Cobra Kai: The Dragon Warrior

Chapter 270: See You at the Tournament

"I'm truly glad that most of the Dojos from Del Valle are participating in this great Karate tournament; I just hope their names make it past the preliminaries, as hundreds of Dojos won't." Dash set aside both dojos that had been selected to participate in the Sekai Takai.

But before leaving, Dash stopped and, looking at everyone who seemed eager to leave this place as soon as possible, said, "If you cause trouble, both Dojos will be expelled from the tournament, your licenses will be revoked, and I will ensure that none of the sensei ever teaches again."

"You don't have that authority." Terry didn't believe Dash's words about revoking their licenses.

But Dash smiled and simply said, "Try me; there are more disciplined martial arts schools eager to be chosen to represent not only their dojo but also their country."

Everyone fell silent; obviously, Dash had recommended the two Dojos to participate due to his influence in the tournament, as he was the owner of one of the most famous martial arts schools in China, which was not something small to consider.

If any of them caused problems outside special matches, their Karate school would be closed, and with that, all dreams of reopening would be shattered.

This was the real world; no one could be at odds over personal matters outside official matches because that wouldn't make them people but wild gangsters who only thought with their fists.

Everyone had to understand the hard way what it meant to ruin the reputation of martial arts, and Dash was not in the mood to be constantly worried that martial arts might be denied in this country at any moment.

Outside the dojo, Dash looked at the time, and at that moment, Devon stopped outside to pick him up. "Are you done?"

"Everything is finalized; the tournament date will be at the beginning of the year." Saying this, he got into the car to leave this place.

There was no more reason to get involved in small tournaments; these childish disputes had to end, or someone would really get hurt seriously, and there would be no choice but to involve the authorities.

"What a damn headache..." Dash reclined the seat a bit, wanting to relax a little.

"Was it that bad?" Devon was interested in knowing what had happened.

"I appreciate Daniel and Johnny; their dojo wanted to join the competition that Terry was invited to with his martial arts school. Both won a karate title this year; they believe they have the talent to participate in a tournament of that level and wanted to show which of the two was the best."

Saying this, Dash paused and said, "In the end, I recommended both Dojos; their participation could bury all the past problems they've accumulated along the way. To show who was better."

"They're lucky we don't participate in the Sakura Bushido branch; our official residence is in China, and just because of that, they have a chance to participate in that tournament." Devon wasn't lying, but rather stating harsh realities that might be difficult to hear.

At Sakura Bushido, they didn't train the student; here, they trained themselves, and that's something few manage to understand. The quality of the new fighters was enriching, and now the adults were fighting in professional matches; there were even UFC fighters who were now part of the martial arts school.

Sakura Bushido's facilities were, after all, top-notch; the coaches and training methods were good at guiding fighters about their opponents until defeating them in the easiest way possible.

"Lately, I feel tired."

Devon smiled and said, "You're tired of winning; you've shown everything you wanted, and now you just want to bring things to an end to seek new aspirations."

"Maybe that's it." Dash murmured as he closed his eyes to rest.

All this time, he had only learned to fight; now that he had become better than many with good lungs, it was more than enough to know that he was right.

"Just one more tournament."
