Chapter 10: First trial
The exam began without much mystery; one could even say that Takara was impatient to get to the Forest of Death trial.
When he came across the two examiners who blocked the stairs pretending to be bullies, he walked as if he hadn't seen them before Ram and Rem gave them a simultaneous Uppercut, two perfect and violent reflexes, leaving them with their heads stuck in the ceiling and hanging.
Under the open eyes and even more open mouths of everyone, Takara walked up the stairs with the twins as if nothing had happened.
"I didn't know there was more people with pink hair…" Sakura commented distractedly.
(Does anyone remember if there were more characters besides Sakura with pink hair? I mean, even redheads are more abundant in the series.)
"Is that really the first thing you think of after seeing, seeing… THAT?!" Ino shouted while shaking her arms up and down at the two men hanging unconscious from the ceiling.
"That hit was full of youthfulness!" Lee shouted as literal fire began to burn in his eyes.
"Wasn't that a bit excessive?" Tenten felt phantom pain in her jaw just remembering the crunching sound when the twins hit the men, they simply didn't hesitate and did it.
"Wait!" Naruto jumped when he realized something. "Aren't these guys the ones who robbed us?" he asked with doubt.
A masked mummy accompanied by cute maid twins, it's definitely not something that would be forgotten in the short term...
"Actually, it's them," Sasuke confirmed as he tried to calculate the force necessary to do the same feat. "It's interesting that we can take revenge in the exam, don't you think?"
"Oh, yeah!" Naruto was the one who was filled with competitive spirit this time.
While the other teams were commenting on what happened, Temari and her group only looked at the new decorations on the ceiling for a second before passing underneath them and climbing the stairs.
They weren't even surprised, if Konoha thinks that Takara likes to waste time with bad quality performances, then they will be unpleasantly surprised.
As everyone gathered, Kabuto pulled out his "famous" ninja information cards and while showing off his acting skills, Takara could only shake his head slightly.
He was sure that someone was watching the place; how the hell did they not realize the flaw in Kabuto's cover?
"Hey, four-eyes, do you have information about that guy?" Sasuke asked after seeing a few cards that interested him.
He didn't know the name of the guy from Suna, so he could only point with his thumb to indicate who he was referring to.
Kabuto turned his head and had to contain a tic in his eye, realizing who the Uchiha survivor was pointing to among all present.
Orochimaru-sama had strict instructions not to cause trouble to his laboratory equipment provider, it just wasn't worth it to make bad blood while both parties got what they wanted.
"If you give away our information, I'll kill you," Takara said flatly without deigning to turn his head towards them.
And as if to emphasize the point, the Ram and Rem puppets turned their heads towards Kabuto in sync and took a punching stance, causing the floor to tremble slightly.
"I'm sorry guys, I'd rather not make enemies before the exam; I learned after so many times that it's not an intelligent strategy to do so," Kabuto shook his head and put an expression of helplessness while shrugging, as if he had no other option.
The other teams who were hoping to get more information or see a show, were dumbfounded by the development.
Who threatens to kill someone in these circumstances with such naturalness?
And the gray-haired boy, why are you so cowardly?
No wonder he had repeated the exam several times...
After the arrival of Ibiki Morino and declaring the start of the first exam, everyone calmed down and tried to complete the papers in front of them.
Takara and his puppets wrote random things that weren't even related to the questions as answers, knowing that it wasn't relevant and at most would act as if they were nervous.
After finally finishing writing, he proceeded to ignore everything and stayed still while waiting for Anko to enter through the window.
Just as the broken glass was heard, Ram and Rem threw several Kunais that left Anko pinned to the wall by her coat, just like in the banner. Anko was bewildered by the quick reaction and Ibiki had to help remove them to stop making such an embarrassing pose.
"We're sorry, we thought it was another test," Ram and Rem said at the same time, making more than one of those present shiver as they heard them.
Definitely it wasn't that Takara wanted to humiliate Anko for making him waste his time, not at all.
"Be more careful next time," Ibiki warned while handing back the kunai.
"Ugh, like I was going to say, I'm Anko Mitarashi and I will be the one to guide you and explain the second test," Anko said with much less enthusiasm. "Follow me."
After arriving at the entrance of the Forest of Death and signing the death consents, the scrolls were distributed and Takara got the scroll marked as "Earth".
Temari and her group received the same scroll, so he should take measures with others.
Takara looked at the other teams and observed in which direction they were going, mentally marking targets among the various participants.
After all, the forest is too good an opportunity to miss…
