Nagisa regained her senses after a short while. The moment she realized she was lying in Mika’s bed, she hurriedly sat up, tidied her clothes, and even made the bed in a surprisingly cute manner.
Clearing throat, cough!
Nagisa approached me while sitting in the desk chair, holding her cellphone.
“…Internet news?”
“I thought there might be something helpful for me, so I was looking into it. It seems I didn’t really keep a diary or anything, so I just briefly skimmed through the photos on my phone, but nothing came to mind.”
“I see.”
As I glanced at Nagisa from the side, she wore a rather complicated expression. I could faintly hear her muttering, “Did I really lose my memory? Searching for news online isn’t at all like Mika…” It was impossible not to overhear given how close we were, but she seemed so dizzy that she couldn’t even think of that.
“Mika, do you really not remember anything? At all?”
“Yeah. Probably because I didn’t even know my own name. So it was only thanks to Nagichan calling me Mika that I managed to find out my name.”
“…Hmm. By the way, my name’s not Nagichan; it’s Kirihouji Nagisa. Your name is Misono Mika. Phew, how did things come to this…”
“Misono Mika… Yeah, I don’t really know much just from the name. But since it was stored here as Nagichan, that must be your nickname, right? So I will keep calling you Nagichan.”
There was no reply from Nagisa, who seemed deep in thought, looking somewhat troubled. I became a little curious about what she was contemplating.
Amidst the silence, I flipped through the article I had been reading. Kaiser Corporation was mentioned, so I thought it might be a worthwhile article, but unfortunately, it was not at all. The current situation in Abydos connected well with the beginning of the main story, providing good information for understanding the context.
While skimming the news, I did learn a few things. Firstly, it seems the Student Council President has not yet gone missing. If such an event had indeed occurred, it would have been expected to find an article discussing the disappearance of the Student Council President or the aftermath of that disappearance. In any case, it was confirmed that the reincarnation occurred before the original story.
I think I might be able to learn the exact timeframe from Nagisa. During our conversation, our ages, grades, and social standing should inevitably come up.
One thing that came to mind as I read the article was that Mika had been secretly planning various things since around a year before the original timeline. Given how significant Mika’s role is in the main story, it will likely be a major concern for me how to navigate my own path.
But one thing’s for sure: I don’t want to end up like the original Mika. Although Mika’s character development involves her growing personally and becoming a better character, just the thought of following in her footsteps makes me feel suffocated. Honestly, it was heartbreaking to see our favored character suffer and fall apart, and now that I might face that, all I can think is that I want to avoid that future at all costs.
Thus, I have to find a way to steer clear of getting caught up in troubles while still aiming for outcomes that either resemble or surpass those of the original story. It’s clear that this won’t be an easy process.
“Nagichan, I feel like there’s a limit to what I can find out on my own. I hate to ask, but would you be able to help me?”
“…Mika, there’s no need to ask that. Helping a friend in trouble, especially someone I’ve known longer than anyone else besides my parents, is just the right thing to do.”
Wow, Nagisa really has a good heart. It’s true that the eyes don’t lie.
The fact that Trinity turned this kind-hearted girl into an irredeemable suspicious demon… I mean, the fact that Hajime Trinity Academy is guilty is solid. Although I believe Mika might have contributed to that, it wasn’t the intended outcome, so I suppose a little leniency is warranted…
Hmm…
Anyway, it’s undeniable that our Mika has various flaws, but she isn’t a bad person. And most importantly, she’s pretty enough to be forgiven. She’s a complete visual genius, serious enough to get away with “But look at my face!” That should do it.
“For now, let’s quickly cover some basic knowledge. I’ll explain about Kivotos, the Student Council, and other major academies. It’s best to memorize this first.”
Thus, Nagisa’s explanation movie began. After two long hours of explanation, I became the grand sage who knew everything about this world.
… Of course, that’s a joke. The truly important details had already been covered in Blue Archive, so most of what I learned was just a refresher. I might have picked up a few new insights, but I was mostly aware of the content already. This meant that I focused more on the seemingly insignificant, minor details since they might actually be relevant.
