A new day began with a dim moon and sinking stars.

Qing Lin had woken from her slumber, full of energy. Having fully recovered her strength, she was happily playing with the new "toy" she got last night.

The shrunken two-headed Fire Spirit Snake had completely lost the dignity of a fourth-tier magical beast. Coupled with its injuries, it decided to fully give up and let the girl manipulate it into various shapes, unable to resist.

"Young master, can you give it a name?"

"Ahem, the name isn't that important. Plus, you are its owner now. This meaningful task should be done by you, or you could wait until it advances in the future and gains enough intelligence to name itself."

Chen Guan rejected the request without a second thought.

While Qing Lin communicated with the Fire Spirit Snake, Chen Guan asked the few soldiers guarding the area to return to the Rock Desert City and thank General Huang Lao on his behalf.

After retrieving the Heavenly Flame of the Green Lotus Core, he planned to find a secluded place to devour it, leaving no time to return to the city lord's mansion.

Once the soldiers left, the group of four descended into the underground world again.

The two-headed Fire Spirit Snake's body rapidly expanded, bathing in magma, which quickened its recovery. Despite its reluctance to approach Chen Guan, it couldn't defy Qing Lin's commands.

"Be careful, young master," the little girl called out anxiously as she saw Chen Guan stepping onto the snake's head, preparing to dive into the magma.

The sight of diving into the magma looked dangerous, and even the Wang brothers shared her concern, though to a lesser extent. They knew of Chen Guan's strength and prudence—he would retreat if things went awry, ensuring his safety.

Of course, this was also because Chen Guan hadn't fully explained the danger of the Heavenly Flame to them.

"Don't worry, just wait here patiently. I'll act according to the situation, but under no circumstances should you come after me."

As they dove deeper, the energy consumption grew exponentially. Even the magma's color shifted, tinged with streaks of striking blue.

At this depth, even the Fire Spirit Snake, which thrived on magma, felt the pressure, let alone a human.

Chen Guan maintained his Dou Qi, the energy consumption becoming terrifying, akin to constantly using advanced Dou Techniques.

"Luckily, I came prepared with plenty of pills."

While gulping down a few pills and channeling more Dou Qi, he continued to dive for several more minutes until finally, a dense blue glow appeared in his view, resembling an inverted jade bowl.

Born deep within the earth, refined by countless cycles of earth flames, merged, compressed, and sculpted, it takes ten years to develop a spirit, a hundred years to form, and a thousand years to bloom. When fully matured, it takes on a blue hue, and a cluster of blue flames emerges from the lotus heart, known as the Green Lotus Flame or the Heavenly Flame of the Green Lotus Core!

Chen Guan's gaze grew intense, but he was soon distracted by the trembling Fire Spirit Snake beneath him, clearly fearful of the Heavenly Flame.

"Wait for me here."

With Qing Lin's presence, the Fire Spirit Snake had no chance of fleeing. Chen Guan felt at ease.

After swallowing two more pills and increasing his output of Dou Qi, he entered the blue glow's barrier.

Contrary to his expectations, the temperature inside the blue glow was lower than outside, similar to the feeling of just entering the magma.

After admiring it for a moment, Chen Guan reluctantly pulled his gaze away. Taking out a jade ruler, he gently scraped the bottom of the lotus platform, successfully taking the platform along with the Heavenly Flame, leaving only the roots and tendrils behind.

The return journey was far easier than the descent. Perhaps because of the Heavenly Flame, the surrounding magma couldn't even get close to him, and there was none of the previous energy drain.

Above ground, Qing Lin and the Wang brothers waited anxiously. Fortunately, Qing Lin could sense that the Fire Spirit Snake was unharmed, indirectly confirming that Chen Guan was safe as well. Thus, they refrained from recklessly going after him.

"Young master is back!"

Suddenly, Qing Lin cried out in joy, causing the two brothers to doubt their ears.

Before they could ask, accompanied by the Fire Spirit Snake's hiss, Chen Guan and the snake emerged from the magma.

The two brothers nodded in agreement.

The little girl, though reluctant to part, was sensible enough to know she shouldn't cause trouble. She looked somewhat dejected.

"Be good. I'll come find you after I finish dealing with the Heavenly Flame."

After giving them his instructions, Chen Guan wasted no time leaving the underground and summoned his first divine general, quickly heading off.
