Chapter 52 – The Changes
Z City
Saitama POV
It's been several days since I debuted as a professional hero. There haven't been any serious incidents so far. However, for some reason, Genos is staying at my house.
"What are you writing?" I asked, casting a curious yet uneasy gaze in his direction.
"I'm recording the details of your lesson and training regimen," Genos replied.
'Huh? lesson? training regimen? ALL I DID JUST LAZING AROUND AND READING MANGA THOUGH?' My mind screamed. 'Crap, if it continues like this, I will feel bad like I'm scamming him or something. Also, I can't think of a single thing I can teach to this guy!'
I glanced at him momentarily before diverting my gaze to the floor. 'Come on, think of something! or just make up some technique or a spiritual theory. AGH, NO USE! STRENGTH TRAINING IS ALL I GOT! He's a cyborg so I know he will not be satisfied with that! So ho-'
"By the way," Genos interjected, abruptly pulling me from my thoughts, "It's been 5 days since Rena-Sama last visited."
"Come to think of it, she'd typically be here, sipping her favorite tea and engrossed in her phone." I mused, picturing Rena's usual spot by the table, smiling while sipping her tea. "Maybe she got something to do?" I speculated, uncertain of the truth.
"Is that so? Also, at the seminar, they said if a class C Hero had no hero activity for a week, their name would be removed from the Hero registry. Will you be alright Sensei?"
"THEY SAID THAT?!" I rushed my face closer to Genos', seeking confirmation. "Yes," Genos confirmed.
"But, I was watching TV and there wasn't anything going on," I retorted, attempting to calm my nerves.
"The news only reports major incidents, like natural disasters, terrorism, and dangerous monsters," Genos elucidated, leaving me speechless. Following his explanation, he detailed the typical duties of class C Heroes, leaving me feeling inadequate.
"THIS IS NO TIME TO BE READING MANGA!" I bellowed, hastily donning my Hero attire. "Shall we depart?" Genos inquired, rising to his feet.
"No, you stay here. If I'm seen with an S-class Hero, my meager contributions as a C-class will be overshadowed," I hurriedly explained. "But Sensei!" Genos attempted to interject, only to be cut off.
"Genos, strength alone won't suffice to achieve true greatness. Sometimes, physical prowess isn't the answer; you need more," I asserted, adopting a composed demeanor. "Why not focus on other pursuits for now? now I remember, you were an S class ranking last right? so what about try aiming for a greater height? like top ten or something.
Genos fell silent for a moment before a blaze of determination ignited within him. "YES, SENSEI!"
'Phew, he took the bait,' I mused, before finally venturing outside in search of points.

A Few Days Ago
Tatsumaki's House
3rd POV
"I'm home..." A girl with a cat sleeping on her head spoke while entering the house. Her name is Rena.
"Welcome back~" a girl, Tatsumaki, replied, poking her head out from the kitchen area. She then focused back on cooking while humming. Meanwhile, Rena walked over and hugged her from behind, resting her chin on Tatsumaki's head. She then spoke affectionately, "What are you cooking?"
Unable to contain her affection, Tatsumaki started blushing and slowly replied in a low voice, "Curry rice..." She immediately coughed and fixed her voice. "I'm just starting to learn how to cook," she added in a lower tone, "so don't expect too much from the taste..."
"I see..." Hearing this, Rena couldn't help but smile as she closed her eyes, enjoying the moment with Tatsumaki. After a few moments, she spoke in a serious tone. "Tat-Chan, I'm thinking of going to the monster side right now. At this rate, it's only a matter of time before the Heroes find out about my identity. Considering my origin, I think this is the best decision I can make."
Tatsumaki froze up before speaking, "Is that so..."
"Although Nyan told me not to quit my Hero career since it gives them a lot of information, considering I'm one of the S Rank. Leave that aside, Tat-Chan, no, Tatsumaki," Rena said as she removed her hug and took a few steps back. "What would you do?"
"..."
"..."
A few moments passed. No voice can be heard from both sides. Until Tatsumaki broke the silence, "Are you an idiot?" Tatsumaki bluntly spoke.
Huh?" Rena didn't know how to react and tilted her head in response.
Tatsumaki turned around to look her in the face, but her gaze was still directed at the floor. She then spoke, "At that time, I made it clear didn't I, that I would stand by your side no matter what side you took. Did you forget?" Finally, Tatsumaki looked at Rena's face, tears visibly streaming down her cheeks.
"You are my Hero, my lover, my everything. Even if this world is against you, I will stand proudly by your side, Rena. So please," Tatsumaki immediately hugged Rena. "Don't leave without me."
Hearing this, Rena couldn't help but smile and hug Tatsumaki back. Slowly stroked her hair. "I see. Then, let's together become the enemy of the world, together..." Rena spoke in a low tone.