“So according to Nagichan, I am the head of the Pater faction, one of the largest factions in Kivotos, and I sit in one of the three Student Council President seats at Trinity.”
“…Well, opinions vary about whether Gehenna or Trinity is larger. It’s natural for you to think that way since you inherently had a pathological dislike for Gehenna.”
“Gehenna… Hmm, I don’t really know. But just hearing the name gives me a strange bad feeling. It’s not a name I like.”
If you think about it, that aversion toward Gehenna might be the worst trait that has influenced Mika. Since Mika didn’t really give a proper reason for it, it was more a feeling of baseless aversion.
I, too, am unsure if this feeling is a result of being reincarnated as Mika, but the moment I hear Gehenna, I can feel a faint displeasure creeping up. Thankfully, it doesn’t seem to reach the extreme level of aversion that Mika had, so I can probably keep it under control.
This is just an assumption, but it must be deeply connected to the mystery that all the female students of Kivotos possess. Much analysis suggests that Mika’s mystery is rooted in the archangel Michael, since it was Michael who cast down the evil being Satan, and thus it wouldn’t be surprising if someone of demon lineage like most students in Gehenna resented that.
Thinking about it, do I actually have the ability to handle my own mystery? For now, my halo is intact, and my body feels full of energy, so my physical abilities seem fine.
Although I’m not sure if I can handle something that resembles the superpower Mika is known to utilize in-game… let’s save that for later. Given the nature of Blue Archive, students often have to engage in battles, so having all the combat capability I can muster will definitely be helpful.
In truth, Mika’s main contribution in the main story relies heavily on her combat prowess, so if I can’t fight properly in this body, it’ll create issues in various ways.
If the battle strength of Kenzaki Tsurugi, head of the Justice Realization Department at Trinity, who stands on par with me as a top fighter, wanes, it wouldn’t be surprising if something unexpected happened. Therefore, reaching a comparable level of combat power is absolutely essential.
One problem, however, is that I am currently untrained. I mean, I’m the kind of person who doesn’t even know how to shoot a gun; I have now found myself in Mika’s body, who can easily take down most students with just her physical abilities.
Can this actually be seen as good luck? Although it sounds a bit ironic to talk about luck when discussing reincarnation, it’s already happened, so there’s nothing to be done about it.
“The Student Council of Trinity has a unique structure compared to other academies. This is rooted in the founding background of Trinity General Academy. During a time when disputes among various factions were relentless, representatives from the three factions, Pater, Sanctus, and Filius, gathered together to hold a meeting called T-party, which has led to the current structure where all faction representatives serve as Student Council Presidents.”
I felt a bit bad for interrupting Nagisa, who passionately explained the T-party to me, but since I already knew the content, I just nodded along while observing her.
The distinctive uniform of the T-party combined with Nagisa’s appearance was nothing short of a painting, a work of art. Thankfully, Nagisa continued her explanation without noticing that I was indulging in my personal desires.
“So, this means that I, Mika, am the head of the Pater faction, holding one of the three Student Council Presidency positions at Trinity. As for me, I’m from the Filius faction, and while there’s no one here from the Sanctus faction, the position is held by Yurizono Seiya. Ah, by the way, it might be a good idea to inform Seiya about Mika losing her memory.”
Hmm. A spoiler fox… I hope she doesn’t realize that I’m lying, right? For now, that seems unlikely. Seiya, though she possesses various psychic abilities, including the ability to foresee the future through prophetic dreams, I don’t recall her having mind-reading powers.
“This way, the current host of the T-party will be able to devise countermeasures for the situation where she can’t carry out her duties at all.”
Huh?
What did you say? Current what?
“Current host…?”
“Oh, I skipped that explanation. The Student Council Presidents of T-party take turns serving as hosts, gaining the greatest power during their term. And the current host of T-party is…”
No way, Nagisa, what are you talking about? Such information wasn’t mentioned in the original. Why on earth do second-year students casually take the Student Council President positions?
“It’s Mika!”
This time, it was my turn to faint. Of course, thanks to Mika’s remarkably good health, I didn’t actually faint from the shock, which was quite unfortunate.
