Chapter 10: Chapter 10: Why is he back
Lira's expression remained neutral, but her heart was racing. She knew that Laurent's plan was reckless, that it could put them all in danger.
Lira's eyes widened in terror as Laurent's words sank in her ears. "You want to plot an accident?" she whispered, her voice barely audible. "And if that fails, you'll bribe people to kill him?"
Laurent's expression remained calm, his eyes gleaming with a sinister intensity. "Don't worry, babe," he whispered, his breath hot against Lira's ear. "I'll take care of everything."
Lira's mind reeled in horror as she processed Laurent's plan. "Do you want to make me a widow?" she asked, her voice trembling with fear.
Laurent's response sent a chill down her spine. "Forget about that, babe," he said, his voice dripping with malice. "Before his death, I'll find a way to separate the two of you. You won't be a widow, my love."
Laurent's arms wrapped around Lira from behind, pulling her close. Lira felt a wave of disgust wash over her, but she remained still, frozen in fear.
Lira's voice was barely above a whisper, her words laced with innocence. "Can you change this plan of yours? Taking a life is something you can never give back. Forget about Vadal, Laurent. Let him live his life."
Laurent's expression remained unyielding, his eyes gleaming with determination. "He's a bad, heartless man, Lira," he said, his voice low and even. "And I will take him down. I'm doing this for you, for us, for our sake."
Laurent's gaze locked onto Lira's, his eyes burning with an unnerving intensity. Lira felt a shiver run down her spine, her heart racing with fear. She didn't dare say another word, fearing Laurent's reaction.
The air was thick with tension, the silence between them heavy with unspoken words. Lira's eyes remained locked onto Laurent's, her mind racing with thoughts of escape, of freedom from this toxic web of deceit.

Vadal's eyes narrowed, a cold light flashing in their depths as the guard report to him. "I knew they were up to something," he muttered to himself, his mind racing with possibilities.
The private guard, still reporting, hesitated before continuing. "Laurent mentioned that he couldn't get any evidence of your wrongdoing in the business world, and he asked madam to transfer all the asset you kept in her name to his name.Young Master. But they seemed to have other plans... plans they whispered to each other, out of my earshot.
Vadal's expression darkened, his face twisted in a scowl. He knew that Laurent and Lira were a formidable team, and their combined efforts could pose a significant threat to his empire. Lira Transferring his assets, hmm. He smirked.
Without hesitation, Vadal made a ruthless decision. "Summon my most trusted men," he ordered the guard. "I want Laurent and Lira watched closely. If they make one wrong move, I want to know about it immediately."
The guard nodded, quickly departing to carry out Vadal's orders. Vadal's eyes, meanwhile, remained fixed on some distant point, his mind consumed by the sinister plot unfolding before him.
In the estate.
Lira's eyes blazed with a fierce determination as she stood in her room, her mind consumed by Laurent's treacherous plans. A cold, calculating smile spread across her lips, her teeth gritted in anger.
"Who gave you the right?" Lira whispered, her voice barely audible, but laced with venom. "You think you can use me for your own gain, claim to love me while cheating on me with my own step-sister? And now, you're planning to take my husband's life?"
Lira's smile grew wider, her eyes glinting with a sinister light. She knew she had to act, to stop Laurent before it was too late. A plan began to take shape in her mind, one that would bring Laurent down and protect Vadal from his evil clutches.
She picks up her phone and dials a number, her eyes gleaming with a hint of determination. After a few moments, a deep, smooth voice answers on the other end.
"Ah, my adorable Phoenix, you finally remembered me today," the voice says, a hint of amusement dancing in its tone. "I must have woken up on the wrong side of the bed, haha!"
Lira's voice is firm and commanding, leaving no room for humor. "This is not the time for jokes, Darko," she says, her tone serious. "I have a job for you, and I need it done discreetly."
Darko's laughter ceases, and his voice takes on a professional tone. "I'm listening, Phoenix. What's the job?"
Lira's eyes narrowed, her mind racing with the details of what she wants him to do. She knew that Darko was a skilled operative, one who could get the job done without leaving a trail.
"I need you to take care of something" Lira said, her voice low and even. "Someone is becoming a liability. Can I count on you, Darko?"

As the darkness of night deepened, Vadal returned to the estate, his face a mask of cold, unyielding determination. Lira, meanwhile, sat in her room, feeling a profound sense of loneliness wash over her.
Her thoughts were consumed by visions of Vadal, wondering what he was doing at that moment, who he was speaking with. A pang of jealousy struck her, imagining another woman trying to seduce him, drawn in by his irresistible charm and power.
A frown circled around her face as she whispered to herself, "If I catch any of them, I'll leave them black and blue." Her eyes flashed with a fierce possessiveness, her heart burning with a passion she couldn't ignore.
As she thought back to the previous night, a blush spread across her face, remembering how she had surrendered herself to Vadal for the first time. She slapped her own cheek, trying to shake off the memory, but it lingered, a bittersweet reminder of her vulnerability.
The truth was, Vadal had been her first, the only man she had ever given herself to. And with that realization, Lira's feelings for him deepened, a mix of emotions swirling inside her like a maelstrom.
A soft knock at the door interrupted Lira's thoughts, and she bid the visitor to enter. The butler, Mrs. Ana, walked in with a respectful smile. "Young Mrs., the young master is back."
Lira's eyes lit up with excitement, but her expression quickly turned into a frown. "But his business trip was supposed to last for two days," she said, confusion etched on her face. "Why is he back so early?"
Mrs. Ana shook her head. "I don't know, Young Mrs. Perhaps he'll share the reason with you himself."
Lira nodded, her mind racing with possibilities. She decided to freshen up before facing Vadal, and walked into the bathroom to take a shower. The butler bowed slightly and walked away, closing the door behind her.
