Cobra Kai: The Dragon Warrior

Chapter 273: Cheng's Best Moment

"Mr. Han, it's always a pleasure to see you." Dash extended his hand to greet this elderly man, who was truly a master teacher in every sense of the word.

"Come, I'll show you to your room." Mr. Han signaled Cheng to instruct the students, and Dre, who was eager to demonstrate everything he knew to Dash, was sent to the laundry room because the uniforms needed to be cleaned.

"Now that you're participating in the tournament, do you have any martial arts schools that will be competing?"

Devon, who was behind them, said, "We have a few in mind, the most famous ones in our area and some others from our country."

"So, do you think it will be difficult?"

Dash shook his head and, with a somewhat pensive look, said, "I hope so. At least there should be someone who can beat me after all this time."

"Do you really want to be defeated that much?" Mr. Han didn't understand why Dash was seeking something like that, so he looked at Devon, hoping she would clarify.

Devon stared at Dash and said, "He believes that once he loses, he can move on to other plans he has in mind. For example, he wants to participate in the Olympics first and then make a leap to professional fights."

That explanation was the best Dash could hear; he wanted something like that, but maybe in the end, he would stop fighting because he had already proven to be one of the best.

The main goal of training in martial arts was just that: he wanted to prove that his body was the only limiter and that if he had the opportunities, he would be a better fighter than anyone else.

But in the end, he met Devon, and his desire to keep proving he was the best started to fade since he had achieved all his primary objectives.

Since only Devon knew these things now, she wanted to hear what Mr. Han had to say about it.

"Well, then you might achieve everything you want."

"Is there anyone capable of beating him in another school?" Devon was interested in the new fighters.

"Young Cheng is determined to defeat Dash in this tournament and has been training very hard to achieve it." Mr. Han said after reaching the room that Devon and Dash would have.

Dash wasn't surprised to hear that, even though he had lost to Cheng in training; that wasn't the same for him as in official tournaments, in which he hadn't lost any so far.

Currently, Cheng was the Dragon Warrior after Dre injured his ankle while skating with his girlfriend. At that time, the only known champion was Cheng, who had represented the school in previous years and was highly appreciated by the students who were eager to see the fight between him and Dash, the old dragon.

"So, it will be a wonderful tournament," Dash said as he entered the room.

Devon also entered and found part of her luggage inside, which brought a big smile to her face. "We'll go out to the city later; there are many things we want to do to adjust after the trip."

Mr. Han nodded, seeing that these young people had much to do, so he said, "The key is on the wooden table. The walls are soundproof, so you can listen to music or watch TV without bothering anyone."

Having experience with Dre, Mr. Han knew how foreigners acted to pass the time in a place that could be boring for them, given the limited communication skills many had.

Fortunately, here at Sakura Bushido, they offered free English classes so that students could master different languages more quickly.

"This is a nice room." Devon looked at the room, which had space for two people and an en suite bathroom, and couldn't help but appreciate the place.

Dash stood in the middle of the room and said, "Yes, it's just that we didn't need two beds."

Devon nodded, but after processing what Dash had just said, she criticized him: "Yes, too bad you're afraid of having kids."

"We're young; why would we think about something like that?"

"I think the same…" Devon agreed with Dash and then lay down on the bed.

Dash looked at her fixedly and asked, "Do we sleep or go out directly?"

"It was a terrible trip; better to rest and then think about going out." Devon moved aside, and Dash accepted the invitation to sleep.

But at that moment, Devon murmured, "If you dare to kick me, thinking you're in the middle of a fight in your dreams, you won't sleep in the same bed as me until the trip is over."

"I won't…" Dash remembered the last time that happened and shook his head, thinking about that legendary story.
