic and used mana burst to reach the branch quickly.

He then quickly swept towards both the snakes with his legs.

His shoe had a blue hue, and surprisingly the snakes exploded, water going in every direction.

This was the special technique Akeru had created in his 3-year training arc, with this technique, mana vibrated at whatever part he chose to such that it had a high penetrating effect, and any part of his body could be used as a sharp blade where he chose to use it.

"Not Bad, last time I was caught off guard, but this time I won't let you go away" The man finally came in view.

Akeru quickly realized that this guy was the one who he had dumped in the dumpster.

'Fuck, I am screwed, fighting a magic knight is suicidal even if they are a beginner, just deflecting that spell took so much effort and I definitely couldn't hold it if this battle elongated, I need to escape' Akeru quickly decided his first priority.

"Don't think of escaping, I can easily catch you" The man said while showing his bike made of water.

'What the fuck, how is that solid in the first place? I don't think humans could reach that level of control, no wonder grimoires are necessary' Akeru despaired at the difference Grimoire makes in combat prowess.
