Celestial Swordsman – Danmachi OC

Yo! It's been a while (at least for this fic). I guess, it is kind of hard to do this, but I guessed that it was better than leading everyone on for an update, but let me explain exactly why.

This was my first piece of fanfiction. The first piece of creative writing since middle school. The first piece of 'art' I shared with others willingly. And as a result, while it does hold good memories, it is also very... messy. And childish.

As one may see, especially if they follow my other works, my skills have considerably improved, both in writing and storytelling in general.

When I started this project, I had a few goals in mind: First, I wanted to expand the world and the mysterious dungeon, past simple explanations of 'they conquered the 4th floor'. Second, I wanted to expand on the magic and swordsmanship in this world past just 'Ais can decimate a leaf with a flick of her wrist because she's cool'. And lastly, I wanted to make a character that had his own story, and not just replace Bell or follow him.

I'd like to think I was able to complete these goals, at least to some degree.

I should now explain how I wrote this story, at least in some parts. In essence, I had a spreadsheet where I would write down ideas for various scenes, give them a rough timeline of happenstance, and then write it down for chapters while bridging it together.

As a result, while I was able to make certain moments shine just as I had envisioned, the path to get there turned into a slog (especially when some folks very vocally didn't enjoy the scenes I worked hard to make. But that's beside the point.)

Eventually, especially as we reached canon, I felt that the slog had become too much. Mostly because I felt like I was simply following canon, something I didn't want to do. And so, I got bored and skipped a weekly upload, which then turned into a month without posting, which leads us to... now.

So yeah, this is very likely not to be finished, but I won't say never. I simply think that I have more interesting fanfiction projects, a possible original story, as well as life that would be better to dedicate my time to.

That aside, I won't leave you with nothing, as I still had many scenes planned that were simply too hard to get through. If you want to create your own 'ending' or whatever, then you can stop here, but this is (roughly) what I had envisioned.

-Sirius teaches Bell more about strength and power, both of the mind and physically, and teaches him how to use firebolt essentially as Bakugo from MHA to weave into his fighting style.

-Bell encounters the enhanced Minotaur and thinks about Sirius' mentorship with a flashback. The first one is where Bell confides in Sirius about being scared after training with Ais. Sirius explains to him that bravery isn't the absence of fear, but rather the ability to fight through it, and a hero is someone who uses that bravery for others. Says for Bell to be a hero, he doesn't need to be fearless but rather fight through it to save others, and if Bell was without fear, Sirius would force him to stop being an adventurer, much thanks to his two girls (Ellie and Stella).

-Sirius joins the Loki expedition to the 59th floor along with some of the Astraea Familia. While the Loki Familia fights the Demi-Spirit, a rogue Ice Dragon, which is the next Monster Rex, makes an appearance and is beaten back by the Astraea Familia.

-Lili joins the Hestia Familia (obviously) after Bell defeats the Minotaur

-Sirius decides to act as a matchmaker for Ais and Bell, especially noticing Lili's affection

After that, only a few things change and my 'scenes' list gets shorter (hence why the hiatus). But essentially:

-Astraea fights the Loki Familia during the Xenos crises, this time being a situation created by Evilus to kick the Astraea Familia out of the city.

-Sirius joins the Hestia Familia to fight the Freya Familia, as the Astraea Familia are needed in the dungeon and to be impartial as a police force. Freya, shall we say, 'appreciates' Sirius for saving her from her vow.

-Fight against 'Z', who is that random villain who knew about canon from a few chapters back. His whole thing was being scared of this medieval world, and knowing that in canon, the OEBD is defeated with Bell going blind and both him and Ais becoming powerless, leaving a vacuum for him to fill and remake the world with modern technology, he did not like that Sirius was making them stronger, was strong himself, and changing the original storyline.

-We learn that 'Z' was also sent down by the Goddess of Earth, though we don't know why (hint: it was to challenge Sirius to be able to take on OBED earlier). He also chose his power to 'be the strongest in that world', and thus, his power is to be possessed by the spirit of Albert Wallenstein who must follow Z's will, but still has consciousness.

-'Z'/Albert fights Sirius and Ais, an awkward father/daughter reunion, and the guy is eventually defeated as Sirius goes into 'the zone' once more.

-Evilus is fighting the others and everyone gets a dance partner, with Riveria nearly getting killed before Leo, remembering his father's words to take charge and make sure Riveria sees him as a man, not a boy. A contrast as this was essentially Tessia's position in his life. Takes Riveria's hand and kisses it. So... yeah.

-A lot of people level up, including Sirius and Ais

-There's also that disaster that Zand and Alfia sealed. It could devour gods and had devoured Nike, located in the Abandoned World. Sirius uses that Xiphos sword he found earlier to slay it. He becomes level 9.

-Got the whole squad killing the OEBD. The end. Possible epilogue of future, focusing on the kids using their second lives to live fulfilled.
