Chapter 105: Frenzy Star
With the lake freezing over further the serpent could not escape and with the damage of the consumption slowly building up Ezekiel chose to examine it.

"Is this normal for this area?!"
"No it must be from deeper in the abyss, they only come out like this when something big is moving territory..."
He saw that his damage to the boss was minuscule compared to the wolf and the wolf was beginning to take damage from the steam the snake released.
He flew down near the wolf and it snarled at him but he held out a hand to use his life affinity to heal the beast.
"I don't know if you understand but that thing will mess up this region, let me help you kill it."
The wolf snarled but allowed him to remain where he was, the more it got healed the less it snarled and eventually looked out at the steam cloud with an expression of hatred.
"Yeah it attacked you, it attacked you and if not for me you'd be hurt worse right?"
The wolf looked back at him with a look that he couldn't really figure out before it lowered itself to the ground beside him.
He was very confused by this action and eventually the wolf looked back at the steam and then to him, the wolf apparently made a decision and bit the back of his hood to lift him up.
"Whoa! Hey! Let go! I'm trying to help you not hurt you so don't eat me!"
His words were met with no reaction as the wolf lauched him over it's side and onto it's back where he landed with a loud gasp as the air was knocked out of his lungs.
He was on the back of the wolf with his hands clinging to it's thick fur when the wolf charged the steam again.
'Oh it wants me to fight with it...'
He began to use his spells to help the beast by healing its wounds in the steam, his own wounds were healed as well but he could mitigate most of the damage by using his mana barriers.
As he thought of this he had a good idea and began to spread his mana across the wolf to try and give it a barrier as well.
The wolf seemed to notice the lack of damage from the cloud of steam and by using his mana sight Ezekiel pinpointed the serpent that had apparently been trying to surround them.
With a burst of shadow mana Ezekiel alerted the wolf to the danger by coating the serpent in black flames that were more visible through the steam than it's blueish scales.
He had figured out that the serpent was an ambush hunter and by removing the stealth it was less dangerous.
The wolf lept over the tail end of the serpent and it snapped at the back legs of the wolf before hissing in rage and pain.
He would send out frenzy wing projectiles to whittle down the boss while the wolf used it's agility to find an opening and attack.
Ezekiel eventually had an idea and began to form an image of a flaming wolf maw for the wolf which it seemed to be wary of.
He did another construct to make claws of the wolf in an attempt to work together.
He figured that combining their individual strengths would be the best way to beat the serpent bur he eventually realized that his ally was not as intelligent as he hoped.
'It really is just a big wolf with slightly above average intelligence huh?' Stay connected through m-v l|e'm,p| y- r
He simply kept attacking the serpent and while the wolf ran back and forth to avoid the enemy he waited for an opportunity to do more.
While he was attacking the serpent he had a lot of free energy to strategize however and he used it to think of a new spell.
'Something that has power, I need spell that can do an intense and powerful hit. Something that would simply be used and reused unlike my death by a thousand cuts spell.'
As before he turned to the inspiration of his previous spells, a monster that had immense power while still being more dangerous due to the aftereffects of the power it used.
He thought about the way it used the power, the lingering pools of damage, the bombs, the slow death by the scales of its wings that tore victims apart from the inside.
The monster had another move it used often that could work but he didn't think it was the right one in this case.
He then turned to other aspects of the monster, the one he had fought most in the game was technically the juvenile form of a much more dangerous beast.
The stronger form of the beast had greater master over it's power and often used it in ways he actually dreamed of.
Passively creating areas of danger, turning old attacks into new and more dangerous forms, he especially wished to be able to call down dangerous explosions of mana like that beast.
He thought about the way it would float in the air with the power of its elemental effects slowly burning away everything until it collapsed into a single point.
The worst attack to escape by far was when it did what many called the "orbital attack" where beams made of that same power would surround the target and slowly circle in on it until they became one at which point the monster would release the attack it had been charging up.
The attack would fall in the form of a star that would explode in a massive effect that could instantly kill most players in said game.
He thought about the idea of using his mana to pull outside mana in while he channeled the spell, simultaneously he would have a cage of shadowfire rays that slowly circled inward to pin the target in place and distract it while he was channeling his spell.
The mana would be condensed to hold microscopic needles that would all cause individual damage and he would seal it within a shell of volatile mana while using that shell to condense it even smaller.
The process would repeat for as many layers of this explosive effect as he could accomplish but he knew that he would be in danger during it.
As he finalized his imagery of the spell he activated the spell crafter title and the spell was born.

Now that he had the spell he would use it on the serpent as the perfect test dummy.
He lept off of the wolf and began to cast the spell.

Leya was observing the battle with annoyance.
'He has to much pride, not only will he get himself killed but he will get the weaker territory king killed which will mean he has to look for another one.'
She was thinking about how to break the news to the queen when she saw him leap into the sky in a strange pose.
His wings were fully outstretched and his body was in a beautiful pose that reminded her of how the celestials often appeared before people.
She watched his tail sway in the mana that held him aloft and in her mana sense she saw that he was pulling the surrounding mana in like a vacuum.
The mana in the region was converging and she saw a rotating cage of shadowfire beams begin to form around the serpent which the wolf lept out of with a yelp of concern.
The serpent when trying to get out would hiss in pain as it felt itself taking large amounts of damage so it coiled up more and more until its body was safe.
She watched as he rose slightly higher before bringing his hands within inches of eachother to create a mana construct.
This spell had so much mana within that she actually got worried about how close she was and began to back away when he finally let the construct go above the serpent.
The serpent had been writhing and screeching in pain from the beams that had begun to move over it's body and it threw itself out of the range of those beams once they became one point.
That was when she realized that the beams were a distraction.
He had vanished from the point he was over before and was suddenly above the serpent again with that construct falling.
He had waited for just the right moment as well it seemed because the serpent tried to swallow him whole right as it realised who was causing it such pain.
She saw this serpent snap itself into the air to bite at the floating devil as a glowing star fell into it's open maw, then he vanished.
She also saw that the wolf was trying to attack it again and Belial watched with a sad expression on his face as the spell went off.
The serpent had turned to strike the wolf when it suddenly belched black fire and before it could even make a noise it's head was separated from it's body by a giant burst of black from the star it had swallowed.
