Chapter 99: Solo Nightmare
It was time to return to the city, he had trained to the satisfaction of Lucretia and he had gotten permission to go.
Lucretia was there to send him off and had even paid for the transportation gate to allow him to leave.
"Remember, tell kira that she has to pay for your return trip with the funds she was sent out with, she cannot simply stay there and act as an ambassador since she is not skilled in the task."
He gave a short nod and before leaving he gave her a small hug.
"I will return so do not worry ok? I don't want to stay away for a long time anymore after the time I have had to meet you, I want to spend a lot of my time in this game getting to know you."
She smiled and let go.
"Return in triumph my beloved, you will need to be triumphant after all."
He left through the gate and upon seeing the old city he had left a few days ago he was simultaneously thrilled and sad but this did not matter.
He had a task.
He saw the people around looking at him strangely, many whispering his name so he crouched low and lept into the air with his wings beating powerfully to send him skyward.
He saw the city from above and it made him feel strange, he liked this city but he knew nothing about it.
In fact the only reason he liked the city was due to good memories involving his friends.
He saw the dungeon below after some time and dove to it.

The elven assassin had been waiting for the last day and a half for his target, he had left to deal with the event but when he finished his task and saw that the rewards were pretty much worthless he chose to focus on the mage.
He was patient for the multiple days it took but when he finally saw his target return he was surprised by how different they looked.
Not only did they seem to have evolved but they also had more mastery of their flight which he suspected meant the mage had trained.
He began to approach the mage but stopped the moment they entered the dungeon.
'Dammit... fine I will wait by the opening to kill him.'

Inside of the dungeon Ezekiel felt a thrill as he tore through the enemies like tissue paper compared to the previous battles.
He could simply grab a skeleton by the skull and tear it off thanks to his magic making him so much stronger than before.
He remembered that killing skeletons like this was easy for Layla and Thanatos but he adored it.
When he reaches the door he began to put the password in by memory, without the need to guard from the shadow mana and simply blocking the life constructs he was able to put the password in like nothing.
When he saw the room he began to pull all of the mana into one space using his lesser mana manipulation.
With this mana he began to create life mana spell circles that contained the spells of shadow mana spears to attack the boss when she spawned.
Once he had the spell circles make he activated the fight.
The boss appeared and he activated the spell circles instantly.
He launched himself forward with claws outstretched and they collided with the blade of shadow she held.
He was totally unaffected by the shadow mana but the life construct did cut him so he had to be wary there.
His claws met her blade repeatedly to bat it away while his wings pushed it even further to make her aura covered body easier to strike.
He would slash and stab and unleash bursts of his frenzy wing spell until he launched himself backward.
She seemed to try to follow but then noticed the large number of mana balls on her body which started to detonate one after the other in a rapid speed.
He returned to slash her body with a giant blade of mana coating his wing, this blade struck her cracked aura with such precision in the largest area of damage that it shattered in an instant.
"Weak!"
He slashed her bones with his clawed hands leaving trails of black flame on the bones of her body.
He saw that his spells were not as powerful as he liked but stacking damage over time effects would easily make that problem vanish.
He used his wings to guard against her blades and with her shadow mana blades completely useless against him meant she was effectively helpless.
His claws and blades struck her head with each attempt, his attacks were effortlessly destroying her skull while she struggled to harm him with just life mana.
The most shocking part was that he was using the frenzy bomb spell so often that he was killing her summoned troops before they could even attack him, when the giant skeleton appeared he simply dismembered the joints and left it to burn away with frenzy bombs in its ribcage.
He focused all of his attention on the boss and kept her from harming him by easily blocking her blows with his mana covered wings.
With his mana tearing through her body she eventually collapsed to one knee as a leg had been severed by the consumption eating away at her.
She had to teleport away for a moment and it seemed she was drawing her life mana from the undead she had hidden nearby as she created a limb of solid green mana that resembled a bone calve and foot made of emerald green glass.
He watched her do this with a smug expression before he vanished and got his payback for something she did days ago in game.
He appeared behind her and slashed her arm from her body while using his claws to try to sever her spine but she vanished as well after this.
He held her arm in his hand and set it alight with shadowfire.
"I hope this hurts! You tormented me for days with this dungeon you bitch!"
He dashed forward to slash her but he feinted away to let his wing collide with her instead, his wing stabbing into her ribs slammed her against the wall while he stabbed her skull with his blade for critical damage.
By pinning her there he could exploit her weakness to keep striking her until she vanished again to appear by her coffin.
From the coffin a large amount of life mana began to flow out mixing with shadow mana from beneath the coffin which surprised him.
He watched with curiosity before he simply used lesser mana manipulation to make that pocket of mixing mana take a shape he wanted instead.
The skeleton tried to attack him during it but he ignored her to instead turn the shadow mana into needles while the life mana was unable to be turned into much of anything.
By stabbing her with the massive number of needles plus his own frenzy wings spell he had successfully taken half of the mana she tried to use but since he was very bad at manipulating life mana she easily took control again when his focus waned.
When he saw what she was doing though he panicked as he realized she was using the mana to fill the gaps he caused in her skeleton.
He began to counterattack with his lesser mana manipulation to try to pull it away from her while he used frenzy wing to drive her damaged body back and take more damage.
The needles tearing throughout her body were blocked by some of the life mana she used but most of it was still being kept away by him.
'This is crazy, why is she doing this when she didn't do this before!?'
He roared as he unleashed more of his frenzy wing needles from another spell that tore into her thin frame, the place with the most damage was her head as it had the most surface area to strike.
He was trying to keep the mana away from her head so the cracks could not be filled by the green energy but it was not perfect.
Her heath bar was slowly filling with a green bar that he had not seen before but he figured she was trying to heal herself which obviously could not be allowed. Experience tales at m v|l-e,m'p y r
Since he could not keep all of the mana away he simply lunged in to continue destroying her skull while the pair fought over the life mana.
It seemed her attempts at this also took most of her mental power as well since she only blocked while he attacked.
Eventually he succeeded in destroying a chunk of her skull which she obviously tried to reclaim while retaliating.
He blocked her strike and kicked the chunk of skull away while trying to stab the eneegy underneath, she tried to block with her hand but he easily stabbed it with his other hand while she tried to harm him.
The health bar was at 70% and he was enjoying himself.
